I guess when you top pruned your peppers, it took extra time for them to recover. But seeing how those plants produced, it was certainly worth the wait! 👍🏾👍🏾

I’m taking advantage of this video learning to grow my own habanero, jalapeño green and red bell peppers. I’ve noticed for the past few weeks or so we have been having a massive shortage of these following peppers every other day I go to make pico de gallo. They are always out, jalapeño serrano, poblano, and poblano peppers and apparently there was a recall on it for some kind of bacteria that gives you an illness and I’m like that indicates they are poisoning our food and we are on about year 4 1/2 now of this food shortage nonsense, where we have very limited items in stock and that’s where I am saying forget these grocery stores being greedy. Great video, thank you, like but in general what you have here is called being behind the plant)) 3 weeks or so. From my 10 years exp with nagas, scorps&habaneros - 1. We put seeds for 12H into warm spring natural water with aqua pump with a pinch of sapropel . 2 CELLS ARE NO GOOD - we transfer as soon as they pop to 0,5L single cups - no root damage as here and grow much better not fighting with each other for light (at day 51 - 2:10 that is a 2 week plants 2. Way way too late transfer to the main bucket 3. Yes pruning does wonders - we do that to most of our plants. Great results but could have x2 kg and much sooner. All the best, good luck.
Hello and thank You for Your feedback. You are right, I live in climate where I have to start hot pepper varieties very early in the year (started these in late January) and grow them on windowsill. Which means much slower growth rate with little sunlight they get. Yes, cells are not the best option, when peppers got rootbound it takes them quite long to get back to growing after planting, but as I've already mentioned, they were grown on windowsill along with other plants (herbs etc.), so they are all kind of fighting for space, if I transplanted them right into single pots, I wouldn't have enough space for other plants on windowsill. Could be much better harvest, but we had terribly cold week in August last year, not only they stopped growing for that week, they also dropped some flowers. Thank You for Your feedback, it's great to hear from someone more experienced in growing hot peppers! ☺🍀 Thank You! All the best and good luck to You too!
Long long time ago we've started from Habanero yellow like yours in vid (we call them gold)) Yes superhot peppers is January) about 200 of them seedlings right now) trying sugar rush stripey full on this year. All the best to you too bro ps we use cheap led 36W lamps with timer, even 2 (4 better) do wonders, regular light (18hour/6h) is the key word & a small fan makes them sturdy @@Liap
we sell 1-2 month seedlings & peppers after harvest. Yes that is why sugar rush stripey - they look&taste amazing. Since most people like no more than 30K scovilles, noone wants our scorpions and nagas) ps thinking about an idea after harvest selling some plants as bonchis)) @@Liap

