Very nice! That's a quick way to turn a cheap board in to something MAGNIFICIENT! If birds could speak English, they'd give me an AMEN. Thanks for helping the little critters and educating and inspiring bird lovers.
This is a neat project, im getting ready to try it out with some cedar pickets. they were only $3 each at menards vs $25 ea. for the same size (a little nicer) cedar dimensional lumber boards. I was also looking at their bird feeders, and got an idea to add a suet basket on the side like their more expensive feeders have. I might try adding one to it,, not sure yet or not though. I might make my base 10" long to give them a larger perch too. Will see how much material I have left first though. Thanks for the excellent video!!
Birds such as Cardinals and Blue Jays will need a larger area in which to stand. I suggest extending the trough out further, Additionally cut an old bicycle inner tube and tack a piece across the hinge area to keep water from leaking through the roof and ruining the feed,
Love it your video is easy to follow and I’m getting started on making it right now. I watched some other ones and everything was precision and way too complicated for a simple project so I appreciate your video. Looks great I’m going to fancy it up a bit but otherwise it’s perfect. Thanks
Well I don’t know how to add a picture but we made one! My husband used scraps around the garage for our first time and it turned out great. 😊 i’m going to add some 'fancy' to it. Lol
Very nice, might want to add some purches to extend out a bit on the sides where the food is. Peace and good fortune and good health to you and your family.
Thank you for this easy inexpensive bird feeder, I have started making this with my older Male client with dementia and cancer. He was a tradie, to see his face light up to get back on the tools safely is awesome. I'm not great with social media, could you please send me a link to the bird house for our next project
PERFECT project for a beginner, or to make with a child or grandchild, and it can be painted and decorated in all kinds of colors. The only limit is the imagination, as long as oil, paint, etc. is "food-safe" aka: wouldn't poison the food!! And remember; always have clean water (and container!) for the animals to drink, and sometimes also take a bath. :D
Do you ever stain the wood or put a shellac for these bird feeders? If so, what would you recommend? I know everyone prefers different colors, I am asking for the preservation of the bird house/feeders. I do know that none should be put inside.
In response to Mike Ledee. I solved the problem of squirrels climbing up the pole. Put GREASE (ball bearing heavy grease) on the pole. It will not wash off by rain !
What is the experience with this design with squirrels? I'm thinking the narrower trough outlet for the seeds slows the squirrels down? Thanks for the video.
I don't have every tool from these many wood projects either but a reciprocating saw, jigsaw, and circular saw have kept me active in making a lot of wood projects. You can forgo a jigsaw but you just won't be able to make some curved cuts . However, it just means, make your cuts more straight and it probably is OK too!
I wear one of these instead of my nice wedding ring when I go to work, or when working on things like this, or metalworking, so that my finger doesn't get torn off or the skin peeled off if it gets caught. When I'm not working I wear the real one. The silicone rings only cost about $15-25
You can use a protractor to get the angles. Eg, a protractor can easily give you the 20-degree angle to cut with. Although the video said that glue was sufficient, but IMO, the tool used in this video that helps more than all the different kinds of saws, is the brad nailer. You can make this project with a hand saw, slower but still possible. But the brad nailer is very useful for doing some small nails into these pieces of wood. Yes, it can be done with nail and hammer also but you would need more balancing and just more care to not bust up a particular side of the feeder.
As a newbie to woodworking I appreciate the simplicity of this birdhouse and with minimal tools. I can’t wait to make this with my kids!
Great video!
So glad you like it
To us, you are the smartest man in the world! You have brought us the happiness to build the birdhouse within an hour! Thank you!

Grear Job! I like how the roof hangs over the food in case it is raining.
Thank you. Just trying to keep it fresh for the visitors.
Great video!! My wife wants one so, imma use your video. Thanks!!
AWESOME BUILD! I 'll make a couple this weekend.
You are a nice guy. Glad to know you are out there!
Great job of simply explaining. Thanks!

