I worked at The Cal Neva Lodge back in 1981-83.. and my Dad was the Maître D in the showroom that Frank built in 1965. ( Sinatra built the showroom earlier in and around ( 1960- 61 ) I live down the hill in Reno now, but lived 27 years up at the lake. 🎆

To me, cassettes never had the appeal that vinyl records have as collector's items. I've never bought a prerecorded tape. I bought lots of cassettes back in the day, but just to create mixtapes from my records to have my favorite music available in my room or in the family's car (or maybe to record silly stuff with family and friends).
BTW, I'm a sucker for 7" records with picture sleeves because they were pretty rare in my country. Not inexistent, but for the most part they came in a (first paper, then plastic) company sleeve.

tapes have their place for sure. I think they work well for certain underground, diy projects. I've recorded music onto cassette myself. I too remember recording songs onto blank tapes as a kid (in my case it was usually from the radio).
Picture sleeves can be fun for sure. I may do a video on the 7"s I have at some point.

My favorite kind of video's and I am a hard core thrifter ! Are you checking out Tuco's amazing digs lately ? "Tuco The Vintage Vinyl Hunter' Super cool finds.. Yesterday I scored an Aretha Franklin LP for 1.00 that I never had, and a good one too from 1974."With Everything I Feel In Me". 🤓
