Between Macadelic and Faces, he had SO many side projects cataloged. This album was amazing! The character he created to release the inner f’d up thoughts we all have hits every vibe of a serial killer horror film. Wow ur the goat for this . This album was on repeat 🔁 for me during a time I was so far gone, commiting crimes, on the run, and doing so many drugs - all taking place in the dark city of Detroit. But just like Macs later music I've grown and found my peace and couldn't be happier with my life currently
Downloaded "Delusional Thomas" and put it in my phone since it's not on spotify for some reason. Til this day one of the best album/tape i've ever heard. RIP Mac, gone but never forgotten. Also your videos are dope dude, keep up the good work.
Bill is one of my favorite Mac songs of all time. Every verse is my favorite part, each rapper killed it. DT came with those darker introspective lyrics and Earl came with the same energy but just in Earls lyrical way. And let’s not even talk about Bill himself. The story is out there but if you didn’t know, they were all together and Mac and Earl were rapping their verses, which originally was “stupid shit” which is what they said in an interview, then Bill started rapping his verse and it inspired both Earl and Mac to rewrite their verses, which gives us an entirely different and more structured song. Kinda sucks you didn’t give him the mention in the video because that whole verse is absolutely insane. “Look, fuck these writtens, I don't watch 106 and Park I skate through the park in my 106's” Good video overall and I’m just grateful you are giving what could be considered a hidden classic, or at least hidden to the current mainstream audience, out of Macs discography.
Every album has been my favorite at some point in my life since I’m 25 now & started listening to him when I was 13. Faces is still my overall favorite though. The creativity & expression put into that album is incredible to me. I loved the Colors & Shapes animation put out recently.
Bill is a fantastic fucking song that captures self hatred and depression like lightning in a bottle. It's fucking genius level. Seriously don't think we'll ever see as talented an artist again ever. I'd love to see DT on a mainstream plat but since it's so dark I think alot of ppl wouldn't truly "get it"-it kinda takes a specialness to delve into the lyrics and really appreciate the skill that made this.
Its funny mac realized he didn't have to make music for everyone and by doing that he kind of did he was the most relatable artist ever and anyone would tell you it was like losing someone you personally knew. RIP Mac
This album will probably never see a formal release which really saddens me. It's easily one of the best horrorcore records I've ever heard, especially in hiphop. It's also a shame because I know for a fact the masses would be like "what the fuck is this shit???"...they just wouldn't get it. I'm not shitting on the more mainstream fans or anything, I'm just saying that this would be way too left field and weird for most of them I think. It should be released under the name Delusional Thomas and have it's own artist page on streaming services separate from Mac Miller. Thanks for making this video man, it was great!
delusional thomas is my favorite project of malcolm’s i am always searching for more from this alter ego such as creature’s of the night or transformations, this tape helped me trough my darkest time in life
Same dude! The only other ones I have as ever able to find were Ride Slow where DT is a feature, and Unhappy from Mac and another DT feature. I want more from this alter ego so much.
I personally think as was spoken in the video, it's a way to express himself and his darker side the deepest darkest parts of his mind, the part we're all scared to show. This small 27 minute album really covers everything he was feeling, everything that went through his mind, his dark intentions, evil thoughts, because we all have them and Mac touching on that topic helps you understand him a bit better and can also in a way help you understand faces and Watching movies with the sound off.
Delusional Thomas was just something else. the tape itself is a must listen and just incredibly insightful and interesting. this whole idea of the dark thoughts in ones mind i feel is a topic Mac never shied away from. many people r uncomfortable with the thought but he tackled it head on especially on this project. i doubt it’ll be released to streaming services tho i don’t think the general listener is honestly interested in the tape although i believe it’s one of the most important projects in mac’s career being that it kind of influenced faces like you mentioned. anyway idk if what anything i said here makes sense lmao but i love Mac and what he did for music and just as a person, rlly an incredible character who walked the earth. Rest In Peace Mac love you infinitely.
I loved the album even if I didn't love the lyrics. I would love to see more artists do this, I never thought of our complexity in that way when it comes to producing art. It would be so cool if more artists could fully focus on one characteristic of their personality and humanity, express it to their best ability, then jump to the next. Keep makin these videos mahn 😁😁😁
I wish ALL of his music was out on streaming platforms like Spotify!!! Life isn't how it used to be when we could download everything off of Limewire/Frostwire and all those websites!! I miss those days. Do people still download torrents? Man, I'm old... but I remember how free the internet used to be when we didn't use apps.
