The Eagles extended Jordan Mailata and signed free agent Avonte Maddox yesterday but many fans are still wondering why the Birds haven’t extended WR DeVonta Smith yet. Smith is entering the 4th year of his rookie contract and wants a deal that would keep him in Philadelphia long-term while also making him one of the highest-paid receivers in the league. Its in the Eagles best interest to wait in order to lock your o-line and address the issues on an aging defense. At the same time, its also in Devontes best intrest to reap the benefite of the ever inflating WR market. Its a win-win. Smith will get paid when Howies ready and I think he understands that and is ok with it.

Josh Allen could be interesting, I wonder what he would go for? Seems like pass rusher value is down with Reddick and Burns not even drawing a 1st. Could be an opportunity for the birds to get a good deal on a premium player. He’d also want a contract as well which could complicate things.

The numbers are all incentive based due to his performance and most notably his health so if he stay healthy and plays like he can play then he will get paid still very low numbers for one of the best nickels in the NFL if he didn't have an injury history he would have made a lot of money this season but that's why no body wanted to pay him cause health concerns so the deal from I heard us mostly incentive based so it's a great deal for a great player now are nickle should be solid with him and Rogers competitiing for starter so I'm happy with it

He. & his AGENT MORE SO - FIDUCIARY-WISE - is/are NOT going to EXTEND HIS CONTRACT; that’s be the dumbest move for him regardless of his 2024. EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT SMITTY IS & HIS WORTH, now, so they know they can get more when Lamb & Jefferson make their signings as well as Aiyuk given he’s in almost identical situation where Smitty’s the best (team & League) Man-WR whereas AJ’s like Deebo being the best Zone WR (given their production numbers, as well as their styles - eg, route running vs gapping w/ more fluid routes run [yes I framed nicely versus say, less crisp {still somewhat “nice”} adjective of AJ’s routes vs Smitty’s]

What I’m more worried about is us knelling this draft down cornerback in the first round second round should be linebacker offensive lineman let down the road defensive lineman, office of lineman and maybe a safety or wide receiver.
