Over half mile away, cars are INSIDE your garage, you are in a MOVING METAL car and it didn't cut out until you were presumably over the hill.....ELRS is truly impressive.
YES! I was astounded at how it performed!!!
@@RoadsideRCI use elrs on my 3d drones before I used tbs crossfire and I can say antenna placement correct I will lose signal through my DJI goggles every time before my elrs radio signal or telemetry drops out it’s truly next level especially on 2.4ghz on 900mhz there’s videos of wings doing 100 miles look up Wesley varty
I installed the Radiomaster E5 PWM receiver on my Typhon and i'm using my Radiomaster Boxer FPV radio and its awesome, i didn't want to buy another radio so now i can use my RM Boxer for both fpv and rc cars, so cool, ELRS and EdgeTX are the best thing that happened in rc in a long time. I've been using ELRS on my quads since it started out and i never have lost a signal yet. Radiomaster is taking over both fpv and now rc vehicles.
You are using a Boxer on your cars! That is fun! I am so used to pistol-style radios that I would struggle! :)
Welcome to FPV links! ELRS has achieved 100KM Loved seeing your excitement about ELRS. And to think that ELRS was gifted to the community from a small group of pilot developers. They totally upended the market and gifted it for free to everyone, and broke the strangle hold that the manufacturers had on us.
It certainly is really a great technology!
them rascal FPV nerds :P
Radiomaster has been a real leader these last two years.
They LISTEN, try to comprehend what is being said, and come up with a solution that shows good feedback to the speakers.
In this case, US.
Nice! I am glad to support a company like that!
Already preordered. I have waited years for this. its better than I hoped and cheaper than I could justify. this is a no brainer if you are not scared to learn through edgetx and elrs and yes BOTH have STEEP learning curves. make no mistake about it.
I'm just wondering being this is their first surface radio, what they will come up with next? The TX16S is the best radio I've ever had with the most features and the lowest price.
Love that Radiomaster finally made a surface radio with EdgeTx. When i got into drifting I 3D printed a pistol radio shell for the Qx7 and ran EdgeTx and ELRS and it was great! got lots of attention at the track but then made the switch to Futaba for the on radio tunning. EdgeTX actully supports user written scripts that can do telemetry over the air link. so if anyone can crack/reverse engineer the futaba/acuvance protocol, we could get tunning on radio in EdgeTx as well.
Yes! That would be EPIC if someone could figure that out!
This radio is going to disrupt the industry! That is impressive!
That is what I am thinking!
Too many folks sleeping on it
great part about edge TX is you can LITERALLY swap channel 1 and channel 2 if you wanted.. ;)
Read up on ELRS also. After it’s powered up and not connected to a radio it turns on its WiFi mode. You then can connect to the RX and set a bind phrase. Do the same with the TX and put the SAME bind phrase in that and BAM it auto connects to any rx with that bind phrase
Interesting! Thank you!
I love your enthusiasm. You’re also going to love the radio.
Thank you!
I own all the Radiomaster drone radios! with ELRS .. this company is the future of RC !!
The future looks great, doesn't it? :)
Just got into 1/10 drifting coming from quads, I'm really excited to have a ground radio that uses the same firmware and protocol as my flight radio.
That will be an upcoming video for me! I am going to install this radio on my RWD drift car and see how it does communicating with the gyro, etc.
Same,this radio is definilty interesting.
I just got into drifting as well. If you only have three cars does it make sense to get the 4in1 or the elrs?
FANTASTIC review, dude! Really well done!!! 😃
FPV pilot here (but I also do FPV with cars and airplanes!), but I don't have ELRS yet... I'm a poor guy from Brazil. 😬
But this radio is definitely a game changer!
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
And happy new year!
Thank you!
Great review troy, sounds to be a awesome radio, can already tell its way above my knowledge, seems like it got you all excited, a good thing,as always enjoy your videos
Thanks Thomas!
Yes, this radio could really be a game-changer in the RC world!
Wow, thanks for doing a vid on this! It sounds like the perfect one for me! I'm not afraid of complexity, and I like as much versatility and adjustability I can get. Your vid is very well done, like all your vids. Thanks again!
Awesome! Glad this was helpful. Thank you for the kind words.
After my experience with it - I think the 4in1 internal version is a smarter choice for most surface folks - and you can always add the ELRS module for the times you want to go long range.
