IDAHO FALLS -- A new online shopping platform has quickly become the most downloaded app in the United States, surpassing Amazon and Walmart.
Temu, a Boston-based online retailer that shares the same owner as Chinese social commerce giant Pinduoduo, is a superstore that sells virtually everything - from home goods to apparel to electronics - at bargain prices.
Some examples: a woman’s swimsuit on Temu costs just $6.50, a pair of wireless earphones is priced at $8.50 and you can get an eyebrow trimmer for 90 cents.
Free shipping is offered with a customer's first three orders and is often included on sales or promos. If a package does not arrive on time, Temu gives customers a $5 credit. Free gifts, coupon codes and steep discounts are often offered across the site.
Many customers have wondered if the business is too good to be true and if the items sold on Temu are quality products.
EastIdahoNews.com decided to put the site to the test. We purchased a variety of random items and the packages arrived this week. Check out the video in the player above to see the results of our experiment.
You can learn more about Temu and download the app here: temu.com/s/YapmDLYYaMC6cfC
You should send these out to be tested for lead, heavy metals, and other harmful chemicals. Tests of product from similar outlets like this come back as highly toxic. It could make an interesting follow up story.
Literally came here to say this. God knows how many toxins are being sent over with that crap.
I absolutely agree; it would be so interesting to review the findings!!
@@Samdie440 I think it all comes from China.
Do you have everything tested like that? Where do you think your products in your country come from? China, Korea etc. Same old same.😁
I agree. Sounds like it stinks and yes, toxins cover everything that you both received. YICKERS !!!!!
I really am trying to support the American economy by purchasing "Made in USA" products, which are more expensive because we have to pay fair cost of living wage & can't employ 9 & 10 year old child labor like in China. I get it that some folks can't afford to pay more money for their goods. But if this kind of shopping puts USA made products & companies out of business, that could be the job that your husband, wife, son, daughter or friends need to have to support their lives here in the US. I'm trying to purchase better made, longer lasting items that may cost more up front, but won't be as much of a burden for our landfills in the future. Plus, probably another big thing to consider is the type of lack of honest from China on the chemicals they use & plastics that are banned in USA are not regulated the same. I a sucker for a good deal too ... but I don't think in the long run these are good deals. That's why this is a free country, everyone gets to decide for their own family & lives. Just my thoughts for my own home & family. Thanks for the review of the items East Idaho News ... you folks are wonderful!
I agree with you however, many, many “American made” companies have been allowed to operate in other countries. But, by having one small component made in the US, congress has deemed them to be “made in America.” While 90% of the products are made elsewhere, these companies have the privilege of being deemed “American” and are not subject to any foreign tariffs.
Temus made in China. Lies if it says Canada, or USA. I really try to stick with Made in America as well, but it’s impossible.
Agree 🎯
My thoughts on this is this is stuff I would find in a dollar store...one of those cheap cheap Chinese dollar stores. I was wondering if these things have chemicals that will rub off on our skin that we may not be aware of? Then she said oh yeah when I opened the box I got this chemical smell... Well glad she said that because if you can smell them that is definitely not a good thing. Answers my questions. I try not to buy anything online and also look for made in the USA items. I have also boycotted Wal-Mart as well for the way they treat their employees.
I agree completely!! Looks like junk.
Thank you guys. This was an eye opener about consumerism. We can't use plastic grocery bags but we can import all sorts of thick plastic that end up in our landfills and water supply. The chemical smells are a warning according to our senses but we breath it in anyways? Tons of chemicals imported with our consent so we actually asked for it. So glad I am in the stage of life where I want to get rid of things, not buy them. This was a great segment, thank you for doing it.
I agree completely and I am in the same stage, purging, purging, purging. All my stuff gets donated to our local animal shelter and I am trying so hard to keep from buying anything plastic. I even told my daughter, I should open a store called, "No Plastic", all sourced from natural products, packaged in paper, no plastic of any sort in the store. This was a good video, just mind blowing what things people buy online like this.
I was attracted to art stuff pictures not clothes but I never share my bank. Info. With anyone so they sure have neat. Stuff. But so much is made in China really expensive things I am picky what I like don't understand the spin the wheel $300 but just coupons. I 🤔
Who is not using plastic bags? A totally failed program. I never had so many plastic bags since the ban. Those new reusable ( actually used once) plastic bags have TWENTY TIMES the plastic as the original bags. A failed effort.

Nothing is for free guys. You have given TEMU valuable information about yourself. Is much more worth then a couple op hair clips for them.
The fact that you mentioned the smell more than once raised concerns for me.
I agree! I've smelled that in certain stores and will not buy such items! It was
mainly footwear, man-made materials from China.
Polyester junk. Make sure you wash everything before wearing.
@@dogmama2many It will never wash out unfortunately.
