@@mich4270 oh fuck, few last chapters in the manga basically confirmed this. If not for Mika he won't ever smiled genuinely. Even this happiness while being with his squad are fake since the only one he's clinging into as his reason to live was Mika. :(

try watching that episode again. If you look closely at the rear of the car that mika was driving you will see an obvious dent. Yuu probably begged mika to let him drive and then crash the car again XD