Got so much memories listening to this project w my homie who introduced me to Mac. Hearing Mac describe Thomas as a guy who only thinks he’s crazy only adds on to the already funny ass bars spread throughout the project. DT goes to show just what he could do when he wasn’t limited by what other people would deem unacceptable to have in a song. rip legend, most dope 4L.
this the stroke of a genius, go smoke then float with a pheonix, I'm walking round humbly, looking pretty troubling, its all good they don't notice that i'm jesus- mac miller he's like another version of myself who passed by just to be reminding me its all good
People dont understand the DT mixtape came out after watching movies. Crazy how he switched the order like that. We had no idea who it was when we heard the star room.
Exactly I thought I was trippin cause every video says it came out before ..but Mac did have (ft. Delusional thomas) on the star room so I think he already knew...wish mac was alive to do more in depth interviews on these subjects smh.
I was born 2 years after mac. I felt that as he evolved so did I. High school life during kids and blue slide park was all about smoking, partying, shoes, hats, and finding ladies. Macadellic came out my senior year when I started experimenting more. I got to see him twice live that year. Fast forward to watching movies and I was experimenting more. It was a whole new mac and a whole new me. I've always had a dark side and have been in hospitals a couple times for suicidal ideation. The fact that someone who went from happy upbeat songs to showing a darker side makes me feel more whole, even if I am on a border most the time. I 100% hope this is never on a streaming site. This is one of those gold masterpieces that should be recommended by someone you know. Something that makes you go, "woah what the fuck." The best part is that even in faces when he "shoulda died already" you're still seeing a different side. That was his genius. He didn't just make a rap album after album, he gave us visualized evolution of his life and career. There is a mac miller song for almost every occasion; this mixtape is proof. RIP Mac Miller 92 to infinity
I dont think that it will make it to major streaming platforms, with that being said I am happy about that. Delusional Thomas is apart of the mac miller lure and over all story of who the artist was. To pepper in a mixtape where he indulges in talking about his inner demons could display an incorrect embodiment of who mac was.; not to say that the people dont deserve it or that it is too dark for people to enjoy.I feel publicly adding this to his discography will confuse a lot of his post mortem fans, in the same way rereleasing faces did. All in all if you are meant to know about DT then the mixtape will come to you. I can sit here and write an essay but I will leave it at that. LOVE the idea of 3d printed faces hand! very well put together my dude
This is one of the things I don't get about social determinants of health. I don't see why a radiologist and a doctor work at separate offices but when people are calling for help and your telling them its normal. What's normal? What is care? What does it mean to afford? What does it mean to act? What does it mean not to act? That's what's good about art and branding, it is entirely 100% necessary to be able to deliver a product to the consumer. 🦋
Too many imaging studies still result in inconclusive reports due to poor visualization or nonvisualization of anatomical structures, which can delay diagnosis and treatment, add stress for patients and staff and increase costs. The usual suspects for compromised image quality are well known: acquisition parameter errors, motion, fat and metal artifacts, operator error, and technology limitations.
im not going to lie, ive never been the biggest mac miller fan, only really liking songs like, SDS, Diablo, Party on 5th ave, senior skip day, self care and a few other. but with watching these videos it makes me appreciate the music i missed out on with mac, what a talented individual. its saddening knowing hes gone, never getting to experience the music as he grew from a xxl freshman in 2011, to a staple in modern rap.
I’m not gonna lie whenever this first came out I wasn’t feeling it at all, and forgot about it. Very early last year I came across it again on datpiff, and I thought I’d try it out again… and let me tell you as soon as Larry started with that dirty ass grimy beat I fell in love with it. The next 3 songs was just amazing to me. I also love how Larry leads straight into Halo. The first 3 tracks of this tape had my jaw on the floor, and I fucking LOVE the high pitch voice. I love everything about this tape, and it’s just great to listen to because I relate having those dark thoughts. I’m sure we all can relate to it. This gave me inspiration in my music to venture off and do different things like creating a dark horrorcore like alias. I owe a lot to it. We love and miss you Mac
It's truly interesting watching Mac's true self come out throughout his career. Compare K.I.D.S. and Blue Slide Park with WMWTSO, Delusional Thomas, and Faces, and there's a HUGE difference. You can see the internal struggles coming to life.
Was addicted to K2 around the time of this drop. Really helped me kick the stuff. Had this in my earbuds constantly doing community service workin for the church n shi.
i think this tape is best left off streaming services. it wouldn’t be well received by the mainstream and is a better off as a gem to find once you really start to get into mac.