Since I have the ELRS internal version, I am getting the 4in1 external module to see how it works! More to come.
Sick review Troy. This thing is pretty remarkable
It really is!
Thanks!
I pre-ordered mine a few days ago, this thing is a total game changer and will ultimately save me several hundred dollars over the next few years. I am working on one of those dancing trucks in 1/10 scale...this thing is going to keep me from having to run 2 different remotes to do it.
Nice! Glad to hear it.
Did you go with ELRS or 4-in-1?
@@RoadsideRC 4 in 1
Stoked for this! Pre-ordered it.
Awesome! Which one did you get? ELRS or 4in1?
@@RoadsideRC I got the ELRS. I have another radiomaster radio for my fpv drones so pretty familiar with them.
Nice radio for the price. It even has a SD slot and headphone jack on the side. It has more features than most radios. Great job sharing this with us.
Agree 100% The features are a little complicated, but VERY nice.
Dude! that was crazy! this was fun to watch, now I want it! thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'll be putting it in my drift car soon. More to come!
Awesome overview! I'm learning to fly drones which means I'm also learning Edge TX myself. Personally I think radiomaster made a very special radio here. I say just keep up with it man you'll be able to tweak everything about these cars! This radio is going to sell well.
I agree 100!
That 4in1 system can use NB4 receivers! Damn. This really is a radio to watch!
100%!!!
I screwed up in getting the ELRS version, but will add the 4in1 module to try it.
Troy this new transmitter will be a game changer for r/c car guys. I have been running elrs on my flysky gt3b for almost a year now. I come from the fpv drone world lol and have personally gone out 15 miles with my long range drones a 100mw the output power from the transmitter is actually adjustable from the Elrs script in the menu where you went in the video to bind the receiver
Nice! Yes, I adjusted my output to the max 250mw.
I think the surface folks will have some learning to do on the user interface, but after that - it is GAME ON!
@@RoadsideRC yeah i want to get one they are on pre order I think now. I am assuming yours has internal elrs. So you would have to get an external module to use other protocols. I need to contact radiomaster and see if the 4 in 1 version will allow you to still use the 6 and 7 fg receivers. With an external elrs module you could actually run 1w at full power
I’ve got mine on order for speed running, looking forward to testing.
Awesome! I will be curious what you think about it!
Did you get the ELRS version?
@@RoadsideRC yes Elrs currently using wifi boosters to get the range but with high latency at full distance.
I use expressLRS in my drones and plane with FPV and do 30-60mile flights out and still have tons of radio signal to spare, it’s the video holding me back. ELRS is gonna take over for sure.
Interesting! Thanks for the info!
I was going to buy the radiolink 8 as I’ve been using radiolink for years and have lots of rx . I ordered this so quick when I found out it will bind to all of my rx I have . I bought the 4 in 1 , pretty happy I don’t have to buy 20 to 30 new rx for all my cars .
YES! Great deal. I hope you enjoy it!
I have been waiting for this. Its well built and elrs + edge tx is some powerful stuff. It is a learning curve, complicated, and will include some frustration. I am all for it. Futaba and rest has fleast the the ground crew for far too long
I think you are right! Some of the other big names better be watching out!
Very nice 👍 I love the flexibility of the controller
I agree! Has a lot of potential. Now just need to see if I am smart enough to use it! :)
I am so excited for this radio. I've been using Radiomaster and ELRS for a few years now with my multirotors and I am so happy Radiomaster has come out with a surface radio with a Nano Module bay. I've pre-ordered the 4-in1 MT12 and will be able to slap on my ELRS external module and get 2000mw (2 watts) of transmit power instead of the stock 250mw transmit power from the internal transmitter hahaha. It's so overkill for surface stuff but hey, maybe I wanna slap on one of my DJI video transmitters to a basher and do some FPV on the ground lol.
As for your (accurate) observation on the complexity of the EdgeTX OS, and for anyone who might be a little intimidated, I would say that it is 95% programmed out of the box and the last 5% is all easily found in the manual or online. But instead, the real complexity is more like all the extra stuff after 100% that you never have to mess with if you don't want.
Thanks for the great overview of the radio and as a new subscriber, I look forward to checking out the rest of your content. Finally to end this long winded comment I'll just say it warms my heart to think of this radio as a little bridge between the ground and air (multirotor at least) hobbies. I'm always trying to get friends who fly to also do some driving and friends who drive to do some flying so these 2 hobbies continue to expand and thrive!
