  • Target Plus has partnered with Shopify to bolster their third party marketplace, and we evaluate the potential and the reality of what the deal means. Is this partnership a way for D2C brands to get into a big retailer, and what happens if Target decides to compete with a private label? Is this deal the best way for Target to curate for greater product discovery and align itself with indie brands and increase Target loyalty or does the potential for greater online assortment just confuse shoppers and potentially reduce the trust because Target won't control fulfillment? Or is it just a nothing-burger?