I love habanero a lot. I live in the Uk and I want to learn how to plant mine. I love gardening but I know nothing about how to start. I need help with the right month to start planting, the name and best soils to use, names of the buckets and stuffs like that. I have gotten my seeds already from Amazon. Pls can someone help me.
Hello. You will most likely have to start habaneros in early february (indoors) or march (indoors with grow lights). You can grow them in containers as small as 10l (2.6gal) to 25l (6.6gal) like me. Depends on what size You have space for. You can see in the video, how it can be done ☺🍀
Came here bc im growing a habanero plant and well my first pod is nice and fat where it began but its all super thin and wrinkly on the new half of the pod and im not sure if its growing fine or if its lacking nutrients like calcium or something
Hello. please tell me, do hot peppers have a certain period? Why do they shed their leaves? Grows on a window in a 12L pot, lighting 3x10W, from 8:00 to 22:00 diode lamps without a plastic diffuser. There was Jamaican hot chocolate. He pollinated with his hands, then the leaves began to fall. After ~5 months, I collected the fruits. The chocolate pepper also had fruit which was also delicious. but the first one is very bald. Now I have yellow fatalia (citrus fruits), a lot of fruits, sometimes I water sodium phosphorus potassium, a liquid solution. Also, after 6 months, the leaves begin to fall off, but also in the window for 3 hours in the sun, only in the morning. Maybe they have some kind of internal period? preparing for winter? from such a pot they are 1.4 meters. Thanks for the answer, like you!
Hello. 1) So You don’t feed the plant with nitrogen at all? 2) The amount of light may be enough when the plant is smaller, but for such a big plant it may not. 3) the plant is most likely rootbound. Good job though, You have grown it to some serious size for that small pot 🌱💪 Hope that helps 😊🍀
I so wanted some habaneros this year. Tried 2 different packets of seed, each in 2 different pots on different windowsills back in February and not a single seed germinated ☹
Have You tried soaking the seeds for a day before planting? It can help rise germination rate, especially if the seeds are old. Also, try covering the pot with plastic wrap. It will keep the moisture inside and You won’t have to water it. Seeds like constant moisture.
I'm planning to sow habanero pepper seeds in this month of March spring but in which month or season you sow the seeds and can these plants tolerate the severe heat of june and July?
Hello. Yes these plants will tolerate heat, but may require frequent watering during that time. I started these seeds in winter and transplanted them in Spring. My apologies for late response, sometimes I lose track of comments...
@@Liap well after two months my habanero peppers died infact never sprouted because of severe heat wave of summer season in Pakistan and india. I will again try to grow them in fall or winter
@@InnerLifePhotography I am not familliar with Your climate. But I grew habanero peppers in an old greenhouse where temperatures rise to 40°C or even exceed it during the hottest summer days and with enough watering, they can handle it. To increase germination rate, You can soak the seeds for 12-24 hours before planting them. Or try germinating them on wet paper towel. Hope that helps ☺🍀
@@InnerLifePhotography Yes, that would be a good idea. What is the weather like during the fall and winter in Pakistan? They need at least 10°C during nights, ideally above 14°C.
How often do you water them? With mine, I noticed one particular plant had most of its leaves fall off on one of the branches along with flowers falling. The other half is barely surviving. Also, 2 of my other plants with the same pot mix and watering frequency are healthy and doing ok. (I water them once every evening)
Hello. The watering frequency increases as they grow. Especially once they start putting on fruit. When plants are packed with fruit, they may require daily watering on clear sky days. What is the temperature? As much as they thrive in warm weather, if it's too hot, they will do exactly what You've just described.
Hi, Brilliant video, do you always have to cut the tops off to bush them out and get a big crop of Peppers? as on some videos that i have watched they still grow a big crop whether you cut the tops off or not, and seeing as you are successful at growing Peppers i thought i would ask, that's if you don't mind. I'm new to growing Peppers Bell and Hot and watching this video and you mentioning growing in sunshine as well, where i live we don't get much sunshine to get the heat unless we have a few weeks of freaky sun, so would growing in a Polycarbonate Greenhouse with the odd bit of sunshine generate enough heat to grow these ones and any other Peppers. Thanks and Take Care, Barry (UK)
Hello! You absolutely do not have to cut the tops off to bush them out. I started these in late January, which is pretty early so I knew they will have enough time to grow big enough and produce ripe fruit. According to the weather conditions You've described, I probably wouldn't touch them, except pruning side shoots. The thing with cutting the tops off is that if You have long enough season, they will produce bigger harvest, but it will take longer. When it comes to Bell peppers, I don't find it reasonably different to cut the tops off. I just remove first flower if it appears too early (when plants are still small). I think it will have success growing them in greenhouse. Thank You very much ☺ Take Care, sending greetings from Slovakia 🍀
Living in Germany near Siegen (USDA 8a) was buying some Habanero and Rawit Mix in the supermarket at January and planted some seeds into some soil in a glass XD Most of them already have 5 to 6 leafs but some are like.. scrambled 😅 The biggest one is still in his glas but not in the center, it's 1cm away from the corner of the glass 🙂 This big one has no coffee grounds as fertilizer like the other ones but this one looks like someone eaten the stem apart 😬 actual weather: 12°C up to 23°C and also some days 1°C to 10°C with almost daily rain. Can I put them out? I had some in the Glasshouse but they died really really fast 😢 I just checked the temperatures midday (last week about 20°C , now around 45°C they died out before it was warmer) any tips or tricks?
Hello. These plants won't tolerate cold weather. They may survive for few days, but they won't do well. Plant them out when night temperatures are above 10°C, ideally above 14°C. My apologies for late response 😐
@@Liap all good. long story short: Fungus Gnats, to early re-potting and bad soil. I live in michigan could i still grow outside here? Or does it get too cold to quick. I could plant them ina day or 2 and harvest toward the end of the summer.
Hello. I grew these in zone 6, which is not exactly their origin weather. And I started them at the end of January if I remember correctly, so they were growing very slowly as seedlings (short days). Accroding to google You live in zone 5, but I think You should give it a try. We also had very cold August last year which also slowed them down. But if You are going to try, You'd better start them seeds right now 🌱
Hello, i have one of those too, i have it from 4 years, and every time he make flowers but they fall, he dont keep flowers, any ideea why? temperature in room, 27Celsius, good light,...i didnt used fertilization, etc...any ideea why?> thanks
Yes it definitely would. But I didn't have enough light for them (windowsill) in their seedling stage and using heatmat would make them leggy. This way they were growing slowly, but not leggy 🙂
Good for You! I live in area with last frost date being in middle of May, so they had slow journey growing from winter, when it’s cold and days are short 🙂

What is the sourse of your seeds? Maybe it is better to take the seeds directly from the friut. It often takes long time, sometimes even 3 weeks. Before planting it is better to put seeds in the glass with water for 24 hours, and then in a peise of wet paper to eait the appearance of the root. In Russia we have special tablets made of coconut fibers or peat.
As for my experience: I have bought Habanero seeds in the official seeds store. 10 seeds. Some young plants were strong, some - weak and died. But it took about ~ 3 weeks from seeding to the first leaves. I used coconut substrate, because the otdinary soil can course rotting. Try to put the seeds in the water for 1-2 days, and let them drown.
Im planning to grow a bunch of different peppers next year, this video helps a lot.