Awesome - thanks for the detail!
My son and I do a little FPV as well. I like your bridge analogy - hopefully it is true!!
Your idea to put your FPV camera on the car is really good. I have done it with a drift car and a crawler. Takes the experience to a different level!!!
great video! this is the perfect option ive been looking for for my kid and me with crawling and racing. ive been worried about getting him an super expensive transmitter just because he is 9 and accidents happen. Two quick questions, did yours come with the adapter that allows you to connect to flysky receivers? also the knob to the left of the wheel, does it have a center detent? just wondering if we could set up 4 steer easily?
Hi there! This *might be good for your foray into drifting as well... just saying! :)
I did screw up when I made my choice. I chose the ELRS version - which gives super fast control and long-distance range. BUT I should have chosen the 4-in-1 model. It is the one that can connect to EVERYTHING. And, you can still add an ELRS module to it if you want.
@@RoadsideRC Do you think the 4-1 will still have pretty low latency for racing and drifting?
@@rc_amigos I assume it will.
And if you really wanted to get super fancy, you can add the ELRS module onto the 4-in-1. If I had realized that ahead of time, that is the route I would have gone.
Oh and the awesome thing is that the receivers are like $20 and under!
If this can use all my current recivers without much trouble its definitely on my list.
100% You will want the 4-in-1 model instead of the ELRS model!
…yes…im hyped to and preordered one in a second…flewn with radiomaster and now elrs since their start…got about 100 planes and drones but nothing surfaced for now…still preordered because…its radiomaster, open source, cheap, elrs, edgetx (opentx 😢), looks good…i diy scratchbuild and will start to build something for the radio when it comes…hmmm…a crawler…or perhaps a tank…what scale…what size…material for the caterpillar tracks…???…thank you for the enthusiastic post and welcome to the long range world of elrs…ps: i went the other way around, 4-1 internal module and my different elrs external modules to backpack on top…
Hi there! With your experience, sounds like you could teach us something on this radio! I just don't know what questions to ask yet. ;)
I think you did right going with the 4in1.
Nice review!
Thanks!
Hey Troy, I am thinking about getting one of these for my FPV-Summit. Do you also have a nano 4in1 module for it? I'd be interested in how well that works with existing receivers, especially FlySky receivers.
I don't! 100% screw up on my part. I got the ELRS version - which you can add a 4in1 module to for $60.... BUT, if I had gotten the internal 4in1, adding the ELRS module is cheaper!
That is super impressive! I would put this above the Futaba and it's wayyy cheaper! Nice!!!
It has really surprised me!
ELRS, at 100mW, was tested for up to 30km in clear line of sight, and then the pilot had to return because the video cut out. The link itself had way more range still. And there are nano ELRS modules with 10 times the power.
And it's not just a long range link, it's got some nice performance as well. Everyone in the drone hobby has been losing their minds over it for the last three years because it's just that freaking good.
It really does seem to be great!
A guy did 100km with ELRS, I just don't remember how much mw he used.
Unfortunately, he had to remove his long range flights because of bureaucrats. 😕
Really interested in this controller ill wait for the drift review video
I'm on it!!!
also regarding the distance run..out of the box it is configured to 50mw on ELRS.. at least mine was.. both futaba and spektrum run about a half watt or 500mw.. the internal ELRS i THINK is capible of 250mw.. so in theory you could be able to go way further if you turn it up ;)
Good point!
I have a tx16s since release, finally knowing that both ground and air have the exact same programming menu is so great, that mean that you can look at a tutorial to set fancy function for an air radio and replicate the same thing. You don't have to wait 1 year for community's to create tutorial on how to do something, all of it is already available.
One IMPORTANT point you missed is, you can get the 4 in 1 version(multiprotocol), while the range will become on par with other radio, you will be able to bind to about everything air/ground/banggood foam plane/Futaba/Flysky/Spectrum.
YES! I chose the ELRS version, but for most surface folks, the 4-in-1 is probably the smarter choice. Very good point.
You can have both with the module expandability.
Does this have a 3 position momentary switch like what's found on the Spektrum Dx5c?
