As someone who was in the friendship circle of freya lewis’s sister who was caught in the attack, my heart, thoughts and prayers go on towards the friends and families of those affected. Its sickening to the core what happened and the thought process behind.
A split second decision like what time to leave can literally change everything. Martin is very brave to talk about such a traumatic event, in particular how it affected his Daughter Eve as well.
As a dad to a young daughter this absolutely broke me. As a proud pretty tough Glaswegian, I had to stop it when he mentioned about being the super hero dad and that he'd keep her safe. Any good dad wants to be their kids superhero and want no harm to come to them. It fucking destroyed me hearing those words from Martin. A great vid again (hugely upsetting but I has to hear his view on that awful atrocity. Great channel Ben,I wish you the best for it and thank you Mark for allowing us to know how you felt dealing with one of the worst things imaginable (especially as a parent).
Remember this day, one of the darkest for the UK by far. My brother was part of the British Transport Police at the time, and was at the train station when the concert started. He got home at 1am, and the first thing he did was turn the TV on at 1am to find out that happened. Also was some close family friends at that concert who did manage to get out of there safely thank god. Major respect to Martin for talking about this horrible experience, it takes a lot of courage to talk about stuff like this and RIP to the people who unfortunately lost their lives that day.
She was always safe with her dad…as far as he can CONTROL the situation. If she had gone with friends or something, they may not have had her at the forefront of their minds in the chaos and maybe the blanket would never have been removed. It was because of her dad that she made it out.

I'm from 8 miles away my friend narrowly avoided it I was year 4 I didn't know what happened but It scared me now I know why it scares you me more my friend was so lucky she didn't go in the end it was an absolutely awful thing to do I'm not going into the politics and that stuff.😢

I remember sitting in a Police Control Room (Not GMP or any involved force) being very new to the role I was in, watching this all unfold on the big screen TV in the room knowing that I'd met a few people that day who'd gone to the concert. I cannot imagine what Martin, his daughter or anyone at the Concert that night has gone through, both on the night and the subsequent years. I truly wish all affected the best recoveries possible and truly sorry for the losses families and friends have suffered in such a barbaric attack!
Remember that day. My family were having a nice bbq in the garden. It was a beautiful day. And we went to sleep. My dad is a doctor at the childrens hospital and when I woke up the next day, he was still at the hospital operating on the poor kids. Such a traumatic time. RIP 22

Kudos to Martin. I've had a few tests of character over time, but nothing compared to the things he went through. I can only hope that if I face a similar situation, I act similar to how Martin did.
it made me tear up hearing martin blame himself. if he ever sees this or if anyone who has tragically been in a similar situation sees this- you did not fail you child. you did not fail whoever got hurt or whoever lost their life. you did absolutely nothing wrong in this situation. you did what was the right thing to be doing at that time with what you knew of what was going on around you. you had no way of knowing what you should have, would have, could have done. i understand the guilt completely. i was sexually assaulted by a friend when i was 13. i didn’t speak about it until i was about 15/16 because i didn’t even realise what had happened to me was wrong. i thought that’s just what boys did when they like you since i hadn’t been taught about assault or abuse at all. he went on to assault another one of my friends, rape another and i’ve heard from other people he has continued being a horrible person. i blame myself for not speaking out sooner, for not protecting my friends, but at the end of the day i didn’t know. hearing martin talk about his guilt and realising that he shouldn’t feel guilty and neither should i (because we had no way of knowing how our lives would change in that split second) has really helped me so thank you for sharing this ❤️

watching this just shakes me, im an emergency nurse in a unit about 20 miles away, that night I had fell asleep and was woke up by my brother telling me what had happened, I know the major incident procedures, I taught the unit so knew that there was a possibility i would get called in, maybe not to deal with the incident, but because the manchester hospitals where all in majax use there still has to be help for others not involved so i got my scrubs and kit ready and put the tv on and facebook because I know many of the 999 responders who where probably going to be there, and as Ben has said in another video theres a little panic and concern for your mates. we where stood up and took other patients that night, but I wasnt called in, however that incident made me set up my group called BEAT which teaches bystanders to give emergency care with whatever is at hand, so among all the other evil theres many positives from this, personally theres about 2 thousand people we have helped to train and equip so should it happen again hopefully more will survive. my very best wishes to you all, and again brilliant series of videos.

Wouldnt of made a difference, the issue was the security guards who spotted the man didnt report him out of fears of being racist. If they had reported, the police would of been there.
This made my heart break disgusting people in this world full of evil in them damaging families for their whole life, they should make everyone undress in security before every football match or event or concert to stop these horrible attacks
