I remember in my early years in college I didn't understand how the other students would know things early on and I was reading the books and would be like how and where did you learn this stuff? Come to find out they were already studying in their youth. Now that the internet is available we can start looking at things ahead but even in that I get exactly where he is coming from...
But remember not everyone has internet access in their youth. And even those who do sometimes live in environments that are not conducive to study or are raised by parents who may not have a grasp on just how significant education is or they do but are too busy trying to supply the most basic survival needs for their children to spend time focused on intellectual cultivation.

I worked in Jennings, blocks down from Ferguson during the Unrest. There were definitely tanks. Not just in Ferguson proper, but in the surrounding neighborhoods, too. I worked in a shopping plaza and there were tanks in our parking lot and snipers on our roof. It was scary and wild. Him on the history of funeral wakes. Omg.