All I do is leave them out for a few hours and the smell goes away
I've bought clothes from Shein in the past before the truth came out.. I bought some clothes from temu .. both Stores clothes made my skin burn sting and itch until I washed them? I know Shein was in trouble for using lead and mercury I'm hoping better for temu! My boyfriend thought maybe it were the type of detergent they use but why would they wash something unless it were used? Anyways what are your opinions?
What I got from this video is that Nate should be supervised when shopping online.
😂
Yes he bought really random stupid things! Just my opinion.
OH AND CHEAP CAN COME OUT EXSPENSIVE 🤔😏🙄😪✅
In general, women tend have the shopping thing down to a science.
Yeah he should not have a credit card 😂😂😂
Right now, you've given the Chinese full access to all your information. Everything you own is now on their radar. EVERYTHING!
@annettegerage4478 unbelievable how many people don’t understand your statement… downing loading TikTok, Temu and so on is a danger to National security… I wanted a heated cathouse; looked up company before clicking and it was mainland China but website itself appeared perfectly fine US business… wtf
Yes lots of fraud after using this site.
Yes, this is really a fraud site, potentially. Free stuff. Remember the old adage "there is no free lunch?" Putting that app on your phone means you are subject to Chinese hacking at any moment. And who are the world's leading hackers? The Chinese.
How about Walmart? The Chinese own Walmart Ana if you are shopping there, no different. I but all my clothes from there now and love them! The quality is better than Walmart and even Bealls.
@@wendicoe6748 yes but downloading their apps gives them access to your electronics, basically putting a spy in your home
No matter where you buy your clothes from, you should always laundry them first before wearing them. That goes for everything.
Yes, agreed but despite horrible chemicals in clothing, they were the cheapest of the cheep with fabrics so thin and falling apart! Lesson learned, buy North American! !
The scary part that I didn't like was that the smell of chemicals was strong!!!!!! That's not a good sign. I don't even think washing them 10x would eliminate the chemicals. Be careful as "FOREVER CHEMICALS" are bad.
I think Nate should send everything he got back to find out if the "free shipping" is legit and find out if he gets all of his money back.
I would also check if those Nintendo tags are legit. China is a known counterfeit country.
Thanks for ordering so we didn't have to.
It's definitely free to return any item.
I wouldn’t either I HATE made in China and will not willingly support anything from there, so toxic, those dollar stores you walk in that stink of chemicals I walk straight out 🤢🤢🤢🤢 quality over cost, you get what you pay for …
China has no law's prohibiting the use of harmful chemicals. I would not order a thing from temu.
@@lynnegackstetter2779 agree, everything from there is so toxic, I get sooooooooo angry our stupid PM is so busy putting his nose up China we get ALL their TOXIC CRAP THEY WONT EAT….THEN HAS THE HIDE TO EXPORT ALL OUR GOOD STUFF. They don’t give a stuff all these chemicals are BANNED in Australia but allows them to be imported from that toxic China. It’s getting so difficult to buy food that’s NOT CHINA ! Should be a law against exporting everything to China. 😡😡😡
I would throw a away anything that smells like chemical, I got a household gloves, nice and went all the way up the arm but the small I can't.
This helped me decide not to buy from them. Thank You for doing the work for me 👍🏼
Do you realize the products you buy daily are manufactured in China ...🤦♀️.
I totally agree. I had very bad experiences with WISH. These people are the same.😊
Your loss.
@@SuzzyB52 They are not the same as wish. I have several acquaintances that buy from Temu and sell on Amazon, in fact if you use common sense in what you order you won't be disappointed.
@@michellewilloby8448 Exactly! What's not made in China?
I'll never order from a Chinese site. Don't care how good the deal is. They rip you off, have toxic crap in the manufacturing process, and often it takes months to get your item if the even send it out.
You go to stores and buy things made in China not only that a lot of stores purchase the merchandise from China that been forever why you want to stop now how many shirts u got was made in china
Toxic crap maybe, but I have found the quality of the products I have purchased to be superior to Walmart and much less expensive. I have never had to wait more than a week.
@@VeronicaNewburg and now a nefarious Chinese entity has all your info
Have been 99% satisfied with every purchase.
You do have to check the size of the items, like her scarf, should have measured.
I think all the stuff looked cheap. Dollar store quality.
My instincts tell me not to purchase anything from Tamu. I’m very tempted because the things they advertise are really cool. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. 😑
At the risk of sounding like a conspiracy theorist, I feel like there’s something nefarious happening with this app.
That is exactly what my instincts tell me too. I was tempted, but then I decided no.
Same same! I’ve gone in app 6 different times and back out during checkout time
But the conspiracy theorist have been correct..you may notice if your news is legit
I agree. I believe they may be collecting financial info and selling whatever for whatever price since it's their secondary goal.
I agree, I feel like China looks for American weaknesses (in this case, bargains) and exploits them.
