Lalo Salamanca became one of the best character of Breaking Bad universe despite being introduced so late in the show. Tony Dalton's portrayal of Lalo Salamanca is up there with the greatest bad guys of all time. He is a phenomenal actor.

I'm convinced that Walt wouldn't have stood a chance against Lalo, he was so smart and totally amoral. If Gus hadn't beaten him, with a bit of luck, Walt would have been finished by Lalo with ease
This is brilliant. This was like a reminder that even when Lalo is being all charming, flashing his smiles and telling his jokes, the evil part of him is always present. He hides it well, but you can get glimpses of it if you look closely. A terrifying being with no remorse at all. But that's exactly why we love him. There's no excuses for his actions. There's no tragic past or self conflict. He's just simply evil.
This character deserves a seperate series. We didn't get enough of lalo Salamanca

This is plot armor yes, but Lalo's biggest mistake, as it turned out, was how he never told Hector the details about his suspicions on Gus' superlab. Someone should've known in case he'd die. Then, even if Lalo died, Hector could've dictated the text to the twins with a request to have the laundry checked and Lalo's disappearance investigated properly.
It's a shame that we did not see this character on Breaking bad , Lalo was a genius for real.

Great edit! I really love the quote you included at the end about how little he sleeps and how he spends that time plotting instead. Honestly, I didn't look to deeply into those lines the first time I saw that scene but hearing them back now, its such a small detail of Lalo's charcter that hints at him being more calculating beneath his charming facade
