    As always Paw Paw very informative video. I would like to use this flat bar technique to replace the standard round brass z probe I got with my X carve. How would you change the thickness settings for the new probe in Easel?

    • @PawPawsWorkShop
      @PawPawsWorkShop  4 роки тому

      When you are in a project you have to go back into the machine setup and follow through with all the steps. When you get to the probe, touch for contact, the screen will pop up with continue or at the bottom is advanced. Click on that selection and you will be able to change all the settings including the plate thickness.

    If you had a piece of wood secured to the work surface, could you use the same probe to set the X and Y zeros by placing the metal vertically against the the edges of the board?

      Interesting thought. I am going to build a three axis probe, again, I am going to do it with scrap material I have around the shop. It will not be long.

    Hi, this amazing tutorial video, clear and easy to follow, I'm using UGS v2.0, I have tried using the Probe Module plugin and I have a little trouble implementing it, can you make a video using UGS v2.0, I really appreciate it, thanks

    So the purpose is to make sure and have the bit touching the surface that your cutting and your spot on every time. Correct??

    • @PawPawsWorkShop
      @PawPawsWorkShop  Місяць тому

      Yes, that is correct. You must tell the machine where it is exactly

    • @PawPawsWorkShop
      @PawPawsWorkShop  Місяць тому

      Yes, this tell the machine exact where the tip of the bit is located on the z axis

    Paw Paw, in UGS go to Tools, Plugins, Click Probe Manager.... Now you will have a Tab Called Probe Manager. Then you can do this process without having to use Console.

    • @PawPawsWorkShop
      @PawPawsWorkShop  4 роки тому

      What version of UGS is that found? I do not see that in version 1.0.9 that I am using.

    I've got an X-Carve with a Z-probe. Do you have a video that shows how to ensure that the machine knows the exact thickness of the puck? I had some strange results tonight. Thanks!

    • @PawPawsWorkShop
      @PawPawsWorkShop  3 роки тому

      As you go through the machine setup it will ask if you are using the probe. If you say yes it will take you to a separate menu where you will key in the information including the thickness of the probe puck. It will then as you to test and then complete the setup.

    Love all of your videos, but 3.1 mm is 0.122 inches, not 0.125 inches - or 1/8 inch: 3.1mm/25.4mm/inch = 0.122 inches. Not a huge deal because you're not risking crashing your bit into the wasteboard with your setup, but you are still 0.003 inches above your board.
    Keep making the great, and very useful, videos!

    • @PawPawsWorkShop

      That is why when I put it to 0 it went to .002. Thank you very much for this information. You are 100% correct. I believe that I can live with .003 off.