Be careful with the power strip. Lost my desktop computer to a non certified power strip. If they aren’t safety certified in the US or Canada they likely don’t meet our standards. I’ve also heard of fires starting because of them.
good to know, thanks. Rose from Texas
Yes, I would not use anything electric from these companies.
This is another good point. Same goes for cell phone charging cords.
The first thing I thought of was DO NOT USE that power strip.
Technically a “power strip” isn’t required to protect from surges, it just extends the number of things that can be plugged into the outlet. A surge protector however does have to be certified and meet more stringent safety requirements so that normal appliances like computers, printers, TVs won’t blow out during a powe surge. At the very least you can tell a strip is not a protector if it has only 2 prongs 🔌. Also, from my experience the surge protector has a switch which has to be turned on in order to protect your stuff.
The difference in a man shopping and a woman is amazing. Dude really picked out some bad items! Good job, lady😂
I am absolutely not using this. I believe this is a problem waiting to happen. If it is too cheap to believe, beware.
EVERYTHING from Temu is made in and shipped from, China. So if you’re not a big fan of purchasing “Made in China” products Temu is not the sight to shop. I placed 2 different orders from Temu and had about a 50/50 good/bad experience. By the time you go through packaging and paying for return shipping, given the price you pay for their merch, it’s really not worth it. Also watch the sizes, especially on their shoes!
This was a fun video to watch. Thank you Nate and Kaitlyn. Personally, I will not be ordering from this sight again.
Oh! By the way, EVERYTHING ships in the orange plastic bags so I would suggest not ordering anything fragile/breakable. Also your bag will come super taped up because all packages go through customs and are opened and inspected.
Most things you buy from WalMart, Amazon, etc. are made in China too. I had a broken item and went on the TEMU site and told them it was broken. The refund was made quickly and they said I didn't need to return it. I ordered a pair of slippers and they were good quality but had one loose stitch. I requested a return and they sent a prepaid shipping label and repunded the purchase.
You can return anything you buy free. They don't charge shipping to return anything.
I've never been charged for returns. They are really really good about no-hassle returns. Not sure why you were charged. My bags have never been all taped together either. EVERYTHING was packaged well.
Temu is a Chinese company so the money goes to China, it took me 5 minutes on Internet to find on the Temu belongs to PPD 😊holdings is definitely Chinese
Yeah, as far as buying physical products goes (excluding food and digital content), Amazon is basically temu as far as selling mostly fake or mock products made and sold by companies that popup for a short time, sell imitation stuff and then disappear. The names and descriptions are sus because they’re poorly worded and often incongruent as a whole.
You just cured me of any desire I had to buy from TEMU!🤣
I'm thinking they actually need someone to shop for them, that has decent taste on what they're ordering.
Yeah there's no way I would have paid $50 for that crap she got. His stuff is even worse; that many scrub brushes for 2 bucks was good. 😂
I’ve ordered from Temu like 3 Times and the last time only because they kept sending me offers BUT the shirts I got were all nylon/polyester type and I don’t like that I prefer some cotton in my t-shirts
Most of the items I got were mostly cheap quality!!!
And I spent over $200 on my first 2 orders.
I’m done with Temu, this stuff if cheap low quality that China must have in storage somewhere that they don’t want and said, “yeah the American people will buy it, after all, everything they have, we made!” 😂😂😂😂
They are laughing all the way to the bank! 😮😢
Me too!!
Wise decision 👌
I've ordered all kinds of things from there and have been very satisfied overall. I must say their customer service is excellent. For the small number of items I had issues with, they were phenomenal about fixing the problem. I even reported a package that had been stolen off my porch and they credited me for it.
Thanks for doing this video. Outstanding.
PS-Nate, might want to stick to the dollar stores.:)
Me too..if problem ,they givwme credit man right away
I have used Temu for a year and the products are great and wear well, work well and are great. Never had a problem with any of the things I got there.
Same here. I have no problem with the clothes and love the earrings. My son loves when I shop because he always gets something.
Not to be a downer, but all I can think of is a sweatshop. Love all you do.
China
I think of all the people being tortured to make these things 😭💔
then take a look closer at American retailers too
No matter where we buy stuff it’s still all made in china. Only our gov’t can stop this if manufacturer would stop buying from china and make stuff here in the USA
Do you think that because it you costs you more…..the factory workers make more 😅. It’s called MARKUP which is sometimes up to 500%. Temu ships directly from China which eliminates the middle man and all associated costs such as warehousing, handling, transportation in addition to customary markup profits.
For the people that are commenting about sweatshops, nefarious companies, etc., A lot of items you purchase off Amazon, Walmart, Etc. come from the same places. Even items that say made in America have parts that are made in China and other places. Unless you buy local and really investigate what you’re buying, chances are, you’ll be dealing with foreign companies at some level.