Bigger the pot, the better!
Definitely go for > 5 gallons/18 liters!
Nicely trimmed! A real habanero is at least twice as big
Thank you, after Spring onions l will Maybe try this ❤
Great video, thank you, like but in general what you have here is called being behind the plant)) 3 weeks or so.

Hello. You mean the fruit is wrinkly? That is okay. That means You will most likely have more capsaicin in those peppers 🙂
OMG Beautiful I am drooling😋
Thank You very much ☺🌶
Hello. please tell me, do hot peppers have a certain period?
Good job though, You have grown it to some serious size for that small pot 🌱💪
Hope that helps 😊🍀
Great video. If I let them continue to grow, will they turn orange then red? Or is that a different plant?
Hello. Yes that is a different variety. I will make a video on that one too 🙂
Thank You very much ☺🍀
In which zone are you at? In my state winter starts in October and ends around May.
Hello. I am in zone 6. First frost date mid October, last frost date mid May.
How long do you leave you peppers hanging
Beautiful!
Thank You ☺️🍀
How often do you water them? With mine, I noticed one particular plant had most of its leaves fall off on one of the branches along with flowers falling. The other half is barely surviving.
Also, 2 of my other plants with the same pot mix and watering frequency are healthy and doing ok. (I water them once every evening)
Hello. The watering frequency increases as they grow. Especially once they start putting on fruit. When plants are packed with fruit, they may require daily watering on clear sky days.
What is the temperature? As much as they thrive in warm weather, if it's too hot, they will do exactly what You've just described.
HOT DAMN THOSE ARE SOME PREMIUM PEPPERS!🥵
Thank You ☺🌶
Another great job

Hello. I used fish emulsion here and there after transplanting, but nothing really regular.
Thank You very much ☺
This is an excellent video… !
Thank You very much! I am very happy You like it! ☺🍀
Thanks and Take Care,
Barry (UK)
Thank You very much ☺
Take Care, sending greetings from Slovakia 🍀
Do we have to move them after 38 days, can i just leave them in the one pot?
Yes You can prick them straight to their final growing place.
First time grower here! Does the transplant have to be a grow bag? Or can it just have a bigger pot size
Hello. It can be a container, just make sure it is large enough.
i really wonder how they taste like, i think i have watch this vid for 6 times now, im also growing yellow habanero, the're still 46 days old
They taste slightly fruity from the start, followed by the strong pungency hit 🔥
Beautiful 😊
Thank You very much ☺
Living in Germany near Siegen (USDA 8a) was buying some Habanero and Rawit Mix in the supermarket at January and planted some seeds into some soil in a glass XD Most of them already have 5 to 6 leafs but some are like.. scrambled 😅 The biggest one is still in his glas but not in the center, it's 1cm away from the corner of the glass 🙂
This big one has no coffee grounds as fertilizer like the other ones but this one looks like someone eaten the stem apart 😬 actual weather: 12°C up to 23°C and also some days 1°C to 10°C with almost daily rain. Can I put them out? I had some in the Glasshouse but they died really really fast 😢 I just checked the temperatures midday (last week about 20°C , now around 45°C they died out before it was warmer) any tips or tricks?
Immer erst nach den Eisheiligen bzw. wenn kein Frost mehr zu erwarten ist ins Freie setzen
I'm now focusing on get at least one fruit for seeds and tasting test and then keep them happy/alive hahaha.
Have a great day ^^
And how long before you can harvest them for the second time?
Depends on weather, once they start yellowing and You harvest them regulary, it goes pretty quickly. I harvested the rest in about a week.
Is yellow hotter than orange?
I live in michigan could i still grow outside here? Or does it get too cold to quick. I could plant them ina day or 2 and harvest toward the end of the summer.
Hello. I grew these in zone 6, which is not exactly their origin weather. And I started them at the end of January if I remember correctly, so they were growing very slowly as seedlings (short days). Accroding to google You live in zone 5, but I think You should give it a try. We also had very cold August last year which also slowed them down. But if You are going to try, You'd better start them seeds right now 🌱
You can overwinter chilis! I grow mine in pots and currently have a 3 year old orange habanero plant that keeps producing.
I love it 👍

Second year in a row, not a single yellow habanero came out of a seed. 200 seeds previous year and 200 this year.
Why is that? If You have trouble germinating habanero seeds, You can try to put them on wet paper towel and put it in sealed plastic bag.
@@doctorkharyaga3348 I bought them from agroculture store. This year I bought peppers to extract seeds.