Its truly something else extraordinary. Its dark but powerful music. I wish there was more of this style of his music or similar styles but i have yet to find some. RIP A legend 💯 🔥
Feel it's important to state this as some people do not grow up in a religious environment and the phrase "Doubting Thomas" is generally something you will hear in a church in the modern era yet even then it's sort of antiquated. You rarely hear people say doubting Thomas anymore and if you never went to church or never heard of it then the full title might not make complete sense. If Thomas was Delusional....what was Mac? It's a funny thing to think about. The idea of Thomas instead of being doubtful, is overflowing with confidence to the point of delusion is pretty creative in itself. I feel like Mac probably just thought that name up one afternoon and probably got a kick out of exploring this concept fully with his own feelings on the tape. Truly inventive & creative artist who helped evolve hip hop with his style from music videos to the soul funk direction his latter tapes evolved into. Swimming & Circles really feel like a stopping point and what could have been another starting point if Mac was still here. Miss this man like he was an actual friend of mine which is an odd feeling because I never saw him in my life but feel my eyes about to get teary if I wasn't furrowing my brow about it rn. Damn...all I'm trying to say is Mac had talent and he was creative as heck and lovable as a human being.
Along with being Mac first presentation to his fans of his brutally honest self, I feel like Delusional Thomas is a prequel to Faces. While I think it would be cool to have it in DSP, I think it would be cooler to have it as one of those elusive mysterious projects that only real fans would know about who are willing to dive deep and search for
I love the charger max portrays in the mixtape it’s the back and fourth… and the deeper story the man has than just music... Telling how he really felt… probably will need be on any streaming services unfortunately :( doesn’t seem like the thing his family would do now…
I have a tattoo of delusional Thomas from the album cover done in one of my favorite artists style on my left pec. No one understands this tattoo, and that’s why it’s my favorite one
Delusional Thomas was pump up music for Mac. Honest, vicious yet delicious. To show the darker side of his mind without judgement. Ironically, the same honesty and transparency which drove allot of us to Mac in the first place. He was always reserved when it came to showing his emotions yet never failed to per-tray exactly what he was thinking. I’m thankful delusional Thomas gave Mac the confidence to do so and become the artist he became.
Itll never come out on streaming services. Its too personal for anyone to even understand. We all have that voice which is know a character we all know and love. Delusional thomas is alot of people tbh and the moment that it was a character to mac it was all over. He adopted the man and couldnt do somethings w out him. I love him whatdoyoukillfaceoutside
I throw DT on when I need something heavy to remind me that my brain is my own. The character is definitely a parallel to that voice we all have inside our heads; however, I think that Thomas dives a bit deeper owing to Mac's demons. To that end, I find Thomas's influences over Faces to be much more relatable than his outright voice on the self-titled tape, which I would assume is why Faces is so many people's favorite project: it captures, but doesn't give in to, the worst of those demons. I really hope DT comes to streaming services, because I'm sick of using the clunky Datpiff app when I want to listen to it. But I can't say I believe it will. There's something about it that almost feels like it would tarnish the legacy that Mac's family and team are trying to make for him, especially the further away we get from his death. I think of how they signed off the note in the S0meTh1ngs folder: "The continuers of Malcolm's music". Perhaps it's an overanalysis of that signature, but somehow I get the feeling that the perception is something along the lines of DT not really being *his* music, per se. While I don't think that perception would be correct (if, in fact, that is their perception), it is true that Mac developed a lot and learned from his mistakes over the course of his artistic journey. Circles solidifies that idea for me, particularly in That's On Me and these melancholy lines from Once A Day: "Don't ask me what I think/It never really mattered what I had to say". The feeling I got from Circles was a distinct letting go of the past on Mac's part. While I don't think we'll ever get past the loss of his person and artistic voice, I think it's important to understand and come alongside his closest people in their quest to build a future for his voice by selecting what they think is necessary from the past. That, in short, is why I don't think we'll see DT go mainstream.
always been interested in macs special ways of dropping ive heard about them but never seen anything, id really like to see it documented in one place for his history

Just found “A toast to you” by Mac I love finding all these different persona’s
This is my new favorite channel ❤
I loved the album even if I didn't love the lyrics. I would love to see more artists do this, I never thought of our complexity in that way when it comes to producing art. It would be so cool if more artists could fully focus on one characteristic of their personality and humanity, express it to their best ability, then jump to the next. Keep makin these videos mahn 😁😁😁
Can defo get with your theory, love Delusional Thomas - didn't know about his comments on it though, so thank you!