It has the SA switch right near the thumb. It is not momentary, but is a 3-position switch.
looks a very good controller nice review mate handy its programmable too a good test too on the range as you say complicated I thought that too
*💯always full views💢Au👍hit the like👍*
Thanks 👍
Could you review the DDF 350
Dumborc just gained some serious quality.
Thanks for your videos Troy
I just added it to my list! Thanks for the heads-up. I hadn't seen that one yet.
Also it's backwards compatible with all the other dumborc receivers
I run ELRS on my 13 drones and the Radiomaster Boxer radio and i have flown my quads very far and not once have i lost connection. I now have ELRS on my RC Buggies and its awesome. Forgot to mention, ELRS uses the Crossfire protocol.
Ah! Thank you! I didn't know it was related to crossfire. Will it bind to crossfire modules?
@@RoadsideRC i really don't know, i have never tried. I learned everything related elrs from joshua bardwell.
ua-cam.com/video/J3Hg2f7RL1A/v-deo.htmlsi=ZIpotXZiszYulL1S
@@RoadsideRC Hey Troy, ELRS does not work with crossfire modules. The drone guys will know this but there are several protocols the signal goes thru. In this case the remote talks to the radio module in the Crossfire protocol. The radio module then talks to the receiver in the ERLS protocol, then in a drone the receiver would talk to the flight controller in crossfire protocol but in the car receivers its just pwm signals for the servo/esc.
This is similar to Futaba is sbus2 from remote to radio, then FHSS or F4G over the air then back to sbus2 and pwm at the receiver
I would love to know the latency difference between the 4&1 model vs the ELRS. For someone that already has a ton of RC vehicles with receivers installed it seems the 4&1 would be the better choice for just regular line of sight driving as it can bind to pretty much every receiver in the industry. Then you wouldn’t need to buy all new receivers for every vehicle and if you want to do long range you always have the ability to add the nano ELRS module. The one thing I really like about the ELRS is the fact the receivers all support telemetry right away. Plus the nano ELRS module can do 1000 Mw so you would get even better long range performance with the module vs the built in version. What are people’s thoughts on the two radios.
After my experience, I actually 100% agree with you! Getting the 4in1 and adding the ELRS module is much smarter. I just made the wrong choice when initially purchasing.
I do have the 4in1 module for mine coming, so will be interested to see how it does.
Elrs is 1000hz at its finest mode, and protocols from 4in1 module are most likely less than 100hz... it's not bad. It is going to be, at least the same latency, as with your previous radio, with the same receiver. I fly fpv, and there is a redpine protocol included in the 4in1 module, and it's very fast also. 4in1 and a cheap elrs(or diy) module, for me is the best way too :) There's also a gemini elrs module..and its simply brilliant, paired with a diversity receiver, range and consistency are going to be extremely good.
@@RoadsideRC I think I’m going to order the 4&1 to keep it as simple and streamlined as possible. If I didn’t need 10 ELRS receivers I would definitely go with the ELRS version from the start. I hope they come out with a regular receiver that supports telemetry as I think it would be useful with my boats.
Came to surface RC from qwadcopters, been using expressLRS for three years and it is awesome. OpenTX development branch hasn't had many updates in a long ol' time, most of us have flashed EdgeTX to our tx's, offers some big benefits and will flash to that there radio master. Have fun😁 honestly when I came to surface I couldn't understand why no one had built and OpenTX/edgeTX transmitter 😂
You were just ahead of the curve!
@@RoadsideRC 🤣there were people way before me, way before you could buy a circuit board, people were home building themselves RX's from components and schematics on the elrs GitHub. Great system though
Definitely getting one with elrs for driving to the shops with my 2.5w fpv. 😂
That would work! Good luck.
Just a correction, trainer mode will allow you to give a student a second transmitter and and the instructor can flip a switch to give the student control and flip the switch back to take back control. Also called “buddy boxing”, and commonly used when teaching how to fly RC aircraft.
AH! You are 100% right. I read it in the manual, and then absolutely blew it when filming and editing! DOH!
Turns out - I'm only human. :) Thanks for the correction!
Or even better - on EdgeTx you can program trainer in way that you re-gain control even by moving your controls - no need to flip or holding the switch like on older radios ;-)
9:17 you can set separate left and right endpoints for steering on this transmitter?
Sorry for the delay on the answer here.
Check out the RadiomasterRC official UA-cam channel. They out out a video going through this step-by-step.
