You know, I have an idea to end it all for the "retiring of jim carrey", So correct me if I'm wrong as well, Dr Gerald Robotnik is Eggman's grandfather, Which is in the same time is [Jim carrey] because he is acting as robotnik, If they make a third movie featuring shadow the hedgehog, They can film a couple of small scenes for jim carrey being the old gerald robotnik who created shadow and has Maria as well, And then when Gerald dies and make his evil scheming video about project shadow, The movie can continue with a new Eggman and they can take someone like Jack Black to be the fat evil Eggman that we all know, In conclusion of what I'm trying to say.
We can pretend like Jim Carrey was acting as Gerald Robotnik - and when jim retires, The fat Eggman [New actor] can continue his legacy, (BTW I'm a really big fan of Jim and I don't think anyone can match his level of acting when it gets to the Robotnik role)
