Man!! My first language is Spanish and terms and new words make me feel overwhelmed honestly but it makes me feel better to know that there is people like me who might have to read something twice or even three times to understand, love your content man! Thanks!!
Private pilot here. 100% study on your own for the written. If you’re consistently getting over 90% on your practice exams on King Air then you will pass the written with flying colors. Good luck!
Nice bro lol I have 1 flight review then my stage check still have to take my written test might take what you said and study hard for 2 weeks just to refresh myself and take the exam!
Just curious how similar these practice exams are to the real thing. Haha But yeah I don’t think I’m going to take the test prep through the school. 600 bucks is way too much.
@@irubenguler They are close enough from what I understand. If you get 80% or better on practice exams you should pass the written....that's the word on the street at last!
Hey! I've been following since week one! I start flight school full time April 22nd! Im excited to be able to be flying almost every day! Keep up your journey! The flight school I'm going to requires the writtens done before you start. I did Kings School for ground training for PPL/Instrument etc. and then after your PPL written use Sheppard Air for Test Prep on all other writtens (instrument etc)!
@irubenguler for the most part, I went through most of Kings Schools practice questions and all Sportys practice test banks (i liked how they gave explanations better) before taking the private test. I probably over-studied but I got a 97% on it. I definitely spent the time to try to understand the questions I didn't know when going through it
I’m sorry to bombard you with so many comments on day one of watching your channel, but I just wanna say thank you for not putting any music in any of the videos because that is the best! what I tell other UA-camrs is that I can always turn on my radio to interrupt and lose focus on what the UA-camr is saying lol…
Private pilot here and finishing up Instrument. Whatever you do, do not pay 600 for ground school. You have to remember these part 141 flight schools are a business. Their sole purpose is to bring in money first, don't fall for it. Thats why part 61 is more favored. All you need to Sheppard Air for your written tests since they take real questions from the actual tests.
What's up, Ruben?! Good videos talking about how it is the beginning of training... Continue with the good work!!! My only advice is to buy a microphone for your videos, or even try to record with an iPhone microphone, doesn't need to be an expensive one. It will increase your video quality a LOT! I`m finishing my CFI training! Hopefully within a week or two. See you in the skies.. keep flying!
Would you say the motion sickness has gotten better as you've been flying? I know you discussed before that you had motion sickness patches in your bag, but I missed if that was just for certain maneuvers or if it was for flying in general.
At the beginning it was just in general, but now I never get sick haha. I also still use the patches every time I fly. I haven’t tried flying without the patches.
Doing Jeppessen here, extremely and informative. I myself planning on taking the written exam at the end of this month. With that said; forget the haters, they usually aren’t where they want to be at in life if they’re giving negative bad energy out to the world!
I studied on my own for my PPL written and I got a 92. My school also used Kings and I kept taking their practice exams until I consistently scored at least a 90 on 3 practice exams in a row. They were pretty close to the real thing, so if you can do that too you'll be good. For all the other writtens later down the road, I highly recommend using Sheppard Air to study for them.
Let’s go bro you progressing really fast. I’m push to start later in the summer. Can you include in a video how you tackled the paying for school part?
Hey Ruben I got my private Feb 22nd; absolutely don’t pay that much money for studying the written. You can do it yourself just with consistently studying. The written is the easiest part of getting you license. Most of the practice test will be almost the exact question on the real written
I'm taking my written on April 17th on my own too (I'll get back to training after that)! I heard people finding success with Kings, I'm personally doing Sporty's. As long as we go beyond just remote memorization we should be alright. Good luck to us bro! Don't let the haters get to you, Ruben. Thanks again for the content, relatable as always. Before I paused training, I was also struggling with radios. (I'll probably stumble a bit again when I get back). What helped me besides listening to liveatc was the ARSim app, it's like duolingo for aviation LOL. I suggest giving that a look, you can also customize the tailsign in the app to match the one you use.
Ruben you've proved yourself with these quality videos thank you! Going to begin my first flight lesson this upcoming Monday! I think I am going to start with 3x a week; do you have any suggestions, how many times a week do you train?
Hey Ruben, I’m SO CLOSE to starting flights and so pumped and I want to talk about my plans and ground school and buying supplies with anyone within earshot, but I’ve been trying to temper that urge for their sake. Anyway, watching your updates each week has been a good outlet for that energy, so thanks! VFR charts are such a mess. I’m looking forward to learning how to decipher them. Have you mainly been staying in the pattern at your airport so far? Have you done any turns around a point or s-turns? Compensating for wind while making constant turns seems pretty mind-melty. Even just making proper turns within the pattern on a gusty day seems like it would be tough at first.
Nice man! Forgot if you mentioned if you're doing 141 or 61? Are you working or just doing flight school full time? I did my PPL written back in December on my own before I start full time flight training. Gold Seal and Kings practice tests helped immensely, got a 92 🤙
@@irubenguler yeah I'd say so, they're basically the same thing. I agree with people that say if you can pass 3 practice tests in a row at 90% or better, you're ready
Hello I’m still in high school and I want to know what I should do to be on course to flight school. Do I need to get a degree in anything or do I go to flight school immediately after high school? Love the content btw
First thing I would do is go to a local flight school and ask to get a discovery flight, it might be about 150 bucks. I recommend doing about 2 or 3 of those to see if being a pilot is for you, get a feel for the plane, you’ll learn some things. After that, go get your medical to see if you’re medically able to even do this career. If all that checks out, go ahead and sign up at one of these fast track schools! You don’t need a degree. All the airlines care about now is the hours you have in the plane.
The mechanic had the cowling off the plane...not the cover...lol Take the written on your own. You'll pass and save the $. I did King's for IFR and hated it. I thought the vids were dated and monotonous. I used Prepware for my private just because it was the cheapest out there. Don't sweat the armchair pilots, bro. You do you!
you don't need ground school "class" for pp; if you're a literate adult with basic high school education.... 600 for a weekend school, thats pure scam.

But when I get… I GET IT. lol
