Yes, I am an IB examiner. But it takes a long long time, many years unfortunately, to understand the IB Psychology syllabus from a teaching and assessment point of view. My students in my first couple of years would tell you I knew very little back then! This is why I make these videos - to save some other people the hassle I went through of deciphering the requirements.
I’ve heard that the IB are adding more subject detailed SAQs to May 2020 exams like “explain the role of one agonist using one study” how would you suggest we study for these?
That's correct. My students will be memorizing the definitions of those SAQ terms and then explaining how they might be relevant to the studies we are already learning about. To learn about new studies for all of those terms might result in drowning in information and doing poorly.
Hi there! Just to clarify- is being directly tested on research methods just for HL students on paper 3 or can it appear as a question for SL students as well in paper 2!?
Research methods and ethics questions can be asked in SL Paper 1 and 2, as well. They are linked to the topics. See our exam question banks on our blog for more info and example exam questions: www.themantic-education.com/ibpsych/2019/04/17/exam-question-bank-paper-1-biological-approach/
Hi there! Just curious as to how you know so much more than my teachers. No seriously, were you the former IB psychology examiner or something...?
