LYRICS:
One day I came to Him, I was so thirsty.
I asked for water, my throat was so dry.
He gave me water that I had never dreamed of.
But for this water, my Lord had to die.
He said, "I thirst" yet he made the river.
He said, "I thirst" yet he made the sea.
"I thirst," said the king of the ages.
In His great thirst He brought water to me.
Now there’s a river that flows as clear as crystal.
It comes from God's throne above!
And like a river, it wells up inside me,
Bringing mercy and life giving love.
That's one happy Momma to stand and sing this with her son
Mark's mom wrote this song. It is really beautiful, and makes you stop and think about what Jesus did for us.
You are so lucky to be brought up in a Christian home Mark. Your Mother was a beautiful woman. Such a gift that the two of you could sing together. ☺️
In my humble opinion, this version with Mark and his Mom singing is better than The Cathedrals.
I loved it on Mark Lowry on Broadway when you asked her to introduce the Vocal Band and she said . "I'd be happy to. The Mark Lowry Vocal Band. " You said, "No, no. Its the Bill Gaither Vocal Band." She said " I like this better." What a moment for her. You could just see the pure LOVE she had for you. God bless you. What a lady
Mark your Mama is beautiful. Now singing at Jesus feet with Vestal, Dottie and all the rest!
Amen🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
When I hear this song, I can't help but love my daddy and mommy more! I, my husband, and my parents have a gospel group and we used to sing alot. My dad is gonna be 83 next month and his singing voice is slowly fading but when he sings The Old Rugged Cross, it brings tears to my eyes. I've heard many people sing I Thirst but your mama makes me wanna go Home! I have loved you and your music since you came out with Mouth In Motion and spoke about open heart surgery. You've made me laugh when I felt so down and I'm so glad that listen to and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. May God richly bless you!
wish i had mine back, sadly there are not visiting hours in heaven. daddy, mama and two brothers are there now
Aside from the fact that this lovely moment was captured for posterity, this is a genuinely good song. It is astounding to think that the Maker of the universe begged for a drink. His love truly is amazing.
What a stunning Mother and Son moment, not to mention a beautiful song.
Wow, he has his mama's chin! What a devotion they had for each other
@@sandrasharp2934Yeah, Chin, yes, but not her brain! She was one smart woman! She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know her! She was a very kind woman who brought many to the Lord! I didn't know until today that had recently left for heaven to be with the one she loved more than anyone, her Lord!Pray for Mark too! He really loved his Mama!
@d.schoepflin2247 yes he did. He really misses her. Our mom's were close-in age and I was close to.my.mother too. She was my best friend.
They look like each other.
So precious to see you singing with your Mom, especially the song that she wrote. Mark, can see where you inherited your beautiful voice.

What an amazing woman "Mama" (Bev Lowry) was and still is in memory! I was so amazingly blessed to meet her & Charles & work with them at the product table at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville during Mark's Senior Trip! This song will live in the memory banks of my life forever!
Thank you, Beverly Lowry, for writing what may be the best gospel song ever written.
So this is where Mark got his musical talent!
Absolutely beautiful!!! A wonderful song so tenderly and lovingly sang by Mark and his mother Mrs Beverly Lowry the author of this beautiful song. It’s message is simple but clear.

Wonderful ❤
Beautiful song, both this and Promises are absolutely awesome.
I loved them! Heaven gained another singing angel. Praise God! I love you both. God Bless you Mark. What a wonderful gift and now a treasure for you to cherish until you get home! We love, love, love you nd miss you in the Gaither Vocal Band! Blessings!
Talk about a GREAT SONG!!!
Agreat song writer as well. May Bev rest in eternal love and peace! Mark is not such a bad songwriter, Himself with
Mary Did You Know being one of them!! I could listen to either OR BOTH of them... all day long...
& Together, this Mother & Son
have the best blended voices ever... SO BEAUTIFUL!!! The only way my day would be even more complete would be to add the Gaither Homecoming voices. All are excellent, but... as of late, I have favored The Martin's... Whom, I believe... Mark was partly INSTRUMENTAL for discovering!!! 🥰😅SEE what I did there?!! *GRIN*!! 🤣🥰😘
ANY OF THESE could sing THE PHONE BOOK 📖 🤔 👀 *IF you can still find one!!!
God 🙌 Bless
First heard it sung by George Younce and I loved it. To have is sung by the writer, wow!
Charles Dube she wrote it?
+Carolyn Halbert
Yes, she did. And thank God she passed that talent along to Mark or we wouldn't have "Mary Did You Know."
Mama Bev is a beautiful lady (inside and out) with a beautiful voice AND testimony.
I love when you can see the spirit just radiate from some people. Just in this single video not only could you see her love of the Lord in her but the proudness she has in her son.