Even if you buy an American car it has foreign parts .
yeah, thanks bill clinton.
Trump's clothing line was/ is from China
Still doesn't make it right. Go watch the The story of stuff.
Sad but true.
I have bought a couple of things from Temu, I must tell they deliver what they promise. Returns are easy ! You get it for free at the first time. Products are what you can expect them to be.
“It looks like a cape. I didn’t order a cape”. Haha! You guys are hilarious!
I’m glad you made this segment…it has saved me from placing an order with Temu.
Others have mentioned buying U.S. made instead - agreed. I am very concerned about the materials used in the making of the items. Mostly, be aware of the sweatshop conditions for the labor that made this low quality/fast fashion items.
Big mistake.
i agree Mexico,China is junk
the USA products we buy is made with China materials chips and everything else comes from China, it might have been put together here but not all made here you just pay higher because it says made in the USA
@@sandramccollum1882 Exactly & Is why so many American Companies have went out of business over the past 20+ years also!😪
Most of these items are probably made in China regardless of where you buy them.
I don’t think I’d want any of that. Glad y’all had fun for us!!

I'd rather spend a little more money on things of good quality that lasts. Too junk is made for cheap and never lasts for more than a year. What a waste of money and time and landfill.
@@martina5296 For sure! I think people are just addicted to shopping.
I received my first ever online order yesterday.
It was a Temu order, free shipping to South Africa and I am totally happy with everything in my R600 order. Mostly art stuff and a really cute leather cross body bag. Absolutely no odd smells when opened.
And China can now infiltrate your computer.
This company is CCP owned. That should speak for itself.
I'm glad you posted this. I was always sure it was a scam, but I definitely would never order anything from them anyway. It's probably all toxic materials they've used.
I purchased a few items from Temu. I won't be buying again, I learned my lesson.
Me too!
I have forbade myself to use this app. I did have a basket of almost forty bucks and so much free stuff...I resisted because it's all crap I really don't need.
Chinese spyware
Me three
I never order on-line because I prefer to support local business and locally made, but I saw a really great jumper for $30, which turned out to be a cheap, thin, polyester shirt with the pattern printed on it. I complained, they gave me a 30% credit (or $17 cost for postage to return it!) and I then gave it to an op shop. This was from E-Lili - posted in Australia but returns had to be posted to China. All cheap cr@p. Better to buy local, buy quality!
I’m thinking they have just rebranded WISH and are now calling it TEMU! It was fun watching y’all!
Exactly
They aren’t like wish at all. More like Amazon.
I stop using wish long time it's a rip off they charge you shipping for each item and sometimes the shipping is more than the item, then they take forever to get to you.what I don't like is somethings don't come with instructions.
Am a temu fan, can't afford to buy American on my salary at least most of what I buy as to be affordable most times I don't even look at where it's made. Food I sometimes rather it's made in America or my born land. But I can even give away stuff because its so affordable, not everything am happy with but most things are really good.
Exactly what I think. Wish is temu now and it's all Chinese cheapies. They don't have the regulations that America has. It actually scares me because of the lead and toxins.
I bought a fabulous purse on temu for less than half the price it was on Amazon and got a humidifier and a light installation as free gifts so I love temu.
And Temu loves all your personal info that it (China) can now get from your computer.
Yep. @@jeffweed3947

I have purchased some shirts. I have found them light weight and comfortable.
There are many different holiday ornaments and decorations decorations. Nothing has been late and despite package is not boxed, so far nothing has arrived broken.

The cost to the environment of these goods is frightening, in both the manufacturing processes, and later when all of it ends up in the garage, the thrift store, or more likely the landfill.
The cost to the workers is frightening! You think they could produce these items without slave labor.
They should apply heavy tarrifs on these slave layouts produced products to make them less desirable to consumers. I don't want things produced by slaves, I don't support this 'shop like a billionaire' b.s.

I admit that I LOVE Temu. I get a dog ball from them that goes on flash sales for well under $10, frequently under $5. On Amazon they run in the mid to high 20s. Kitchen stuff is super inexpensive. I've gotten dog leashes, and towel wraps, and all kinds of exercise gear that i otherwise would not own. Yep. im hooked.
I have been buying from Temu for two yrs. 90% was very good. The rest was nice enough to keep.

I am a papercrafter and have been ordering some stamp and die sets from Temu. More than half of what I have ordered have been defective. The good thing is that Temu has given me a prompt refund whenever I send them a photo of the defective item. However, it is frustrating to order something that is a disappointment, so I will probably not be ordering much from them anymore. I appreciate this video and am glad I did not order any electrical devices!
So you just keep reordering even though it's junk?
