I’m 17 years post surgery now. I was diagnosed when I was 11 and had my surgery 2 weeks before my 18th birthday. One of the worst things my consultant ever told my mum was that people with scoliosis don’t get pain 🤷‍♀️ and ever since my entire family think I make my pain up. The heat definitely helps. In the winter I seize up and can practically feel my titanium rods. Which people find very unbelievable. My back aches every day but like you’ve demonstrated in your video it varies day to day. But every day I would say it’s a one to begin with. And then yes certain triggers flame it up. For me it long standing, washing up, house works. I can kind of understand why people think I lie because it does seem to be those everyday type jobs that triggers it but it’s true and it’s real. I use to travel to London for work probably once or twice a month and I would be completely wiped out the next say. Completely seized up

Ahh I feel your pain... Literally!!! Don't get me started on the 'scoliosis doesn't cause pain' line 🤣 I've had that said to me aswell... So wrong! Thank you for watching X

In terms of your range of movement with you being fused T3-L3, how far can you twist and bend with the unfused parts of your spine?
I'm going to be fused T4-L4 and I'm worried about my gait and how easily I can twist and bend, and overall feeling like a robot. Can you swing your hips when you walk, sort of like a catwalk? Can you do side twists? Can you bend all the way down to your toes? Can you reach high up?

Hi, I can still bend but more from my waist. I can do side twists and swing my hips etc. I can do a video on this topic if it helps? Obviously it will take a while post surgery before you can bend/lift/twist etc, I think they say no bending/lifting/twisting for about 6 months or so but once your surgeon lifts restrictions you should be able to bend etc but it will feel different from before. You will feel stiff for a while but over time it kind of becomes normal in a way!

@@LifeWithScoliosis aw thank you, that's definitely reassuring to hear. Yes, a video would be amazing if you don't mind! I think others would benefit from knowing about how restricted they may/may not be, especially those of us with similar fusions like T3-L3 and T4-L4. It would be much appreciated! Also, I love your channel, it's really helping me prepare. I've been waiting 8 years since diagnosis! Xxx
