i myself love Ging , and i think he is a much better father than people give him credit . and that is for some reasons : 1. ignoring the circumstances surrounding the absence of Gon's mother . by the time Ging had him , he was one of the strongest nen users . he must have had a lot of enemies and responsibilities . staying away from him from the beginning was probably the only way to keep him safe and give him a good chance at a normal life, at least until he was old enough to want something else . 2. i think the story shows that Ging was very independent and that his thoughts and decisions were very much his own , and that he valued that very much and wanted his son to have the same independence , but he realized that if he stayed with him , the shadow that he would cast on Gon would be too great that it would shape his expectations of himself too strongly ( even with him away , and gon knowing almost nothing about him ; it still did ). 3. i think Ging knew that Gon as a young child needed a mother figure much more than a father figure .and that Mito who lived on a small island where gon is one of two children ( so every one would treat him like family ) was better for him . i think he also knew himself and that he is not capable of raising Gon on his own even if he wanted. 4. even thou Ging was physically absent , he kept tabs on his son whom he knew was going to be like him , and he made preparations to give him drive and help him become strong enough for the life he would choose (he literally made Greed Island for him ). 5. it is obvious that Ging just like Gon has a very strange outlook on life , and unlike Gon he finds it hard to express his feelings frankly . this combination leads him to express his feelings indirectly or avoid that entirely .which makes him look uncaring . but if we know something about him , it is that he does care, especially about people close to him . and we see that clearly in Mito's backstory . i think all of these reasons and maybe more combined , some more than others . made him make the decision to stay away from his son. for that and more i think he is a great character and a better (than seems) father because even if he was wrong in his choices i think he made them for his son because he thought they were the wright choices. plus, by the end of the show he gives one of the best one-liners in anime and manga.
It is the magic that HXH has, being immersed in a war with the chimera ants against beings with monstrous power, but like this, everyone continued their course and no one knows what happened in those moments, only the boys and us the spectators. It makes this world much more real, no one is the center of the scene, but everyone lives their story. Kurapika and Leorio continued on their way without knowing anything about what we saw, just like Hisoka and Ilumi... It is just like the analysis they do after the episode❤

The way Ging gets introduced as a Hunter is so damn good. When at first people were saying Ging was one of the best Hunters, I just expected him to be strong. Conditioned by other anime. But then he gets properly introduced and the first thing he does is ''make his target move the way he wants..'' Its just so amazing. It really speaks to me. Makes Ging instantly a force to be reckoned with.

I would have much more preferred to see Gon deal with Kite's death slowly and gradually overcome it, and learn that death is part of life and is also one of the risks of being a hunter and grow from this fact. at the time there wasnt any major character deaths that affected the main characters too much. So it would have been interesting if Kite would have remained dead. but like maybe togashi is playing a long game here. i really hope. others like that he was reborn but imo, it felt unnecessary
Once you have finished the show can you do reaction read-along of the manga that continues the story? Its focus is on Kurapika mostly so nice to see what he is doing again.
Ging might play it off like all he does is just for Fun & Games, but he really has *_much_* deeper intentions with his plays espectially the rules, if it wasn't obvious. (In particular keeping Pariston under wraps, as you will continue to see him do)
need more respect and appreciation for Gon, imagine how they’d be if Killua was the one on the brink of death. Don’t like the downplaying of his character and his actions and reasonings for it. show doesn’t spoon feed his character you just have to pay attention and remember the things he didn’t have growing up, and how/why he views things the way he does.
I think it's because we didn't get as much internal thoughts with Gon throughout the series where his emotiona were being explored to the same degree as Killua, thus most people are not as emotionally connected to him. His internal thoughts were more hidden than Killua, and the series used that for shock factor whenever Gon does something wild, but as a reseult people have less emotional investment in his character, they don't relate to him as much because they don't really know him as deeply as Killua.
@@MrM9819 Ironically that is one of the reasons I love Gon more, the way his character relies so heavily on subtext and the reader making the effort to put themselves in his shoes and empathize with him.

