Seems like years ago now. Jackie's 2018 release of Caruso was incredible. Ombra Mai Fu was such a beautiful air for her to sing. Too many people have forgotten how brilliant this child was, but she provided some Golden Moments in the story of music, and continues to do so.
We don't forget her... such an angelic voice...
It is very difficult to find so many talent and beauty in the history of the world, congratulations for your talent. May God fill you with blessings and happiness.
Perhaps the greatest singer of our age, Jackie, combined with the perhaps greatest producer of our age, David Foster. Even one performance like this would make any singers career, and Jackie had at least 4 more from that Dream With Me Concert that are equally great, and she did it at only 10/11. Today she is an even better singer (if that is possible when you see this), but it is hard to recreate the incredibly magic she had when she performed with Foster here.
So my sister tells me that this can't be Jackie's real voice so I showed her the Tiny Desk Concert (NPR) and her jaw dropped to the ground. No one can sing like this beautifully, well JME can and does.
She sang it again in 2020, from a room at home. When everything was locked down, and she could not get out for her concerts, or to a recording studio. No orchestra, not even a piano, just a home mike. It still sounded incredible.
especially since the tiny desk concert was performed in an acoustical nightmare of a room with no additional sound processing.
@@jordannash1998 My exact thought's but Jackie was able to sing right through the nightmare without a hiccup. That was the amazing part.
Ms. Evancho has a way of giving us such pleasure. I'm still amazed by her exceptional talent.
12.Apr.2019: Not sure if it was her youth or song "style" choice. This was a performance my couldn't keep my eyes dry thru! Today she still sings lovely for age 19 but her song choices don't evoke the same soul, feelings & emotions they did when she was a child. What she gave us then was priceless 😭.
I disagree, I heard her sing this in concert and is was beyond moving. To each his own.
She is still incredibly good when she sings these types of songs, its just there are only so many classic songs this good out there, so she has to look for other choices to stay new.
In a repertoire of over 120 songs OMF is one of only three arias. The "soul, feelings & emotions" she evoked as a youth have not diminished for me because she is older. It's the child prodigy phenomenon that some are so attached to that they cannot realistically appreciate her adult voice even though she has retained all those qualities that are uniquely hers but with greater power, control and finesse, and of course a richer quality. Perhaps it's her song choices that don't appeal to you as much. To me, what makes Jackie an exceptional talent besides her exquisite voice is her versatility, crossing several genres with exceptional interpretive skill, committed to each song with the same genuine emotion. She has no equal in that regard. Nevertheless, what she gave us as a child will always have special significance and stir emotions that come only from that phenomenon of youth.

I would encourage all Jackie fans to visit the video of her rendition of "How Great Thou Art," performed live in Pittsburgh at her December 2, 2022 Christmas Show. It's an excellent recording, provides a close-up of Jackie throughout, and stands as a splendid visual and aural depiction of who and what Jackie is all about as a young adult. She will be great for many years to come.👑❤
This young Lady has learned so much more about her craft, in these last few years. Her breathing is remarkably better and her diction is greatly improved. This was beautiful , longing for more.
One of my all time favorite songs from this album, a combination of Jackie's total mastery of her voice and the thrill of being on stage brought forth a magnificent performance in which she pulled up extraordinary beauty from this piece of music that stunned her fans.

At 3.17 I’ve never heard an audience so quiet, not one cough, there’s always someone coughing, absolute silence.
Yes Dean & that's the main difference I've noticed, comparing her then to now. She sings beautifully now, but lacks the emotions & dynamics she sang with as a child. I've gotten the impression she's "muting" everything down now. Where's that incredible strength, coming from her heart & soul gone to?
@bruschmidt9943 I remember an interview with Jackie not very long after America's Got Talent. The interviewer asked her if she was worried about anything as she embarked on this new career. She said she was worried people wouldn't want to hear her sing once she wasn't a little kid anymore. She was bright enough to know that most people, Americans in particular, are obsessed with the shiny new toy but soon lose interest (in the tiny child with the freakishly good voice). In an effort to remain relevant, she constantly changes direction. While classical crossover shows off her voice the most, I think her voice singing very ordinary music is still extraordinarily beautiful. This is why the passion is gone - it's our fault, not hers.
@@bruschmidt9943 I think where we see Jackie's strength today is in concert. When she was a child she would sing maybe a dozen songs. Today her live performances give us twice as many. Just before the halftime intermission she usually brings the house down by singing "How Great Thou Art" with a glorious ending. And then, after giving us another dozen or so performances in Act 2, she closes with her medley of "O Mio Babbino Caro" and "Nessun Dorma," with the higher-than-everyone-else ending. Amazing, how does she do it? I think Jackie picks her spots, she does not go full bore all the time, and her songs cover a much wider range of genres. Her strength is in the maturity and versatility of her voice. 👑💗
Although Jackie's voice has matured wonderfully I sometimes miss the innocence of her more youthful voice...glad I have several of her early CD's to listen to. Still, I'm anxiously waiting for her next CD.

