How would you set this up? I'm working to get to 10k subs so these manufacturers can put some respeck on my name. lol. Thanks for watching until the end, liking the video and commenting. It helps!
Those look like looped tabs. Do you have any old fiberglass tent poles? If you do, feed the tent pole through the loop into the lower loop and stick it into the ground do the same thing for all three that way you would create a stiff back for the entire panel and could angle it to whatever Direction you want.
Could also hang it from your backpack as you go down the trail. You could hang it from a branch or your tent. Heck get a cardboard box cut it to make a triangle and you could use it as a brace to angle. Thats a really cool little panel. Heck you could hang it from your railings at your house.
The hooks are probably for stakes, so it doesn't fly away when it gets windy. You could possibly use stakes to angle it too but I bet the primary use it so secure it from flying away. Metal grommet holes would be better though.
Askive, I just bought one to go with my jackery 240. I live in my van full time. Yes, I put it on the roof of my van and I put it flat on the ground. I put boxes (the Amazon box and flexsolar box that it was packaged in) I found that if you could ANGLE it directly towards the sun you could at least get 50 watts, but then it was towards the end of the day and intermittent clouds. I'm thinking about getting a board to temporarily mount it to and attach some kind of legs to it for angling it towards the sun. Flexsolar makes a rigid version of this but I like how small this folds up, great for VanLife where space is king.
Nice @ how you make it work! That's pretty cool. Yeah man, that space is vital. Do you think you'd want a bigger power station and how do you like that 240.
@@AskIveSolar for now I'm cool with the small power station because I really only use it for lights and charging up my devices (phones, tablet etc) but once in a while I use it for my little 100 watt rice cooker that I rarely use to cook rice with 😆 I mostly use it to cook simple foods or to reheat stuff. Most of the time I cook with my Coleman butane stove. So for now my electrical needs are not that much. Later on I will have to eventually get a beefier system because I want to have a refrigerator. For now I just use an ice chest. I like having ice available for my water or tea throughout the day and sometimes sodas.
All depends if you go camping or hiking. The loops are great for tying it up to something and angling it towards the Sun. I also use the loops to fasten it to the top of my tent while I'm camping
I’ve been trying to plan a 50mile local rail trail trip on my Ebike and something like this might help me top off my battery at the primitive camp ground, which has no power. I have a small bike trailer and this would tuck nicely inside with a small pre charged solar generator. 👍
You might tie it on top of a tent or some other surface (gazebo roof?) that is angled to the sun. With a discount, that might not be a bad deal. Is it EFTE, or PET? The i200 can charge at 72W if you give it 24V. The charger that comes with it is anemic, only giving it about 45W. I've got both of my BougeRV 180W panels out full time now.
Nice video. Wish this were made more like the other FlexSolar panels with ETFE. You asked how I would use the hanging loops. When I’m camping, I am only in camp in the morning and evening. I often hang a panel from my canopy to catch the sun at sunrise or sunset.
With those little hoops attached on either side you can run some string thru them and hang them off of anything the top or side of your car roof rack window good a tree table or a branch the possibilities are endless really
I was worried about you and was wondering how you were health wise ... haven't seen anything from you on You Tube. I'm glad that you're back. I think that this solar panel is cute ... but the cost, for it, is more than I am willing to spend. I would, most likely, hang it, somewhere, like on my patio railing(s), like in the format of hanging a sail on a boat, so it would just bluster out like one, when the wind blows, instead of flying away, or blowing around, wildly.
I appreciate that, it was some flu like stuff for like 3 days, maybe it was that light version of the rona, who knows. Interesting @ the railing, I can see that working in the winter or during the morning / evening. When the sun is lowest.
i know im late BUT..for car camping this is great for space..think it would be OK on the BLUETTI EB3A..? IM sure U cam McGiver a foldable stand perhaps with garden stakes, or sometthing similar
True! Or just throw it on the windshield. They have a horizontal 40 watt one that doesn't have legs either but it's not as versatile in the connections.
I have something similar by Rockpals but it doesn't fold into that small of a size. More like a 16"x15"x2.5". I normally deploy it on top of the Pop-Up Tent's south facing side for maximum exposure to the sun. Plus keep it close to the Solar Generator inside the tent. I'll have to look into that one after I confer with the Commander, I mean the wife. She thinks I'm becoming a solar pack rat.
The only reason i didn't like those kind of folding is that you can't really get the max from it. Laying flat on the ground makes panels to heat up and losing performance. Thanks for your time to make this useful video.
You need something to drop that voltage down to actual 12v vs the 18 or so that solar panels live at. Or you can get a folding panel that has ports like USB a and USB c
@AskIve Solar Worrks great got one for my family in the Philippines. I feel like I should have got the 60w one for them, but I was also trying to avoid trade tariffs. 🥹👍🇵🇭
Folding panels in general are more expensive. Especially more portable ones. Thing about laptops vs desktops. But I feel you. Standard 2 ish dollars per watt tho.

Pretty wide load for a backpack though, right??
Good to see you uploadin' again 😁 good micro panel for sure!
Thanks for that man! Yeah man, trying to decide if I want to keep it since I have the rock pals.

Hmmm. Interesting. You might be onto something.

I'm pretty sure it's pet as I haven't seen etfe on these smaller ones just yet. But it's not like I own a lot of them.
Tents a good idea too
I would 100% rock that on my tent....Thank you so much for sharing!
The tent is a good idea, I can see that!
@@AskIveSolar Yes I would hook it up on the top and let it hang on the side of the roof :D
Nice to see another video. Hopefully a live soon!👍
Might do a few videos this week instead. We shall see.

I have a 40 watt version that has ETFE but its a line panel with like 6 folds. And only has 5521 and usb A
Welcome back
Thanks boss

Hello ive, what about using bungee cords on those yellow tabs to hang it
Shoot, I need some bungee cords for my upstairs panel. I wonder how bungee cords would work and would it be worth it for 60 watts.
@@AskIveSolar you could make window sun shades

hahaha @ the commander, just let her know its one of the few hobbies that has ROI!

True. I mean you rarely get full output from anything unless they under rate it.
But super fair point.
Tent poles thru the loops
True dat
I’m thinking of putting it on the top area of my car since I got a coupe, and hang it from the holes and tie it inside somewhere so it don’t fly off.
Under what circumstances. Sounds interesting
Traveling long distance and camping, keeping the battery charged with the panel during the day and the battery always keeping the fridge on
Do you need a solar generator box to charge anything, like can I just charge say like my phone directly on the panel?

Thanks for sharing. Where can I purchase the Flexsolar 60 watts solar panels?
Hi Noreen, there's a link in the description
Cleveland.
True
I would NOT get the Tenergy 60W
panel. It maxes out at 36W and when the panel heats up it gets as low as 10W!
So this is a rebranded tenergy panel. Interesting
Just creat a Tripod, with paracord and 3 branches. Hang it, touching one side of the tripod, and you got adjustable angles too.
Interesting!
for solar panel, you are losing 2~5w for long cable. short is better. or Thick cable
Interesting
They should have made it fold out like the 40w one.
I actually have the 40 watt dip. I'ma make the video soon.
@AskIve Solar Worrks great got one for my family in the Philippines. I feel like I should have got the 60w one for them, but I was also trying to avoid trade tariffs. 🥹👍🇵🇭
Try it on a car windshield, it will give you some angling.
Good point!
🤓🤓🤓
Convenient-looking product, but way overpriced.
