On a side note, really sucks that "Don't Let Him Near a Live Mic Ever" Jimmy Rave had to get one of his arms amputated due to bacterial infection. That had to have been horrible to go through.
I saw it live like more than 10 yrs ago several months before Punk was given a feud against Morrison. Think it was Monty Brown's 1st year of signing with the Wwe's Ecw. He pinned Punk with that finisher of his where he would whipped his opponent across the ropes and hit them with a shoulder pounce as they ran back. Me and my friends were like Wtf after he was cleanly pinned coz everyone expected Punk to win as he was build up as the future of Ecw. Maybe if you were subscribed to wwe network, you can probably find the video.

I'll admit, I was a MASSIVE Matt Morgan mark in TNA. What hurt him IMO was the company never having enough faith to move forward with him. I remember when he wrestled Kurt Angle at BGF 2009, thinking it was going to be a stepping stone for him. Turned out to be his highest accomplishment. Being stuck in dead tag teams with Abyss and Hernandez did nothing for him. If they gave him a mid-card belt and let him run with it like the TV title/Global/Legends title, perhaps he could have had some momentum. Otherwise, he never really had the chance to show anything.
Sean Waltman's entire run in TNA would make for an interesting Ring Of The Hawk episode. The former X-Pac only had 28 matches in TNA across three runs in 2002-03, 2005-06 and 2010.
I’ve been a mixed martial arts ring announcer since 2000. Matt attended an event at Rupp Arena where we had about 5 to 6000 people there. He came up three times to the promoter who was sitting next to me and repeatedly asked him to point him out in the crowd because he was “a big deal and the next big thing“. We finally relented but it gave me a good look at what was driving Matt. It was the fame and notoriety. The same two things that would propel me if I had his talent and physique. The point I’m trying to make is that maybe those things affected how he was booked and how he carried himself? Who knows. He was a nice guy but he had that big man ego.
How about Mason Ryan in WWE? If I counted right, he had 30 matches between Raw, Smackdown, NXT and PPV, out of like 221 matches, the rest on house shows, dark matches, or Mania Axxess

You could've got him to drop the stuttering gimmick by simply doing an angle where he gets knocked upside the head with a chair or something which just made the stutter disappear.
It's Vince, the same guy who thought The Undertaker would be great as giant hen gimmick called The Goobly gooker before he became The Undertaker. He also came up with the Man-Tar gimmick which was one of the worst wrestling gimmick of all time along with the Yeti character which was basically a Mummy and nothing related to an actual Yeti. 🤦♂️🤦♂️

Honestly I think management always lost faith in him for some reason and was booked into some stupid storylines in regards to his TNA career, his WWE career fizzled was cause he was still too green but I found it weird he never got a second shot with them. He had a great look, could wrestle a good big man style match and was passable and believable on the mic. They came up with a really cool name for his big boot (Or was it a bicycle kick? I can't remember) finisher calling it "The Carbon Footprint" and "The DNA of TNA" was such an awesome nickname. Not even the guys who were in TNA at the same time as him know why he never got that big mega push management always seemed to tease
I had a lot of hope for Matt Morgan in TNA because TNA was doing a great job building up talent at the time Matt Morgan got into TNA, but that would change as TNA would make 1 stupid decision after another. Most due to Dixie Carter and Vince Russo.
I think Matt Morgan was good in TNA, the biggest thing that was his problem was being sub par in charisma, cause he moved pretty good for a big guy. Plus I'm a sucker for kick moves and liked his carbon foot print.
One wrestler who I think would be perfect for this series is Gunner Scott AKA Brent Albright. Brent, under his new WWE name, was pushed to the moon when he debuted on Smackdown in 2006 AKA the era of bad (but somehow memorable) Smackdown gimmicks. Brent was heralded as the next technical wrestling machine and often feuded/tagged with Chris Benoit, but just like that, after 7 matches on Smackdown (5 more matches if you count Velocity), he got sent back down to developmental. I'll admit I haven't seen much of Brent throughout his career, but I did enjoy watching back some of his WWE and OVW matches recently , especially those against CM Punk for OVW's Heavyweight Title. Also, fun fact: Brent Albright beat Matt Morgan to win his first OVW Heavyweight Title.

I do suffer from a speech impediment, like the gimmick, and it was just stupid
For over 12 years he was a can't miss prospect. Anyone that's a can't miss prospect that long missed. He's a huge dude but he never really had that "IT" factor. Couldn't really talk much or have much of a presence and never really had any memorable matches so it says a lot when TNA never put their main Championship on him. By all accounts seems to be a decent dude tho.
Morgan was called up too early. However, his work with guys like Benoit and Angle really helped his progress. When he was at TNA I really liked him. Thought he looked very good, especially in his later years. They used him right for the first year or so acting mainly as a bodyguard. If he was in developmental for 2-3 more years before his first callup, I'm pretty sure hed be a lot better.

I thought he was a great fit for WWE since Vince McMahon loves his big muscular guys. Brown also had a bangin' entrance theme. In total, he had 21 matches in WWECW. 3 - ...Just gonna wait for that Wes Brisco episode. Not including Xplosion, One Night Only and live events, Wes had 13 matches in TNA therefore it counts.

Closest he came was that match with Kurt Angle. I think it was even at Bound For Glory. I think it was 2009 that he was getting a big push, but then Hogan, Bischoff and a bunch of other guys came into the company in 2010 and Morgan just got lost in the shuffle and could never get his momentum back.
Could have worked if he wasn't supposed to be a heel and the commentators weren't always laughing at him. I had a really bad stutter growing up so it would have been really cool to see this huge jacked dude who used to get picked on as a kid because of his speech impediment kicking the ass of anyone who made fun of him now
Matt Morgan didnt even scratch the surface in WWE. They cut him before he had a shot. He was a legit 7 footer who was agile and can do high flying. They did him dirty.

Closest he came was that match with Kurt Angle. I think it was even at Bound For Glory. I think it was 2009 that he was getting a big push, but then Hogan, Bischoff and a bunch of other guys came into the company in 2010 and Morgan just got lost in the shuffle and could never get his momentum back.

Matt Morgan didnt even scratch the surface in WWE. They cut him before he had a shot. He was a legit 7 footer who was agile and can do high flying. They did him dirty.
