How everyone wins a street fight:
-Karate: Spinning/turning hook kick to the liver or solar plexus.
    -Boxing: Sucker punch. Spam uppercuts.
-Taekwondo: Sweet Chin music all day, gimme a sliding side kick into a lead hook kick and a spinning hook to ribs on exit just in case.
-Wing Chun: Chi Sao, Pak Sao, Bong Sao, repeat.
-Jui Jujitsu: Lay down and flip them off.

Depends Shannon Briggs ko a kickboxer and he a boxer. Depends who’s the fighter. Punch could put you straight to sleep with a single shot. Boxers also have ability to fight off angles because they don’t throw kicks. Kickboxer also have good kicks. I think martial arts is just a great thing to experience.

@@Darkseidsolosfiction thats exactly my situation a boxer who fights kickboxing, part of troubles of being short.
But if you are fighting someone who excels at creating space and attacking whilst doing so then they will rack up hits, which is where the low kicks shine.
Damaged legs means they struggle to use them, meaning they will struggle to fight.

I've trained both. It really does feel like karate is more practical, more range, more mobility than just footwork, and not only the knowledge of how to target the legs, but also how to guard against having your legs targeted.
Still tho, at least in my dojo, sparring was always meant to train primarily speed and reflexes, more than anything else. Strength a little less so, but dealing with and ignoring pain, not once. I get the feeling, if I had only done that, I'd probably be really bad at dealing with a opponent who was seriously trying to hurt me.

Honest belief karate has more variations of blocks and knows how to punch as well as kicking Though kicking isnt too necessary in a street fight coz u wanna end the fight quick u can still use the leg kick for a quick distraction and then a quick knockout

Child's conversation: two sports players talking about streetfights. It's endless and nonsense. Everybody got a theory until my friend clobbers you from behind with a chair.

To be fair, what i have noticed in a lot of combat sports gyms such as boxing, kickboxing, muay thai, ect. is that a lot of times they don't even pay attention at what you are doing unless you are an amateur competitor or sth, i remember when i trained boxing there where entire classes where i just hit the bag by myself and then someone told me to go spar, a lot of times they didn't even correct me, and a lot of people that i talked to told me the same, there's no sensei that is always watching you and correcting you all the time so you can improve, i'm not saying that a martial arts dojo is always good, of course there are also mcdojos but i noticed those attitudes at combat sports gyms even if they are 100% legit, that's why nowdays i prefer to trsin martial arts like karate, in a good dojo of course.

So true takes to much work to land a right proper karate kick where as boxing is shoulders hips and precise arm movement

The strategy with boxing is to hit so hard the other guy is knocked out before they realize you only have punches

Nat-I talk to myself and/or with myself about martial art stereotypes!(still probably gets more consistent payment then most pro fighters)

At karate we are taught that the point of training for the self defence aspect isn’t to beat your opponent, but to create an opening for you to flee/ physically convince them it’s best to not give chase if you do. If you want to play hero, you should join the police force or the army, not a list of casualties to street crime.