They are awful. Stampin' Up! is going after them and many other sites like this for copyright infringement. 😟
I buy dies for paper crafting. They are so much cheaper than others I have purchased at craft stores and on line. So far so good. Very happy with the scrapbooking papers and super cheap stickers as well. They to are well made . Also a banner for party decor. Plastic storage boxes and beads , jewelry making supplies.
I buy stamps and dies. I've never had an issue.
The stamps and dies are mostly stolen designs from legitimate U.S. small businesses. Please don’t buy from Temu.
I’ve been ordering from Temu for a year. Never a problem. Art supplies have been a budget saver, as long as you know what to look for. Other items have been great and much less cash.
I shop Temu and I do not have a problem with it. If there is absolutely anything you need, any kind of gadget whatever, you will find it there. I accidently ordered a couple of blouses. I thought they were cute and put them on an order I had going, just so I would be able to find them later. The order went through. I forgot to remove them and I didn't care much for them, but I was going to give them away. In the comments I left I said just that-that it was an accident and Temu reached out and said to keep them and they credited my account. The shipping is pretty darn quick for what they move in products. My only concern is that I hope they treat their employees well, because they move like quicksilver. I do not see where Temu could put anyone out of business. The products that they carry are some things that I could not even find anywhere else. There are so many new companies popping up in the States that I always support-if they have what I want but there is ALWAYS a big pricetag attached
Thanks for sharing the unpacking. Lots of red flags...especially the chemical odors.
Hi I am from Australia, I did buy quite a few things from Temu, their dog blankets being so soft and very durable. I then started getting charged $80 a month from some where in Ireland that could not be explained. I went to the bank to see what was happening and it turned out that it radiated from Temu via Ireland. I had to get a new credit card and tell all my direct debit people about my change. I won’t risk getting anything else from Temu.
Thank you for that Information...there had to be some ...serious catch to such 'cheapness'.
I've used Temu for months and I've never had no problems and the clothes and underwear for larger people are amazing
Do a return and the reason why. Take photo and they actually will let you keep and refund your money. I have been shopping atTemu for about 18 months and am very happy with everything . My husband loves his shoes , his outfits and jewelry. Also got him a remote control truck and his plays with all the time. LOVE TEMU!!!!

The first thing I thought of when I started seeing ads on YT for this company was that the “deals” were far too good and no doubt, there is more than meets the eye, beyond the obvious questionable (at best) labor practices, chemicals used in processing, and lack of oversight. Also, obviously concerning, is the fact that our country is significantly propping up another country’s economy when our own is really hurting.
With all that said, my main concern/question is “What is really going on with this company”? Perhaps an easy way to get millions upon millions of American’s personal info I.e. name, address, phone, Debit/Credit card info? Additionally, given the continuing and quickening degradation of the US and CCP relationship (or lack thereof at this point), it’s just hard for me to believe there isn’t more to this. Call me a Tin hat wearing CT, I just don’t have a good feeling about this company or their intentions at all.
Ditto!!!
I'm with you, Heather. Very fishy!
Buy LOCAL!

Almost everything I order from Amaxon and Walmart is made in China so I don't see Temu as any worse
@@vickieyoung7122 I agree with that. I do my best to view country information. Certainly can’t get completely away but can do my small part.
Very informative! Most of these items look like carnival prizes! 🤣
You guys should do a lab test on those items since you mentioned several times it has a strong chemical scent.
Junk really!
🤣
Bravo! Thanks for sharing and the best of luck!
I recently bought a thermal printer for 10 dollars with tons of sticker print paper and regular paper as well. These cost 40 and up for this type of printer that never needs to have ink cartridges. It works amazing and I love it! You have to search, read comments etc.
Good segment. You should do one with the "made in america " products tag, that are actually made in China. I worked for someone that was in advertising and they bought from China and just had workers putting made in america tags,so it's pretty deceptive out there.
This was honestly a lot of fun to watch lol😅 Have a great weekend everyone x
Very happy. I keep an order coming in several times a month. Love it.customer service is great...always on time. Offers deals under a dollar. Nice clothing and fits perfectly....no smell. I really have no problem. The dollar store has many of these that i get for 59¢> same stuff.
I love you both.Nate has such a good sense of humor. And your both so down to earth.
I'd be very concerned about heavy metals and chemicals in the products. It's a definite pass for me!
Me too!
Makes me sad that so much of this stuff and its packaging will go to the landfill.
The packaging from temu is very minium at best...If you want over packing for the same item get them from amazon..
