It's amazing how M2 went out their way and replaced the MMC mapper with the N163 mapper, making the music you hear here possible. I'm also shocked that this all works on real hardware. Now my only question is, how many channels are used on the N163 in total by this game?
I think according to an oscilloscope video of this theme by another UA-camr, this game uses 4 channels of the N163 expansion chip, only 2 of those are reserved for the sound effects. But, that's just my guess, though.

This does not make it sound better on headphones. It's unnatural, and there's a reason no music creates artificial stereo for an entire song like this. It would've been better to just upload all the songs in mono. That's how they were meant to be heard in the first place.

Yeah it sounds cool, but as i hear it it's not pure NES sound. Probably would have to use the Japanese Castlevania 3 Sound Chip to make it sound like this, if not using a C64 SID outright. IDK i kinda want to hear a true 4 channel NES rendition of this
this is using the Namco sound chip buddy the Namco sound expansion chip (N163) was only used in a few games that were released in Japan only (and games that used the Namco sound chip that were brought over internationally had their sound replaced with the generic NES sounds) so I assume you’ve never knew this

You can get the sounds working on a compatible Everdrive cartridge since it has the necessary sound chips to emulate it.

This is fittingly a more upbeat version of the CE BGM, it is definitely at least loosely based off it.
This music is made using a special Namco mapper chip. Its basically an add-on to the NES located in the cartridge. Man this is impressive.

By either using a Famicom, a Famiclone, or soldering a resistor onto the expansion pins of your NES and a wire on your 60 to 72 pin adapter.