Ayoooo the limewire days 😂😂 I remember loading my iPod nano with so much music
Love this keep doing them I need every album I need these they’re amazing!!
Dope video !! Very underrated project. People Damn near almost forgot about it. Do one on his Larry lovestein alter ego as well!
Got so much memories listening to this project w my homie who introduced me to Mac. Hearing Mac describe Thomas as a guy who only thinks he’s crazy only adds on to the already funny ass bars spread throughout the project. DT goes to show just what he could do when he wasn’t limited by what other people would deem unacceptable to have in a song. rip legend, most dope 4L.
this the stroke of a genius, go smoke then float with a pheonix, I'm walking round humbly, looking pretty troubling, its all good they don't notice that i'm jesus- mac miller
he's like another version of myself who passed by just to be reminding me its all good
still one of my fav tapes i always listen to it still to this day
People dont understand the DT mixtape came out after watching movies. Crazy how he switched the order like that. We had no idea who it was when we heard the star room.
Exactly I thought I was trippin cause every video says it came out before
..but Mac did have (ft.
RIP Mac Miller
92 to infinity
really nice video, love the visuals, keep it up!
Amazing video!
BRO THIS IS SO GOOD
im not going to lie, ive never been the biggest mac miller fan, only really liking songs like, SDS, Diablo, Party on 5th ave, senior skip day, self care and a few other. but with watching these videos it makes me appreciate the music i missed out on with mac, what a talented individual. its saddening knowing hes gone, never getting to experience the music as he grew from a xxl freshman in 2011, to a staple in modern rap.
Fantastic video brother!!
Delusional Thomas is what solidified mac as one of my favorites
It's truly interesting watching Mac's true self come out throughout his career. Compare K.I.D.S. and Blue Slide Park with WMWTSO, Delusional Thomas, and Faces, and there's a HUGE difference. You can see the internal struggles coming to life.
Was addicted to K2 around the time of this drop. Really helped me kick the stuff. Had this in my earbuds constantly doing community service workin for the church n shi.
i think this tape is best left off streaming services. it wouldn’t be well received by the mainstream and is a better off as a gem to find once you really start to get into mac.
Thats a good take on it, well said
Agree💯
Circles would have defined a generation. A world without Mac is a world I don’t wanna live in.
Delusional Thomas saved my life, Using substances i never felt so alone anymore
I've always loved this Tape... Grandpa used to carry a flask 🔥👌🏽
One of my favorite mixtapes.
Its truly something else extraordinary. Its dark but powerful music. I wish there was more of this style of his music or similar styles but i have yet to find some. RIP A legend 💯 🔥
Darker than Faces? Oh man, I'm gonna have to listen. I've been alternating between Faces, Swimming, and Circles lately.
Dude just wanted to make a horrorcore tape
I love that Thomas never blew up. Kinda love that
DThomas album dope AF! Fly High!! Long live one of the most underrated in the game!
I’m obsessed with Delusional Thomas. R.I.P mac
Thorough analysis, thanks for this.
Along with being Mac first presentation to his fans of his brutally honest self, I feel like Delusional Thomas is a prequel to Faces. While I think it would be cool to have it in DSP, I think it would be cooler to have it as one of those elusive mysterious projects that only real fans would know about who are willing to dive deep and search for
Lost my job now im in new york selling sandals
3:43 I don't get why nobody talks about Bills feature. He goes after Mac and Earl and is the reason the song is called Bill.
Great video
Love the video. R.I.P. legend.
DT was the first tape I ever listened to.
Blows my mind people are just now finding out about this. Listen to the song 72. It’s cold asf lol
Is it a hot take to say this is a top 5 Mac project? Because I believe so
I throw DT on when I need something heavy to remind me that my brain is my own.
If y’all really want to delve into this listen to the song Erica’s house by Mac perfectly captures this
always been interested in macs special ways of dropping ive heard about them but never seen anything, id really like to see it documented in one place for his history
I'm hoping that hand is still available in a week and a half, I literally have it tattooed on my arm and would love to buy one when I get paid
They’re nearly gone so they’ll be sold out by then! Send me an email and I can put one aside for you - contact.converseme@gmail.com
It's funny that many people don't know Delusional Thomas
more mac please!!!!!!
i Rember When The EP Dropped After HIs Tv Show Premiere Ended
Loved Bill Waves verse on Delusional Thomas - Bill. Follow him! He's got good music.
Gone too soon…the world needed mac, and mac needed the world.
I think it was purely him and something he always wanted to do and try. He was just brave enough to do it.
A way for him to vent