Did you expect them to ship it inside a bubble of air
Hi Chichil Timu. I love it. If you don’t know how to shop it, you will make you lose money, but I do know how for example if you want silver earrings or rings 925, and it’s legit, silver, sterling, silver jewelry, and cheap, very very reasonably priced. I love it. I have a learning with heroes that I have purchased. I T-shirts I purchased with logos pertinent to my field perfect. Clothing, blouses of linen and cotton. Beautiful bed wear such as blankets for babies beautiful soft made of bamboo and cotton. Wonderful. So many things tools for sewing that I might use around the house for example: Thermometer, dog supply, such as feeders, those talking buttons that you record with the dog, whistles, harnesses lead, sweaters, beautifully printed beautifully woven. Just so many things it’s hard to keep track as I do buy a lot. I love them. Yes, they are returns are free just put it back in the box in the plastic with the barcode that comes with it take it to the post office and at the post office scan the QR code that Temu sent for you for your return and it’s done you don’t do it you don’t write on the box you don’t put postage on the box the post office to print the label scan code that team sent you. Couple of days, got your refund. I’ve also gotten things that I’ve purchased on other original websites that now have their things sold on and they’re like third of the price of the original creators website. And they are exactly what I have purchased already. So fun. Don’t be skeptical just be careful and look at the content of everything look at the size of everything. Make sure it’s the metal that you want silver or or Sterling silver or stainless steal, make sure it’s cotton or linen and not 100% polyester. It’s OK if it’s 35% polyester 65% cotton. Read the reviews also they will tell you about sizing and look at the photos of the items that people have sent after they’ve received what they purchased. Really can’t go wrong if you do your due diligence. So inexpensive. I love it. Kind of addictive too but I think I finally reached my limit of of addiction.
I deleted the App right after I downloaded it. I feel everything comes at a cost and I wonder what they are doing with our personal information.
I’m a teacher in UK and at school we were warned not to down load this Temu app as it is impossible to remove. Temu is so cheap because they take all your details and sell it on. You are the product. This is what I was told any way.
FOR THEM YOUR DATA IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!!
I just use afterpay & they don’t get my credit card info.
yes, not unlike many apps , and websites here such as ...google, facebook, etc. all of these are collecting your data, But the Facebook, stores ALL of EVERYTHING that one posts. All of your photos are used for facial recognition....all of your data....etc. Resist!!!
She’s a sweet positive person. She had already looked at her purchases and was prepared. She did a good job.
@ Lisa S. Yes, she was definitely prepared and dressed nicely!! Him, he looks like he slept in that wrinkled, tight small shirt!! What was he thinking?? Especially during a presentation on UA-cam!! He looks really disheveled!! Throw that dirty, wrinkled ( too small) shirt AWAY!!!!!!! Yuk!!
Shouldn’t we be buying American?
@@susanc.8009
Isn't this all the same stuff we would by paying 5 or 10 times as much for here?
You do know the stuff you buy here was made in China (or the Philippines, or wherever), don’t you?
I dare you to find hair clips (which is what I ordered) that are made in the USA. But I still need hair clips.
After you’ve gone a year without using anything not made in America, Id like to hear how that works out for you.
I love to shop that Temu! I am just making an order. And waiting for another. Can't wait to get my order.
I have bought numerous items of clothes, helpful items to.. The clothes are very good quality that I've gotten. I love the polyester clothes, so comfortable. An I love the styles I've gotten.
I would buy the t-shirt and wear it to work..competitor's products are frowned upon but I think they'd allow this one because it's broken ...I make New Balance shoes right here in the good ole USA! ;)
In Lawrence MA?
New Balance is made in America. If so, I'm looking for new sneakers and will but NB
You make the shoes? I would love to hear what that's like. Big sewing machines on a conveyor belt?
@@chasethecat3839 Did you read the comment before posting? And did you read your own comment before posting? Notice anything??
I placed an order and my items came in three different packages separately. They all were in great condition and very usable and nice quality.
Woww really 😮!!??? Lucky… did you have the chemical smell?
@@lerhondajones-bates3324 no, I ordered garden items like netting for the trellis and to put over the planter beds and a few other garden items. It wasn’t plastic items so I didn’t have that smell.
I first bought stuff from Temu 8 months ago. It all came. I've ordered since. No problems. The stuff isn't top quality, but what is nowadays ?
I have never bought anything that's more than 2 dollars. Always happy with my purchases. So. I get a big thrill out of shopping for an hour and paying maybe 30.00. And I get my money's worth.
I have used Temu for about a year and I have found that they stand behind their products…most cloths (you need to read the descriptions on the site). I can send you pictures, I love this service!
After debating with myself for weeks whether or not to try Temu, I decided to spend twenty dollars just to see what it was like. The reviews online are mixed. So I picked out a few random items and ordered. It took almost two weeks to get my package and I got the same orange plastic bag. My order was much like Nate's. Most of the items are on par with what you would find in the Dollar Tree, but the quilted dog coat I ordered for my son's beagle was actually pretty decent quality. So, I really think it depends on what you order. They have so many items online that you can actually spend hours just looking. Would I order again? Yes I think so. I ordered some quilting clips, small clips that hold material along the edge for hemming, etc. These are the exact same clips that I paid nineteen dollars for on Amazon for about three bucks on Temu. So, you just have to use your judgement.
