The best-looking Splinter figure ever, no doubt about it. He's changed a lot in all the many iterations of TMNT, but to me, this is the definitive one.
Typically robot figures tend to look best with the heavily articulated figures, so I really like how the soft goods robe hides the seams/joints etc! As someone who drinks Japanese tea every day, the teapot/cup was a neat touch. I am thrilled to see the original comic get some love these days.
Been getting back into TMNT after a good few years now. Have been watching your content since around 2012 with the release of all those TMNT 2012 figures and sets. Been considering getting back into the TMNT collecting hobby and picking up a few figures from the Mirage line. Loving the vids, really darn nostalgic!!
This is amazing and finally we got the Mirage Splinter from NECA and another NECA Utrom figure and baby turtles like the others that came with the NECA Ninja Turtles in 2008. I like his regular rat form like the 2003 one the came with 2003 Hamato Yoshi. I hope we get a NECA Hamato Yoshi too.
@@Pixel-dan are you guys finding it a struggle to find these and other Neca at retail now? In the uk the last toon release we had was the scum bug set. The triceraton and clone mirage figures still have not been released here so Ali is now our go to place
This Master Splinter is spectacular, the only thing I didn't like very much is his short stature, he should be a little taller, excellent figures from TMNT Mirage Comics, very good like those from Neca Cartoon, greetings bro 💪🏻🇦🇷
@@Pixel-dan Well I think I may now. I didn't know how much possibility was in Splinter. But it looks like they put a lot of possibility in such a small figure. What's very interesting and fun. So if I see him at Walmart again I would likely get him. Looks Great 👍
Great review Dan, i would love to pick this guy up but with the price mark being basically 40 and how 40 used to be what the 2 packs would Cost I just can’t seem to pull the trigger
They could always change their minds, but they've said before that they're not going to release them again because you can still get the bootlegs for less than what they'd charge to make new ones.
@@Pixel-dan Collecting the vintage TURTLES is expensive and I also collect other toylines (MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE). I really like other TMNTlines, but they are not so high on my list. Maybe I get to them some day. But I have not unlimited Cash. 😅 Sadly. 😉
This is the reason I hate soft goods on figures. Aside from a wired cape, it just looks like a wash cloth wrapped around a figure. Definitely should have been a sculpted robe.
He's a rat. It probably is a towel or some other discarded cloth that has been repurposed as a robe. 😁 Splinter wasn't known for his sewing skills and I don't recall seeing a sewing machine in their lair. 👍
@@elliotbaltazar the issue is that cloth wrinkles don't scale... So what happens is you get this oversized looking piece of fabric loosely tied to a figure. Sculpting is the Way.
@@tompollockjr144 Very valid points, and there are pros and cons to both styles. There is definitely a lack of cohesion when soft goods are used on figures, but I do love the freedom they introduce to the articulation and usually the weight reduction when compared to sculpted clothing.
Very valid points and opinions here. I actually like the robe but can see why you may not. Having two versions like Super 7 would be a great comprimise however probably would make it more expensive. The fact that you get so many accessories with him is of great value to me!
Who's picking this one up? Leave a comment!
No I looked and it’s empty as crap. Can’t find it anywhere.
I just got mine today!! It's fantastic. Great video/review as always!!
That's great! Thank you for liking the video!

TMNT fans are EATING right now. Has it always been this good? Or is it in the last few years?
Last few years really
Actually we are NOT eating... we can't afford FOOD... because every time we get paid it goes to new figures.
All these figures suck

Love this figure, but now I really need a Mouser army builder pack
Yes! Have to!
He's such a good figure. The size and cloth robe make me think of the vintage Yoda.
Oh that's so true! Did you pick him up?
I picked up one thank God. I wish the NECA mirage line was easier to get as this seems to be the hardest of the NECA lines to find
It's so hard to get them! May have to talk to them about that at Power Con next month! haha

Terrific figure. He looks great with almost any turtle.

Excited to finally get him, held off until I found a good price from a comic shop as was not able to find at local Targets! Awesome pack ins!!! 🐢🐀
TMNT 1987 is my favorite version of the TMNT nothing beats a classic. Keep up the good work your awesome
