I own a 2005 with V8. I like it quite a bit but there have been issues. Cooling system parts made from plastic that develop tiny fractures and leak, though not that common. The coils have been a constant problem, not really sure why but I have replaced them a couple times. Engine light comes on and the code is kind of vague as to what the problem is. Also, I think this is the best advice I can give: twice a year, take your LS on a long trip, and let it stretch its legs. Take it up to 75 or greater and let it exercise. I really believe it helps keep things in order. Maybe it's just me but I believe it helps. This is not a car that does well going to the supermarket and back, it needs to get out and zoom! Edit a year later: I did take the fuel injectors out and had them serviced also replaced the fuel filter. That was a couple years ago and have had no problems with coils or anything else. So if you're getting weird codes regarding coils you might want to service those fuel injectors. Just a note for our noble video maker here, it is Jag-u-ar or Jag-uwor, definitely not Jag-wire.

Ive had mine for 10 years. No major issues since owning. Parts arent too expensive. I mix gas with no problem. Doesnt look dated which I knew would be the pay off. Still a Ford so plastic parts are failing. Im not one bit tired of it.

I had a LS V8 Sport, loaded with Alpine sound (marginal), sunroof, etc. Always thought it looked nice, it was surprisingly quick (very quick in fact for the time), got horrible gas mileage, handled quite well - and while it was a couple inches too long in the trunk, and a little wider than it might have been, it could carve corners better than the Audi I replaced it with and equaled the 5 series that came after that. Unfortunately the driver's seat was impossible, materials cheap, cabin small for exterior size - and it needed too much maintenance. Lincoln should have stuck it out an developed it, but instead given a light facelift, some worthwhile mechanical improvements and then left to die and be replaced by ... the Zephyr. Yeah, who remembers that. A Fusion in drag.

Hahaha, I have a 2000 LS V8 Sport and actually also just picked up a mind bogglingly straight 1981 Mercury Zephyr Fox Body and it's actually about to get the Lincoln LS power train. Both awesome cars! After replacing the front and rear brakes, oil change with engine restorer the LS gave me ZERO problems for over 4 years, it was the ex wife overheating it that caused any problems but it loved to eat coils after overheating. I had to reflash the ECM on my own cause after going to 5 different Ford and Lincoln dealerships that just plain didn't understand the concept of REFLASHING AN ECM (REWRITING THE PROGRAM) 😳😧🤯😡 Not a stitch of problems afterwards.

I just barely purchased a '06 LS last week. It has 73,000 miles on it. I'm looking forward to driving it. When I went through a canyon driving it home, I was more than pleased on how it handled corners. And I got a great deal on it for $4,400. This is great since there is a huge mark up on used cars right now. The only thing wrong with it when I bought it was, the AC wasn't blowing cold air. I have an appointment tomorrow to have it serviced for that.
And I thought the narrator did an excellent job describing the features and comparisons. Two thumbs up on your presentation!

If you find one that has not been beaten to death you will have a very good car. However, most of them have been driven to death with no maintenance and of course it is going to turn into a money pit. As far as ageing well I would have to give it a perfect 10 as mine looks and drives the same as the day I bought it. Of course I have taken very good care of mine with it getting regular wax jobs and leather treatment. I have the oil changed every 3000 whether it needs it or not and I only run Premium through it.

@@danielkammer3244 The LS rides really nice and I just enjoy driving it. If you search, you’ll find that there are certain things people say go bad…and they are pretty spot on. Here are things I’ve had to fix. This might seem like a lot, but spread over four years, it isn’t bad. And, I have a totally reliable car.
The dual climate control valve. Funny story…in August 2018 I headed off for Florida from Virginia to visit friends. The valve went bad and when it does, it defaults into the full heat position. I drove about 800 miles with the heat on and no A/C with outside temps over 90. The fan wasn’t on blowing heat, but the heater core was hot and radiating through the trim by my feet. At that time, I didn’t know what a DCCV was. I took it to the Ford dealer in Panama City and they figured out the problem, and replaced the valve. Excellent work.
Misfiring cylinder. I started having a misfiring cylinder. Of course it was a coil that is not easily reached on the V6. My mechanic replaced all of the spark plugs and coils with OEM Motorcraft parts. That was maybe three years ago and still running smooth as silk.
The A/C compressor. It gave out and replaced it with an aftermarket one.
Last year, the low oil pressure light started coming on once in a while when the car would idle. The problem was the oil pressure sensor. Replaced it and haven’t had a problem since.
The clock spring. I started having problems with the cruise control not working properly. The radio controls on the steering wheel stopped working. Then the horn was sometimes working and then not. Then the air bag warning light came on. I called the Ford dealer here and the parts guy said it sounded like the clock spring went bad. Doing some research, I confirmed this. I purchased an OEM Ford clock spring on E-bay for a good price. I replace it myself one nice afternoon last November. Everything has been working fine ever since. I had watched a number of youtube videos on how to do this. If you do ever replace the clock spring, I suggest that you take a picture of each step, or write down each thing you do, so that you can put everything back together in reverse order. There are just a lot of steps. I’m not a mechanic, but I wanted to try this myself. The Goodyear place where I bought my tires wanted almost $700. I did it for the price of the clock spring which was less than $200.
I also had water leaking in behind the carpet on the driver’s side. I’m pretty sure the problem was that the drain line under the wiper trim on the driver’s side was totally clogged with dirt and leaves. I managed to get it flowing. I haven’t had a problem since. But in heavy rains, I put some plastic sheeting over the front of the car to keep water off.
I have also made several videos about my LS. My channel is bestgirlsdad.

@@scottcheffey2571 nah only the 04/05 LSE will look like the 06 as far as the front facia. The LSE had the round fog lights body color grilled and different bumper cover surround all of which was standard on the 2006 which was the last model year. The regular 03-05 has a different look

My honest opinion is that it should have been the new 2000 Mercury Cougar not the bland "LS" moniker Lincoln gave it. The front of the car looks utterly SINISTER LIKE A BIG CAT THE COUGAR WAS BASED ON! Especially if it's lowered like I did installing Eibach Pro springs in it. Not that it needed such a serious upgrade in the handling department cause I held way more speed through corners on a road course than a late model Mustang GT and damn Parnelli Jones Mustang. I would be deep trunk in the Parnelli Jones and the GT just couldn't keep up through every corner. I think honestly it was more just timid drivers in those cars than anything else. I still hit 145mph in the straightaways.

This car is a lemon, never will i buy one of these money pits again, you have been warned.