Are you aware that most of the things you get from the dollar tree still come from sweat shops in China!?!
I haven't used it and probably won't but I also do crafts and spend a lot on supplies. I can't get the same at a cheap price so I agree with you...maybe not go overboard, responsible shopping, buy what you need type of thing.
Chinese textiles have been found to have toxic levels of lead and arsenic in them. Sure hope you haven't killed that poor dog by making him wear these dangerous materials from China. Google the story about the clothing from Shein and what it was found to have in it.
hi
@@s.c.7362 No, she hasn't worn it. I will get rid of it before I put her at risk. Thanks for the info.
I love temu. I've learned what to buy & what not to buy. Like rugs, not fireproof, returned no problem.
So many neat things.
Most of what I ordered from Temu (did two orders) arrived bent or broken because it was crammed into a flimsy orange bag that was wrapped around and around by packing tape. For example a large first aid type of box (plastic) you fill with your own medicines, bandages etc. Cover was bent, couldn't close it. I ended up returning almost every piece of clothing. What was listed as 100 percent cotton turned out to be 100 percent polyester. I was told to keep the broken stuff after sending photos. You have to return stuff from multiple orders together because you only get one free return, your "first" return. If you send back some shirts, for example, and then find out your charger is a dud that died a week after you got it, you have to pay to return the charger, and that could cost more than you paid for it. Also, you get a notice that returned merchandise will be inspected by their vendors who will decide how much of a refund you will get. I ended up getting 60 percent of my money back, which was about $50 short of the total I paid. Chinese companies count on you to not return stuff. I once bought a wig not knowing it was coming from China (through Kohl's online). It was like bad doll hair, looked nothing like the photo. They gave me a 15 percent refund or I could pay to ship it back to China at more than the cost of the wig. And yeah, a bunch of stuff I ordered from Temu smelled awful.
I love you guys! Nate Eaton, your video of following Lori Daybell around asking hard questions about her kids, was exemplary! Very good job! I also love the news reporting with timeline on the Daybell story. Very accurate and detailed listing of the facts of the case with timeline. Superb job and subscribed!
Temu - "I don't know what this is, but I paid like $0.25 for it, so who cares!"
"This one is broken, but who cares, its free!"
"This one has a bad smell, but its only $0.59 cents so I'm not complaining!"
The Chinese have found a way to ship all their factory seconds and recycled junk to us on Temu, grow their economy on our tax dollars, so they become the next superpower while we send all our manufacturing over to them as well. Stop buying this junk! Just because its free does not mean it needs to end up on our landfills. Leave it in Chinese landfills instead. Buy quality.
Cheep, cheep, cheep is for the birds.
Exactly! Supporting China..filling our landfills with more junk! Why???
Uhm?
Thank you MJRemy , well said. Unfortunately we live in a society that knows nothing of customer service and has a Walmart mentality. It saddens me. I like to shop where the associates know what merchandise is in the store and are trained professionals.
Well said!
Love your comment and agree with you!!!
The Chinese are laughing because they’re selling all their junk to Americans that just love to blow money and shop, because their items are cheap, but that’s because they’re low quality.
I tried Temu a couple times thinking OK maybe the next shipment will be better but no it’s junk it’s not worth the money I paid for it. They keep the better stuff for themselves and send us the crappy stuff!!
JUNK!!!!! Never again!!!
Great video! Thank you! I can't believe anyone would buy this junk. I take pride in buying made in USA. I also love buying vintage/antique quality made products which also help our environment by not ending up in landfills.
Be wary as to whether or not it is actually made in the USA. One commenter above noted that if they don't put a period behind each letter U.S. A. then it is not made in the USA. I have not corroborated that as yet however. I did find something advertising "Made in the USA" on the front of the packaging; but, when reading details on the back, as I recall, it was only packaged in the U.S.
That 7 dollar shirt can make you sick
@Ally Monte, Temu is American based online company out of Boston, MA. Not different than any other American company.
Yes, that is how I shop will not, would not order from that site
Yep. I try and buy USA whenever possible. And try not to buy anything from China. Why support them? I don't support Communism or slave labor. Or a lot of other stuff their Govt does over there.
I found it great, especially computer related products.
Flash drives, portable cd drives, etc. Sponges, cooking related products.
What a really fun video to watch! I enjoyed watching you open these immensely. Not sure why. haha
I live in So. FL and I have watched East Idaho News via UA-cam channel. The Secret Santa give-a-away is a must watch during the holidays. I wondered about the quality of items on TEMU. Posted reviews reflect the same experience as yours. For me I always look at the origin country. I try to buy MADE JIN USA. 1) Because of materials used. Most countries do not have the same material safety as USA, e.g. lead based paint. 2). I also look at child safety inspection e.g. choking safe guards.and 3) I would rather pay more for products than fund a country so hostile to the US. China, in all probability, is using forced labor and unfair wages. There is not one product on their site that would justify purchasing from our sworn enemy.Good luck getting a refund.
