He sure seems happy doing what he’s doing where he’s at.

He has everything he wants in Detroit it's no reason for him to follow the national media that wants to throw him to the wolves.

Everything? I’m sure he wants to be a head coach at some point. It’s just a matter of time. His family will be fine with the pay raise.

@@roems6396 Everything for now, but yes, has to move on at some point. He’s only been an OC for 3 seasons and he probably still has some learning and growing to do at the NFL level.

I don’t get why people assume everyone wants to be a HC. If that was my gig, I’d stay there. Seems like a great place to work. Doesn’t have to handle the HC stuff, especially if he wants to keep doing OC work. Learn more. Relax with your young family in Detroit. Then take a good gig.

Ben is loved and appreciated in Detroit. Total creative freedom and a loaded offensive toolbox. Very supportive culture with stability. Shiela has also made sure he is paid. I don't see any job that meets his requirements, except perhaps Jacksonville. I don't think he leaves, especially if the Lions don't win the Super Bowl.

Nice job on explaining what is really going on with Ben Johnson.

Ben Johnson seems like a very thoughtful and strategic person. He puts in a lot of time thinking and besides everything that was listed here there would have to be a match between him and the QB. The QB would have to be more than just talented but he would have to have a high football IQ and be a thinker who can process information. I think that is why he and Goff get along so well. Brady is a thinking QB as an example. Listen to Ben Johnson talk and you can tell he places a lot on thinking, reflecting and changing. That is a difficult combination, maybe he is a a perfectionist. I think an organization like the Cowboys would not give him that kind of freedom to operate.

I don’t know a OC and DC who are as loved by city as Ben and Glenn are. We all hope they don’t leave, but it’s not about that right now. It’s about winning a championship at this moment.

It’s what coordinators do. No one remembers the coordinators of SB teams. Sure, some are more high profile than others. He definitely is one of the more well known ones, so maybe he would be remembered outside of Detroit.

I’ve thought there is no way possible until you see the jobs that are going to be available. If Agnew ends up somewhere with a QB maybe he ends up there, but if you’re hiring a new GM your QB situation is likely a mess.

Lets say the dream continues and the Lions win the next two SB's. Add to that Jerry world keeps McCarthy around for 2025. I can see Dan going home to Texas to coach the cowboys and we here in Detroit don't miss a beat as Ben Johnson takes over as head coach of the Detroit Lions....... Now back to reality. Let's go Lions, beat the Bills and as always, FTP!

So many OCs get head coaching jobs and fail for some reason.

This Lions dynamic is the standard for American commerce for regaining Public Trust. Sheila needs to closely associate how ethical best practices build free markets vs how taking public money in the form of subsidies offers fast money but costs free markets leading to damage across the entire free market. Ford needs to adapt the Lions model as a new American standard and produce vehicles to create free market opportunities and thus create the value chain across market segments to break the greed spree and stop the grand collusion that is harming the entire world. I have an engine that would help the world because it restores the roar of public trust so who’s willing to hear me out?

@korodski if he's looking for the perfect job he will never leave. I don't think the Chiefs job is opening up any time soon. Unless he thinks he's not capable or doesn't want to be a head coach then he will stay.
