For this type of braid it would be best to use 8 strands, but there are other braids that can be done with 4. This one is made with 4 pairs (so 8 strands, but taken double each time). It can be made perfectly with 4 strands in the same way: ua-cam.com/video/75ZSzh7iiSY/v-deo.html
Hey, thanks for making the tutorial, it is very good. The only thing I'm struggling to understand is the eye splice, if possible could I get an explanation of how to select where and what cores I am splicing into. Thanks in advance Jack.
Hi Jack, thanks for watching! Unfortunately, we do not have a tutorial in which this is better explained. In the video, the strands go in pairs through the braiding. It does not really matter where you insert the strands: because you will make diamond knots over it, you will not see whether the braiding together was neatly done. Just imitate the video as precisely as possible and make sure to make the diamond knots to secure the handle.
Hi, thank you for your question. Experience has shown that it does not come loose when you tighten the knot very firmly. If you are not sure of your technique, you could tuck the strands back into the braid and then make an extra diamond knot. Hopefully this will help you further. Thanks for watching our videos! 🌈
Hey! We calculated this with our MatchMaker tool (matchmaker.paracord.eu/braid/herringbone). For the 3ft leash, you would need about 12 feet for every paracord 550 colour. For the 6ft leash you need about 24 feet Paracord 550 for every colour. Please make sure to always order/use a bit more than you technically need, because these numbers are based on averages and the lengths can vary slightly with your personal knotting style.
Thank you for watching! We personally like to use a 40 cm piece, so that the handle is about 20 cm long, but you can of course adjust this to personal preference. The length of the entire leash is again a matter of personal preference. A commonly used length is 1.50 metres. With the handle included, you would then braid a total length of 1.70 metres. You can calculate in MatchMaker how much rope you'd then need for each colour: matchmaker.paracord.eu/braid/herringbone
Hi! In this example, it could be used to hang a tag, for example. We have used this ring in the video to explain the technique, but you can decide on its positioning yourself. Thanks for watching 🌈
Dag Roeland.
Succes 🍀
Yeah I really learned a lot with you going in fast motion! And explaining! Everything! Nice!
Thank you for your feedback! We tried to show every step and only speeding up when steps were repeated.
For which part(s) did you miss explanation?
Bem completo! Adorei!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻terei muitas dificuldades, mas vou tentar fazer. Será que posso fazer com 4 cordas em vez de usar 8? Obrigada.

Hi! If you don't close it directly under the diamond knot, won't it unravel? Thanks!

The crochet hook used was a 4mm, correct?
Yes, this was a 4mm hook :)
@@ParacordEU Nice!
The video does not show the total length, but neither the length from the top to the curve nor how long the curve is. Can you tell me? Thank you!

Video gaat echt veel te snel
Hoi Linda! Dankjewel voor het reageren. We snappen dat het voor beginners soms te snel kan lijken. Je kan ervoor kiezen om de video vertraagd te laten afspelen via de instellingen van de youtube video.
Hopelijk lukt het daarmee wel!