Made in PRC =. People's Republic of China
@terrilynn1110
Thank you for a clear-headed list of reasons. My anger towards a country that hates us and probably hates it's own people or at least the people who dare to stand up to the Chinese government; this anger made me less cohesive in expressing why not to buy 'made in China ' and to buy made in the USA.
There are so many many reasons....
I've been shopping TEMU since last September and I love it.
I have bought three purses on the same style, just different colors.First was $8.99 the last two were $11.99.
I absolutely love these purses.Well made,great material,lots of compartments.
Still holds everything I had in a large purse and it's crossbody.
I've bought other things I wasn't so happy about but, overall,I happy with most products.5
I was sceptical about buying through Temu too. But after meeting a lady who loved shopping on it I decided to give them a try. I have to say I love the cheap prices! They are now my go to shopping site. The only downside is that you have to wait for your items to arrive. They come in plastic bags wrapped with shipping tape. No boxes.
I love temu. I buy little girl dresses and outfits. Their hair extensions are great! Good clips. Basically beauty stuff and kids stuff are always good. Plus with free returns, there's no risk
Best to test clothing for your child. Chemicals are there and takes a while to harm people!😢
Temu is a Chinese wholesaler just like Light in the Box, Wish, ect. Those prices are still a profit to the seller which tells the mark up in stores. Fyi- most stores charge 300%+ mark up on clothing, 900% on jewelry
I tried temu twice. Months apart. The next day someone was trying to purchase 800 to 3000 plain tickets like 10 times each. South Korea, China, etc..... so don't know if anyone else had this experience. But I did!
I use Temu a lot and have heard of people being ripped off. I only use PayPal and have had no problem
Wow. Is this crap a way of them getting our information?
I buy a refillable visa or green dot that's what I use for online orders.
I use PayPal when ordering from temu myself

I'm very disabled and always shop online since I can't leave home. I've been shopping Temu for many months. Everything I order comes; it's here in just a few days; everything seems to be very good quality (sewing seams on clothing, etc), materials are different than what America uses but still feels great to wear; and I have spent hundreds of dollars and never felt I got cheated. I know it's all from China but look around your home and see how many things you bought here in America that has the "Made in China" label. It just cuts out the middle man! I believe the items come faster after a few orders so your info is put in the system. My orders started coming quite fast. This is just my input!
I have ordered twice and about to place my third order. I love this place ....... I have brought business items, boxes, earrings, no clothing but i have several kitchen items, order the measure cups and spoons, kitchen cooking cooking set. awesome
I could smell the plastic/chemicals through the screen😳
Remember the flip-flops that Walmart sold about 10 years ago that caused chemical burns on the feet???? Walmart is another company that does way too much business with China!! I hate Walmart!
You sure your battery wasn't on fire Also plastic and chemical Make up A lot of things in your house Also you can define Chemical
Yes and this I put out my experience with Temu. I had an asthma attack from the chemicals emanating from all items but especially the clothing. I did not return but I did give to people to destroy carefully via N. American standards!
The old saying... "Buyer beware, you get what you pay for". I have ordered from Temu. I was satisfied with most of my purchases. The odor they speak of in the video is TRUE! Some packages I have opened leave a "chalky film" and I immediately wash my hands and put them into the return bag.
We open ours outside.
Ha! Entertaining video. I chuckled all the way through. Thanks! All the instructions are in Chinese. Ha! Need to translate word by word. Haha.
I was wary too but after a friend told me he got some really good stuff from them I tried it. I too am quite impressed. I ordered a few things - no awful smell, and good quality which surprised me. You have to be picky but they do have good stuff at a fraction of the cost at Amazon etc... and I am big Amazon customer. Additionally, they include things like drawer liners, which I haven't seen elsewhere. PLUS they ship very quickly and if you receive your items late, you get a credit of around $5. Guaranteed, it's never late!
I ordered a crossbody purse and was not a disappointed. It's very sturdy, lots of room and compartments and it's well made... And I paid 12 bucks.
I’m loving there earrings
I order from Temu all the time, I’ve had one pair of sandals where the top of the sandal was too big but everything else has been great and with no smells.
I've ordered from TEMU many times without a problem. It's the same stuff they sell at Walmart & Amazon without the markup. I'd prefer to buy American but I can't afford the prices on little things like kitchen gadgets & hair accessories. A lot of things are not first quality but I can get 4 dresses for less than the cost of 1 on Amazon and they come from the same place. Sometimes they even use the same fabric.
I’ve gotten wonderful garden, kitchen, and wonderful simply made apparel items. They have inconsistent sizing, but pretty accurate sizing measurements for each item.