Jackie Evancho is gifted beyond measure.
Yes, and not just incredibly gifted, but she also had a huge work ethic, intelligence, and determination, to take full advantage of that gift. She had worked incredibly hard, for 2 yrs, without much recognition, performing anywhere she could, to get ready for AGT. And then worked even harder, getting ready for her concert and album, with Foster. Some have the gift, some have the work ethic, intelligence, and determination. To reach Jackies level, you must have a full measure of both.
I simply cannot listen to this without crying.
It's just just heavenly.

No female singer can emulate the tone of her voice and how she has mastered using it. Every fan of hers needs to purchase what she has produced and advertise her work on their sites.
I've purchased everything in doubles but the Prelude to a Dream C.D. I seen on Ebay (Brand New) was 5 grand; a little out of my price range. I've listened to all the great female vocalists and IMO no one carries a tune like JME.

Sorry, I mistook your meaning. I am certain that she could and I wish that she would. It is one of my favourites. Firs heard as "Liberta" by Arielle Dombasle and thought that was good. Pales into insignificance after hearing so many beautiful renditions but I am sure that Jackie could provide us with her unique slant on it. The purity of her voice is exquisite.

For anyone who thinks Jackie can't sing opera, this performance should disabuse them of that notion. I just listened to Patricia Janečková do a live presentation of this (2017). Jackie's performance here (~2011-2012) holds up. Patricia Janečková is pretty much full time opera ans is as good ad any out there in classical performance but does not crossover. like Jackie does. There are other live performances of this sing by Jackie that post date this performance and places her closer in age to the Patricia Janečková performance. They hold up even when the acoustic in the hall she is performing aren't the best. Amira Willighagen also does this song but her voice seems to have changed. The first two here do a better job.
[KingPetra] Actually this performance occurred in March or April of 2011. I think the cd was recorded when Jackie was 10 and the dvd of the concert in Florida was recorded just after Jackie's 11th birthday which is the 9th of April.
And I agree with your assessment of Amira. Listening to her performances that are on you-tube from her Holland GT to 12 years old you can hear the improvement. Now what I hear is a voice she cannot control, a voice that tends to wander and the inability to hold a note for any length of time.

Не за что. На Ютубе есть несколько вариантов этой арии в исполнении Джеки. Но именно выступление на телешоу в Японии самое насыщенное по звуку. Есть, конечно, шероховатости, плевочки в микрофон и т. д. Но в целом - вау! Она здесь сияет во всех смыслах.

Just the most pure beautiful voice. God gave her the tools to sing. She uses them all not because she came out of the womb singing like an angel but because she had all the tools to do what people? Practice practice practice along with parents who raised her well and a singing teacher that showed her the tool and how to use the tools god gave her but geez people give her some credit for the hour after hour she practiced and practiced..so many ppl have the god given tools to do all kinds of things but if you dont use the tools and practice practice practice. You end up wasting your talent. Jackie however had the tools, and used those god given tools but she also worked and profected her art

But she might have remained obscure, except for her equally incredible work ethic, to constantly practice, perform in numerous small forums and competitions, learn her craft, and refine that perfect voice, into an unforgettable performer, who never disappoints an audience. Foster remarked on that, that he was not only floored by her voice, but by her incredible work ethic, her understanding of music, and determination to learn and improve, as well.
Some are born with the perfect gift, some have the perfect work ethic, to be Jackies caliber, you must have both, to become the perfect performer

She's an 11 year old American girl from Pittsburgh who sings in 5 different languages.....English, Italian, French, Latin and Japanese. I think we can forgive an "R".....lol.

That is definitely her singing. At that age (11) she had to work to sound more mature. Now at 20 years old her voice is naturally mature and everything is easier for her. She even spoke about it a concert I attended.
