I adore the subtle passive aggressive mention to the commenter who called out the dangerous sticks in the cakes because “someone could get injured,” while smashing people’s faces into the cakes. 😂
I still dont understand why this a thing. For anyone over 1years of age, cakes are meant to be eaten not smashed in people's faces. Or just order a smash cake for smashing to save the baker trouble. Why order a nice cake that everyone looks forward to eating and waste it.
If you really want to smash someone's face in cake, why don't people just use a slice? I know it's probably not as "satisfying," but it's better than selfishly ruining the whole damn cake, especially if it's a really expensive one.
Yeah for real, it's not the first time people have been injured or actually lost an eye because some(as well I've only seen men do it) person decided to smash someone's head in, without even telling another person just in case so they could attempt to take out any friggin sticks
For context I am a grown adult with teen children however work with young children who introduced me to the amazing Bluey. OMG the Duck Cake episode is soooo good, so relatable and funny. LOVE your duck cake and Bluey cakes.
Super classic Australian cookbook. I remember going through it every year, sometimes for weeks, to decide what I was going to pick out for my birthday cake. It was super exciting.
Next time if you make another cake like this you should use pocky sticks instead of skewers because they work the same but are edible. :) Natalie Sideserf from the UA-cam channel Sideserf Cake Studio who makes hyperrealistic cakes did this and it turned out great.
@@GotAnUmbrella I want to see it so bad!! My family's going to a couple concerts this year so it might be an option, I know all of us are open to travel pretty far. And I totally want to go with them lol, my dad is obsessed with Bandit 😅
My sister made me the Dolly Parton cake, the may pole, the flower basket and the cat with a nightcap that was all outlined in licorice. I'd LOVE to see them recreated for nostalgia! I love your videos. You're my favourite cake decorator on UA-cam. P.s. I used to have a red healer called Ochre, I used to call her Okie Doke.
I actually have this cake book, it's either this one, or the other one that has the Concorde in it and a castle too which my Mum made for birthdays.. she even made me Snow Whites dwarves Cottage, and the thatch roof was made of a LOT of Cadburys flakes 😊
My mum had that book when I was a kid I remember for me she did the mini mouse head and the one with the ballerinas on it and for my brother she did the train and the tiger and the 8 with cars on it. I think she also tried the heart cake with meringue hearts around the sides but it didn’t turn out, oh and she did the castle cake for me as well, sorry for the ramble, I’m remembering stuff as I type lol. I’m sure there were others as well that I can’t remember…oh she also did the Dolly Varden cake for me as well, I was only 3 or 4 so nearly forgot that one haha. But I remember loving looking through the pictures every birthday (or other random times) for inspiration. I might borrow it for my son’s second birthday in July for inspo, I did a rodeo cake for his 1st that turned out really well, but I want even better this year.
I don't think there was a single kid in Australia during the 90s who didn't have enough one of these in their house It was like our version of picking a cake from pictures 😊
I put my cake off cuts in a Tupperware container and give them to my husband as snacks lol I'm "that mum" who let's my kids flip through pinterest to find birthday cake inspiration then makes kicks it up a notch. For by daughters first birthday in making a carebear rainbow cake.
I STILL HAVE A BIRTHDAY CAKE BOOK FROM WOMENS WEEKLY LMAOOO It has a sticker award with the year 2003 on it so it’s either from then or a little later My mom got it like fifteen years ago when we still lived there and now it sits in our American pantry 😢😊
I'm *SO* glad you changed the eye color. I usually like creepy things but, for some reason, those eyes on that duck was just too much for me. 😆
I was wondering why it looked so weird lol
Same lol
Hate
@@joansee624 it’s not hate dude we’re just saying that we appreciate the eye colour. It looks amazing. We aren’t saying it looks bad
I was thinking same thing. 🤢
Very clever making the filling look like a fried egg!
I thought the same thing lol 😂
I didn't know if it was on purpose or not, I just thought it was neat!

I'll never understand why so many people (in my experience, all of them men) think it's ok to slam someone's head into a cake like this.
@@Furrina89 honestly same. Let someone smash my face into my very expensive birthday cake... Imma slash their tires.

