    I need to say "Thank You" as you did something huge this week. You gave me strength to go see my brother, with whom I've never been close, as he lie dying of cancer in his hospital bed. It was sad because he was alone in the room. He knew it was me but was also hallucinating. Then last night a voice told me to see him again. To my content, his 3 grown kids were there at his side. I'd not seen them in over 20 years. I told them he'd be gone soon.
    He passed away at 3:30 a.m. this morning. You see, my brother was always like your horse. Always running away and needing assurance that he was safe. He lived a life full of insecurity and seclusion and alcoholism, but in the end, he found peace.
    I thank you for that which you do each week, the role you play in all of our lives of giving hope, inspiration, and joy. This is probably the one role you hadn't been so aware of going into your UA-cam experience.
    I appreciate you!

    Good morning from just a bit north and a little west of you. We trained our horses to come for treats by shaking a bucket with whole oats in it. Even if they were getting corn cobs, apples or whatever, the bucket shaking is their que. When we were working with them in the mountains even, if they got away I could throw some stones in my hat, shake them and they'd come right in....Hope that helps!

    • @SagebrushRambles
      @SagebrushRambles Рік тому +3

      @@unnidi3877 that's not how horses and cattle react to cold. They heat up from the inside out. Their body heat is literally generated by the feed they consume. Putting them inside also doesn't help them grow their Winter coat. Escaping the pasture has zero to do with a horse feeling cold. They have the loafing shed if they want to get out of the weather. Do you know anything about horses at all? It doesn't seem like you do from your comment.

    After just being diagnosed with terminal cancer, seeing what you are doing for the children brings me to tears. I think of all those children going through this fight...at such a young age. They have not had a full life yet, like I have. I've had the opportunity to lead an incredible life and have an incredible family and so much support and prayers. Now I wish I had the courage earlier in my life to support families like you are doing...now I know how hard it really is. I have not even started chemo yet (to possibly give me more time here) and its already been tough. Kids are resilient, I know, but still...the family needs support too! All I can think of is my family I am leaving behind and how hard it must be for them to go through this...
    Thank you for thinking of the little ones and their families.

      ha ha Houdini great and perfect name... wait that isn't really the horses name is it?? I have these little tracking devices that work incredibly well... they don't look like much but that will map you via satellite exactly where something you have lost, or misplaced... or like my dog Kenai he takes off my tile which is attached to his collar tells me on google maps exactly were that dog is... hopefully he will find me before I find him. I finally had to put a six foot fence around my entire house...like a prison wall...lol... or he'd jump right over and off he'd go. The tile thing may sound "funky" but it works.... it shows me if he's on the move .. or shows me even if he's in someones yard... he doesn't like or is keen to strangers so I doubt anyone could catch him. But as long as the tile is affixed firmly I can find him. His is on his collar... also along with his tag and he's chipped. I'd hate to repeat what it says on his collar. But I will.. It says Hi my name is kenai, although my mom calls me A**hole, she lives on lot 300 so point me in that direction and tell me to go home. I may or may not listen. Thankfully people are not offended by the somewhat humorous name tag, includes my phone number because 9 chances out of 10 telling me to go home I will head in the oppposite direction and continue to wander, thus earning the nickname I have.

Where the kids were sliding, it can be improved by bringing in more snow, smoothing it out, and spraying it with water before you go in at night. The next day it will be an ice slide and much faster. Another nice video. Good Luck, Rick

    😆 I'm surprised Jeremy allowed that backer board to go in upside-down! Is his perfectionism subsiding? Even though it won't show, we've seen I the past that those things used to bother him. 😉

    Melissa, 14:28 your ring, had not seen it since you lived in Washington. I had hoped you didn't sacrifice it for building materials. I still recall 62 years ago the work & saving to get a ring for Mary & how delighted I was seeing it on her hand.

    Y’all are living the dream. I have a hard time watching the videos because of how envious I am of y’all’s life. I’ve wanted to do that for years but I’m stuck living a life I don’t want to live. Makes me full of resentment and depression. I’m happy for y’all. It’s got to be a great feeling to live how you want.

    Keeping the hair high and tight for my first 14 years of LEO cost a small fortune. $20 every couple of weeks at Supercuts… $60 at Costco for a professional Wahl and I haven’t paid for a haircut in $15 years! You save a fortune for you and the boys! My neighbors on their 20 acres (fellow retired LEO’s I worked with in N. CA) finished their home last year. They just put in their hot tub last month, OMG I’m soooo jealous. Yer gonna LOVE IT!!

    Children...prayed for, held and supported... Doesn't get better than this for Christmas and it even beats the hot tub! Here in Scotland I have emptied the tub because energy prices are through the roof and so we ration our hottub to holiday times: Christmas and New Year (3 months) and Easter (another 3 months). Still love following the channel and love to see the progress as each project is chalked off. Blessings.

LOL I am excited to see the video on delevering all the packages and money to the hospital. Such a great thing to do.