I still remember when I meet you at Maker Faire NY. You're such a nice and chill guy. Your content has been also great lately keep it up!
Thanks Angel, It was awesome to meet you too.
Nice Video
Thanks for sharing
Good job I like this;; Getting back into woodworking and your video helps inspire me.
Nice and quick!❤️ Thanks

Great video! Explanations were clear and the build was easy to follow.
I like it and it looks awesome great job👍
Thanks for this. I made the same thing out of a scrap fence post. I got birds visiting the morning I put it up.
That's AWESOME
Love your creativity! Thank you!
Thanks for the. Video.
Love it! Thanks so much for the video.
Interesting idea with hinges. Nice job.
Gonna need that giant first aid kit

Really nice. Thanks so much for a great explanation and demonstration.
Awesome. Thanks!
Very nice. Thanks a lot.
I am watching you for a long time.
I am from Iraq.
Thank you for being with us for a long time.

You have a lot of videos about pvc ideas. They are useful and wonderful.
That's a very simple plan thank you
Interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome work
Very nice

Excellent job
Cool

Very nice bird feeder! 👍😁👍
Thank you
Just done haven’t seen any birds yet but thanks for the vid

Nice quick project. Looks great too.
Thanks
Great video I'm going to do this project with my kids
That is awesome to hear.
This is a reliable birdhouse!
Nice job =) love the bloopers lol. You should add more at the end =)
Thanks, we are trying to use them more
Cool, will make a bunch tomorrow! I got scrap...
That's a tweet idea! "Birds Of A Feather Flock Together"
Can't remember who actually whom the quoat is from.👍🏻
LOL, thanks
Love it 😀 very nice .. do you have any plans for this .. I was planning on building this one for myself.
Do you ever stain the wood or put a shellac for these bird feeders? If so, what would you recommend? I know everyone prefers different colors, I am asking for the preservation of the bird house/feeders. I do know that none should be put inside.
Can you tell me the model of Ryobi nailer you're using
I assume you use short screws to fasten the bird house to the post. They do not want to come through the floor. Great video thanks.
In response to Mike Ledee. I solved the problem of squirrels climbing up the pole. Put GREASE (ball bearing heavy grease) on the pole. It will not wash off by rain !
nice and easy, thank you!
What is the experience with this design with squirrels? I'm thinking the narrower trough outlet for the seeds slows the squirrels down? Thanks for the video.
Could you consider making a feeder with a glass bottle please your instructions are really easy to follow
When it rains, the feed will be a mess. If it’s not kept dry, it will obviously clump together and if not removed, will grow mold
same with any bird feeder ?
How wide is the board that u started with?
How about a follow up video on that well you dug? Did you ever get clean water from it?
What about cleaning this feeder, how often and with what? Thank you.
How did you cut 20 degrees on your miter saw
Thanks for the video. Just want to ask which hardware did you use to attach metal pole with the bird feeder?
It was a threaded metal flange that was already on the pole
#STAYSAFE
i love you
How easy is it to clean? I cant decide whether i should just buy plastic with some silver coating for germ protection 😪
I assume you are using 1x6s?
Wish I had your tools. 😀 could I make it with just a hand saw?
It would take a while, but if you cut carefully, maybe.
My bride asked my today to get a bird feeder.
The righteous one takes care of his domestic animals
Awesome good video
Why didn't you fiix something for the birds to stand on while eating
you can add that for your bird feeder.
let us know what you did!
What is this black kind of ring you have on the left hand? Noticed many woodworkers has it.
It is a silicone ring. Just incase it gets stuck on something, it will tear before my finger gets trapped.
@@SpecificLove7 do you wear it over your wedding band ? because i have wondered this too.
I wear one of these instead of my nice wedding ring when I go to work, or when working on things like this, or metalworking, so that my finger doesn't get torn off or the skin peeled off if it gets caught. When I'm not working I wear the real one. The silicone rings only cost about $15-25
safety glasses, lol
What is the glue type?
Type 3
Do you know
if the guys at home depot would cut it for me?
add a cut list>
I thought cedar wasn't recommended for a bird/bat house or feeder due to it's natural oil.
Have you had any problems with squirrels climbing up the pole?
We have an outside cat, so we don't see many squirrels.
Home sweet home
Any chance you can record these videos using real measurements!
I'm just starting woodworking i would like to see the exact measurements for each piece.
what about a squirrel-proof bird feeder?
Not yet, but I've been thinking about it.
btw, love your videos :)!
What if I don’t have those fancy wood cutting gadgets
You can use a protractor to get the angles. Eg, a protractor can easily give you the 20-degree angle to cut with.

Why is cutting like that dangerous with a miter saw?
Y
I dont think that roof opens!
Nice video, but you need to slow down and speak clearly.
thuis was ikay but could do better :)
