How to use a froe

A froe is a valuable part of any traditional woodworking toolkit. Used to rive and split wood in precise fashion, its not just for splitting firewood (though it does work for that)

Thank you for demonstrating a froe and articulating its use. I think from what I've learned so far in preparation for riving my own wood is that with the narrow log it would be time to take it over to what they call a riving brake, which come in numerous forms just to hold onto the piece while you split it.