Truly great storytelling doesn't exclusively rely on subtext, some things are so important that you need to hear the basic nitty gritty specific details there. Otherwise you're completely relying on the fans to fill in the blanks for you. Thats good for characters like Hisoka whose whole appeal is his mystery and unpredictability. But that style of writing doesn't work with the main character who you're suppossed to be emotionally invested in, it comes across as lazy. And in my eyes that's what makes Killua an objectively better written character than Gon.
I love that Melody is possibly Milena's favorite character. I always say my favorite character is Gon even tho I love them all so much, but if only Melody's sotry were a bit longer she'll definetly be my favorite character

When it comes to kite I don’t know facts but pito at some point talks about how eating certain parts of humans were more nutritious for the queen and I believe they were talking about organs brains etc And i believed that’s why most ants were retaining their consciousness when being born as ants
i didn’t realize how confusing kite’s reincarnation was for most people. but if you consider his nen ability and also his fight with pitou you’ll see that he rolled a “3” and his staff took the form of a baby’s toy… the number 3 is symbolic for “life, death, & rebirth”. i know that not much is explained about kite’s nen ability but he was able to reincarnate because of his nen ability, not because he was eaten by the ants.

The way Ging gets introduced as a Hunter is so damn good. When at first people were saying Ging was one of the best Hunters, I just expected him to be strong. Conditioned by other anime.
But then he gets properly introduced and the first thing he does is ''make his target move the way he wants..'' Its just so amazing. It really speaks to me. Makes Ging instantly a force to be reckoned with.

I would have much more preferred to see Gon deal with Kite's death slowly and gradually overcome it, and learn that death is part of life and is also one of the risks of being a hunter and grow from this fact. at the time there wasnt any major character deaths that affected the main characters too much. So it would have been interesting if Kite would have remained dead.
but like maybe togashi is playing a long game here. i really hope. others like that he was reborn but imo, it felt unnecessary
Hisoka would've had so much fun fighting the ants, specially since they were so diverse in terms of power level and abilities.

need more respect and appreciation for Gon, imagine how they’d be if Killua was the one on the brink of death. Don’t like the downplaying of his character and his actions and reasonings for it. show doesn’t spoon feed his character you just have to pay attention and remember the things he didn’t have growing up, and how/why he views things the way he does.
I think it's because we didn't get as much internal thoughts with Gon throughout the series where his emotiona were being explored to the same degree as Killua, thus most people are not as emotionally connected to him. His internal thoughts were more hidden than Killua, and the series used that for shock factor whenever Gon does something wild, but as a reseult people have less emotional investment in his character, they don't relate to him as much because they don't really know him as deeply as Killua.
@@MrM9819 Ironically that is one of the reasons I love Gon more, the way his character relies so heavily on subtext and the reader making the effort to put themselves in his shoes and empathize with him.
@@MrM9819 i don’t get why people need to be spoon fed why a character does the things he does, it was always obvious to me why giving his age, his dad’s abandonment etc etc. I think people just like to flock towards the character that looks different (hair, emo looking) aka Killua or a Susake or a Todaroki etc. literally seen people say those types of characters are their favorite before they even talk. didn’t expect these 2 reactors to fall into that stereotype of downplaying Gon’s character but I was mistaken.
@@angrashadow2958 The thing is, even then i don't think there's enough meat to the subtext with Gon to compete with how much more well-explored Killua is as a character.
@@autogamezz9999 It's not about being spoon fed, it's a bout substance and exploration. Truly great storytelling doesn't exclusively rely on subtext, some things are so important that you need to hear the basic nitty gritty specific details there. Otherwise you're completely relying on the fans to fill in the blanks for you. Thats good for characters like Hisoka whose whole appeal is his mystery and unpredictability. But that style of writing doesn't work with the main character who you're suppossed to be emotionally invested in, it comes across as lazy. And in my eyes that's what makes Killua an objectively better written character than Gon.
I love that Melody is possibly Milena's favorite character. I always say my favorite character is Gon even tho I love them all so much, but if only Melody's sotry were a bit longer she'll definetly be my favorite character

also, Kite got revived/reincarnated. i know he is ging student so it makes sense he know how to revive himself but like idk. i didnt really like it. wish he dead for good. he doesnt have much impact to the story aside from what happened to gon i guess.

When it comes to kite I don’t know facts but pito at some point talks about how eating certain parts of humans were more nutritious for the queen and I believe they were talking about organs brains etc

i didn’t realize how confusing kite’s reincarnation was for most people. but if you consider his nen ability and also his fight with pitou you’ll see that he rolled a “3” and his staff took the form of a baby’s toy… the number 3 is symbolic for “life, death, & rebirth”. i know that not much is explained about kite’s nen ability but he was able to reincarnate because of his nen ability, not because he was eaten by the ants.