Good on ya Bandit. Making a cake is hard when it’s not something you do every day, let alone having to carve it and make it look like a duck.
this comment sounds like a direct quote from Pat
Seeing that book has brought back an abundance of memories, thank you for this
Same, most of my kids cakes came from these books
The filling is so clever. The colors are supposed to represent an egg, right? LOL
Haha nope, I just wanted some lemon curd in the cake! Happy coincidence 🥰
I turn 22 this year. Is this the cake I'm getting? Absolutely yes
For context I am a grown adult with teen children however work with young children who introduced me to the amazing Bluey. OMG the Duck Cake episode is soooo good, so relatable and funny. LOVE your duck cake and Bluey cakes.
I love how that book exists 😆 Is this an Australian publication? I'm assuming since they made a cake out of it on Bluey.
Yep! Been around since the 80’s!
@@tiggamacI just bought a brand new one!
It's the Australian women's weekly cake book from the 80's

“Just stab ‘em right into the body” 😂 such a cute cake! Love it!
Finally some one complete bingo birthday cake 🎂😂😂

Bandit had a breakdown because he couldn't make this cake🤣🤣🤣
I always wondered what Bingo's cake was meant to look like!
Visit the ScranLine here on UA-cam and he does it EXACTLY like the book and it’s actually pretty funny 😂
Back with the Bluey cakes!! I love it!! One of my favorite shows ❤❤
If you can see Blueys's Big Play. I just did and I definitely recommend.

Kudos to your committment to research that you had to go through a WHOLE BAG of crisps for the beak, honestly, that is amazing!!! 🤣😂🐤
Oh my gosh I just watched that episode with my daughter 20 minutes ago 😂
Cute cake! My little cousin had the same one for her birthday last year, she loves Bluey! 💙🎂
Poor bandit. He fixed it in the end though even if it did go through a laryngectomy 😂
I LOVE Bluey so much could you make muffin please
My mum had that book when I was a kid, I remember looking through it at the pictures and seeing that duck cake. I wonder if she still has it.
That duck looks like he’s on “quack!”😂
This is bloody glorious, good on ya mate
Can you do more cakes from this book- the best cake book ever made!
I need that book!!!
Though I'm in the USA, it just reminds me of all the "creative" cakes of the 70s & early 80s! 🤣
Attempting this tomorrow. THANK YOU for the tip about the eye colour.
Lol Bandit's duck cake 😂😂😂
Your's looks so much better than what's in the book and yes the orange eyes are horrible!
Thank you for doing this!
Love the duck cake it would be sweet even without the popcorn and still adorable 🤗
That looks fantastic! Almost too good to eat. 10/10 👏

Ahhhh the classic women’s weakly book 😂😂❤
The icing between the layers is glorious
In Bandit's defense, he was juggling the cake with making her Bluey was cleaning up.
R.I.P Bandits cake lol
ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE
My nieces love bluey!!! I will definitely show them❤️ they loved your bluey and bingo cake that you made!!
I love you videos!
Omg that cake book brings so many memories!! We had the exact same one and most of our cakes were from there growing up!
My daughter is having a rubber duckie baby shower. I definitely won’t be using chips for a beak. Lol
Looks so 70’s !
Do the swimming pool cake next
Cute
Love how your lemon curd and buttercream layer looks like a fried egg!!! 😆😆

So cute and lovely🦆🥰
Making great bkuey cake! Continue! Make bandit please!😊
so beautiful
I love Bluey❤️
The filling layer with lemon curd made me think of a duck egg. Not sure if it was intentional, but fun.
My mum had this book :D I loved looking at all the cakes :D
Looks freaking great Tigga, Katie's was brilliant as well
AGHHH I LOVE BLUEYYYYYY😂
I like your method of assembling the body, it’s not awkward l like it would be assembling it vertically and you have an option to add filling
I would like to see u make the duck cake in your own creative standard cake way
LOL I thought you meant orange M&MS are creepy. Then I rewatched and saw the original picture. Haha that makes sense now.
Adorable
So cute!
I love the Duck Cake! So cute!
