I was talking to the owner of the MK2 Cav just the night (technically yesterday lol 22/08/23), nice guy. Cracking looking car. It was him who put me on to this video and channel. Good video and look forward to watching more.
What a beautiful place, there were some gorgeous classics on display there. My personal favourite was the Wartburg 353, known as Wartburg Knight in the UK. You were correct it was built in Eisenach in the former DDR (East Germany). Great content as always❤
Loved the Mk2 Cavalier. Had one on a "D" plate so 1986/1987. It was a 1.8 - can't remember the model but one above base spec if memory serves. Loved that car, the seating position suited me better than any car I've driven before or since. Stolen and then written off by the thieves. I was heartbroken so I can relate to the owner of the Mk2 you featured who said it was an emotional decision to buy one. I can see me doing something like that - if not a Cavalier then maybe a Vectra. Great video and a really nice setting in Milngavie.
Family had a y reg 1983 mk2 cavalier 1.6 GL 5 door hatch in china blue, with velour seats, electric mirrors, rev counter, battery gauge & oil pressure gauge as standard. Had a phillips 4 speaker stereo too. HUB 660Y. Not seen any exactly like mine in many years. Wish i kept it.
Seeing that Cavalier CD . Brings back some very good memories of my old Black Cavalier CD ( Reg E161 YAU ) . One of my biggest regrets selling that car . Enjoyed the Video looking forward to the next one .
Another Brilliant Video Dougie, a great selection of cars. Have to agree with you the Hudson Hornet looked amazing and one of my favourites. Liked the Capri 280 Brooklands and the dealer plates of wylies brings back memories for me as my dad used to buy cars from Wylie's in Edinburgh. Where was Bubba when you were looking at the Caddy?? Also nice to see a Clio Williams. Another show I may have to check out next year.
I spent a fair bit of time in the back of a D reg cavalier CD in 1990/1991 - my mates dad used to take us swimming in it. It was the first time I ever saw electric windows in the back and when you're 10 that means something.
The Corsa looks great on those wheels. Paint holding up well too. I think i saw a Reliant Scimitar in your coverage. Did you know that Princess Anne has one? 😅😅
@@phil7301 Yeh Phil so I've heard and seen, one or two channels on here were talking about it too. A few of them have been going / running for years. I dare say more will come out in the near future.
Think we might have a different definition of untouched. There was a fair amount of work to sills, rear arches and brakes to get it back on the road in 2019.
Love the velour trim on the doors. But it's top of the range and you still had to wind the sunroof. Ford and Vauxhall never had electric sunroofs for some reason. I remember seeing all the reps doing the winding motion.
I thought the Cavalier CD would be a 1600 unless the 2.0i badge was stuck on the back. It wasnt even a CDi badge but not sure if the 1800i made it to 87 or 88 CD's. Very comfy cars with the velour. Loved my GLi back in the day once you hit 4000rpm she really motored.
UA-cam is stupid with the music copyright strikes , surely you would think AI can decipher if your video is shot at an event or not ? I really dont get it but anyway great video Dougie , I wonder if you will ever find a Mk1 Cavalier SRI for sale ? that has to be like as rare as finding gold lol
My dads first new car 1975 wartburg in orange it was a great car very smooth two stroke you at to mix the oil will the petrol in the tank one Pint for every 5 gallons of petrol it had i free wheeling gear box so it would not Seize on the overrun it would no start with out choke he gave it to my when his eye site started to fall a had it for a few years it was all so very god in the snow I came home from my brothers the weather turned in to blizzard I was one of the only cars to keep on going with little trouble

My brother had a MK2 CD in anthracite. Lovely old thing it was!
surely the front number plate on the corsa needs changing.. it's no longer in England!
Great Video. I follow all your video’s. One of the best channels on UA-cam. So informative and entertaining.
Going back is clearly the way forward! ❤️🏴
I was there that day. It sure was great weather for the show.

another lovely cavalier cd, you cannot beat an original 3 square early dealer sticker
The 1984 reg Cdi was the best model with the brown interior. and the small suite cases on the door cards
The Corsa looks great on those wheels. Paint holding up well too.

great video what charachter all these cars have and still have good on the owners .+Ford Capri the best Crumpet Catcher .
Clever council , put the cars up the high st so the local businesses can benefit from the show ! 👍🏴😉
Some car shows down South are finishing this year, Brighton etc, apparently over emissions etc.

Dougie that Cavalier CD was stunning
That red cavalier was a peach, defo my favourite =-D
That green Jaguar 240/340 looks like the one that was on Wheeler Dealers.
Mulguy.......Millingaaavie, been easier if held in Bearsden as non locals (or those who are unaware) could pronounce it properly, superb vid 😂😂😂😂
lol
Love how you appreciate non vauxhall
That cav was original not been touched it used to be my mates in Darwen Lancashire sold it about 2 year ago sounds like it’s been passed about abit

10:14 spotted 👀 thanks for your kind words sir!
Some real nice car's there Dougie shame about the copyrighted music. The weather looked lovely good day for a car show.👍
The summer here usually just means the rains a bit warmer
That mk2 cavalier is exactly the same as the one I had E779 YGD the original owner even came from Milngavie

Fully expected your american relative to make an appearance beside that American motor with the velour
Save the tunnel for the 6 cylinder cars please.
the bus is based at the gvvt now thats a place to see
14:50 That's a Kent cross-flow engine. Not a Pinto 🤣
Looks a good wee show Dougie. Do you just turn up at this or do you have to register?
If you want to show your car, you need to register.