The only thing thats missing now would be a latency test. I have heard that the ELRS system has about 4-5ms of latency, which would be less than a Sanwa running in SHR mode.
Any idea how to test that?
@@RoadsideRC I think the best way to do so would be to record using a phone that has a slow motion capture, turning the wheel and then letting it go, counting the frames between letting go and the servo starting to move. Otherwise you would likely need special equipment.
I have found a video where someone tested the ELRS system with a tool and found it to have about 2,5-5ms of latency in F1000hz for transmission and 400hz for PWM. Thats about as fast as a Sanwa MTS running in SHR mode.
With upcoming firmwares we might even be able to use SSR mode servos; Futabas SBUS servos already seem to be supported and should have even lower latencies.
ELRS has adjustable latency, in 1000Hz Mode the latency should be 2-3ms
Do their receivers have gyros in them ? Wonder how well the “traction control” works compared to other brands like Spektrum AVC.
The receivers do not have gyros in them, and I did not see anything about traction control. FYI - the Spektrum AVC is also not a traction control function. It is just a heading-controlled gyro.
Very impressive
I really think it is!
hey roadside rc,i‘ve just viewed a video about this radio and i guess you can bind this with lot of different receivers from other brands!
Yes! That is true if you have the 4in1 model. This is the ELRS model.
Great video, I have the Radio Master TX16S that I'm using for my Team Associated Rival MT10 because the stock radio system died. I of course prefer to use a pistol radio for land and the TX16S I use for my planes, drones, and helicopters. Radio Master definitely has countless abilities and I'm planning on picking up the MT12 very soon. One question I have is being they are both Edge TX do you think it would be possible to take the settings from the MT10 Model on my TX16S and import them to the MT12? It took for ever to set up the MT10 due to the TX16S being primarily for aircraft. I figure probably not but can't hurt to throw it out there. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated and Thanks in advance for your time and support on this matter. Worse case, I'll find my way around the MT12 and figure it out!
Hi there!
Great question. I am not sure *how a person would do what you are saying, but assume that it is possible. The EdgeTX interface is VERY similar to that we have on our Air radios, so the settings may transfer over.
Good luck!
@@RoadsideRC Thanks, I'll order through your link.
@@BobbyCaron Thank you!
At 4:24, it shows the throttle is adjustable. Do you have a video for that specifically? I searched and didn't find one. Not new to Edge TX or RadioMaster. This is my first surface radio. Basically, I want reverse on a switch. Speed on a curve: crawl - Medium speed. This is for the kids to learn so I don't want 100% max speed.
I want the rigger to be just speed control, not fwd/rev. I've got to figure out how to do that with the mixer.
That is an interesting quandry!
Perhaps you can set custom throttle curves - but have the reverse flat. That would eliminate reverse.
Then use mix to reverse the throttle channel by a switch.
Not 100% sure it will work, but might.
Using the throttle curve, you could also still allow the kids to have a normal reverse, but do so at a greatly reduced power.
Can I change a trim setting into a switch. For instance to control the diffs on my trx4. Thank you
I think so! I have not personally tried yet.
Curious what distance you will get with the redcat stock receiver. Radiomaster should connect with the redcat receiver
Yes it should! Good question!
@@RoadsideRC love to see you set it up and see the difference between range. Looking forward to seeing the video.
I was literally looking at this remote yesterday
It looks like it could be a game changer in the surface market!
@RoadsideRC I am extremely excited, I am building a snow blower for my rc truck and needed a remote, a buddy of mine told me to look into the MT12. I agree with you this is huge!
Crap, another crazy thought... 1/5 Scale FPV RC Rally racing? This controller opens up so many opportunities to make really crazy ideas affordable to create and control
YES! My friend and I were just talking about how this would help with that!!!!
Welcome to elrs. What setting was your tx power set at?
I had it at the 250mw. Seems the max it will allow, unless there is another setting I missed.
@@RoadsideRC The other major setting for distance is the packet rate. The lower the packet rate the farther you can go, but the higher the packet rate the lower latency you get, so it's a trade off. Looks like you had yours set at 250hz. I normally keep mine at 150hz when flying.
@@RoadsideRCyeah that's the max. You can get 1 and 2w external modules though.
