Thank you Paul, very nice video e great photos. I also find your editing fantastic and it would be great to see a video from you on this topic. Cheers!
Making the effort to get out with a camera can take some doing at times but I am always glad I bothered afterwards.Another good video Paul.Thank you for quality content.
Thanks for this this positive presentation. I am not sure that I have ever developed any creative photographic mojo, in the first place, but, I reckon that there is hope. I developed technical photographic skill, largely macro, for an occupational reason, but am now retired, and trying to be creative, in my small city. Thanks for the lesson!
In the last couple of years I’ve had multiple obstacles, personal and health issues, so I struggled a lot in finding a way not to give in with street photography. I sometimes forced myself to go out shooting even if I only wanted to stay home and I really didn’t know exactly what to do, zero ispiration. When I have this feeling I simply shoot people from the hip with a 35. Candid casual shooting. Sometimes you end up with some keepers even if you are not in the mood. Never give up!
Hello, Paul. I watch your videos regularly and love them all. I’m from São Paulo, Brazil and I’ve been to England once. Your hometown looks idyllic to me. There’s a gorgeous church there that caught my eye. I’m hoping to go back to 🇬🇧 someday and take loads of shots. You should come to São Paulo, there are plenty of things to photograph down here.
Excellent.. , over the last few years had occasion ro visit Carlisle a few times and I loved walking aroundthye city... lots and lots of photo opportunites. Especially like the area around the Cathedral and Railway Station.... Cheers good luck with the channel 🙂
In the States I live in an city where cars rule. Foot traffic is minimal. Unless one is in the parking lot of Walmart. I travel to a town next to where I live for street walking opportunities. It tends to be hit or miss. If I see 3 people on the street in the town - that's a crowd. Sometimes there are gems.
I love your work Paul and the videos are sublime, thank you. I would appreciate seeing even more of how you shoot portraits in various light. Your portraits are very strong indeed.
Thanks Paul for a truly inspirational video. I’ve recently hit a rut in my photography for reasons I don’t understand. I’ve no excuse really because I live just outside Birmingham city centre where there’s always lots of activity. I think that, as you suggested, it seems to become a bit familiar and boring. So, starting tomorrow, I’m going to start looking more closely at those locations I know so we’ll, and may start doing some portraits again, which I’ve done before and enjoyed. Thanks again, for giving me a much needed kick up the backside!
Speaking as a Carlisle boy who has lived away for most of his life now, I think it's important to try and view your hometown like a tourist would. There's some unique places in and near Carlisle where you can capture pictures you couldn't elsewhere. I now live in Blackpool, which is amazing place for street photography - as long as you're careful not to get used to it and start to see it as boring. I heard a New York street tog recently say images taken there are boring. Imagine that!
Very inspirational video Paul. I love your channel and I’m so tempted to look for a dedicated monochrome camera. I shoot jpegs on monochrome but to have a camera with a monochrome sensor would be a dream!
A very impressive british narrative;-)) Did you ever take any photo of the beautiful steam locos heading near Carlisle over the bank? I like them! @philosimot
Thank you, Paul. As I approach 80 years, it's sometimes hard to find my Mojo! I appreciate this inspirational video; love your work.
Great bit of encouragement, we’ll received … ta very much! I’ll be heading out with my trusty Fuji X100V … shooting monochrome natch! 📷🙂
Well said and executed Paul. It's a numbers game the more you go out and shoot the more chance of a keeper or two.
I totally agree
Brilliant. Thanks so much for this reminder to get out and simply look around where you are. Love those Q2 crisp images.
Glad you enjoyed it!! I appreciate you watching
You convinced me to buy Q2 Monochrome. Learning the camera now and will take it out and about very soon.

I didn’t I’m afraid. Lots of people do though. Thanks for watching the video
Are those close up portraits usually shot wide open? Or do you stop down a bit?
Usually about 2.0
I always take my q2 reporter with me, you never know what may cross your path.
Im seeking for a Q2 Monochrom
It’s a wonderful camera