@@Raven187FPV Yes! Looking at the specs, it seems like getting the 4in1 internal, then adding the ELRS external is the smartest way to go.
is this going to brake in to the market of racers like David Ronnefalk that start using a fly sky noble NB4-pro instead of the norm of futaba and sanwa.
Maybe! Time will tell!
Impressive.
They are making a decent splash in fixed wing too
Interesting!!
Seems they do have the tech to do it!
@@RoadsideRC yes they are doing multi protocol stuff that is supposed to be decent and reasonable pricing. No personal experience here just what I've heard
Right outside of my work i have a straight road for miles, my mt12 is coming tomorrow so i think i gotta test it
Nice! I will be curious what range you get!
Looks interesting
It really is!
Oh by the way, elrs uses LQ and RSSI for warnings and you need to configure both to get it accurate. Also elrs always uses aux 1 to "arm" it's reserved for this function which is why you had to set up throttle on a different channel
Thanks for the tip!
@@RoadsideRC thank you for the lovely content. Flashing bind using a binding phrase over WiFi is far easier too btw (sorry forgot that one)
What's the difference between elrs vs the 4in1 I need it for a surface transmitter
Hello!
The 4-in-1 connects to MANY different receivers (Flysky, DumboRC, Spektrum, Traxxas, etc).
The ELRS pushes the latency even lower and provides even longer range.
For 99% of the surface folks, the 4in1 is a better choice.
I have heard that you can connect the MT12 to a PC and use it as a controller for games. Have you tried that?
I have not tried, but 100% believe it. I think it shows how in the manual.
Does it bind to spektrum surface rx like a 3100
Supposedly it does! I have not tried yet.
I want to build a fpv rc car. Have the cars. Mt12 on the way. What else would I need?
This is how I did it:
ua-cam.com/video/Ao5YxYNu0wU/v-deo.html
The channels being swapped kinda makes sense as planes use channel 1 to give power and radio master mainly focuses on planes an drones
Agree! It certainly caught me off guard, and probably something I will go into the system and "fix" to ensure I don't screw it up on other surface vehicles.
nice nice nice and it can connect to the pc with Bluetooth as joystick and WIFI for update and customize it too and if you have an external expresslrs module you are looking way way more range off i use there tx16s for my drone and oouf its so cool
Yes! It has a lot of potential!
@@RoadsideRCone more thing no one talking about is the throttle and steering is Hall effect sensor not potentiometer that means it will not wear out no matter how much it’s used that’s neat
I'm late to the game but I just placed my order. I'm hoping to see some follow up videos on this radio.
There is already one more out there. Expect more to come!
@@RoadsideRC awesome. You do an exceptional job at explaining things.
@@manchildrc Thank you.
Not sure if you remember the Nomadio that started getting legs in the 2k's, but they were a military contractor and when we went to war with Afghanistan and Iraq, they were forced to pull out of commercial, That radio had a silmilar layout for servo reversing as well as ch1 and ch2 swap as well. I miss that radio, this might be a new coming of a radio not in the mainstream
Interesting!
I really hope the wheels were all off the ground for that range test 😂
Not sure what kind of drones you be flying, but hobby grade 4" 5" 7" can go much much much further than that ( 12:24 ). With that said, this radio is a must for any surface rc hobbyist that has many kinds of rcs!
Agree! We have ELRS on a 5" - range is really good.
That's .6 miles on the internal 250mW ELRS module. You can purchase the 4 in 1 and continue using all of your legacy receivers on this radio, and add an external ELRS module with 1 full watt for an additional $40.
Yes! Now that I have tested this, I agree 100% with you.
This is the multi one? Or the LRS
This is the ELRS, but depending on your goals, the 4-in-1 is a smarter buy.
That remote control is cool but what is that white dodge challenger in the background???

Would be very interested in a demonstration of the low latency. And if a software update could add proper communication with a gyd 550 that would be amazing.
Agree 100%
Not sure how to show the latency. It is usually measured in milliseconds.
If someone can make the GYD550 interface...and it be included in a $130 radio...that would be GAME CHANGING.
@@RoadsideRC i saw a video of latency where the guy was filming the transmitter wheel and the servo simultaneously, to see the speed he put the video on slow motion and compared with the video of other transmitter on the same car. It showed the latency of Futaba and other radios, very useful.
@RoadsideRC when I switched from flysky to futaba the super slowmo camera on my phone was enough to see the difference in input delay. I just filmed both the front wheels and the steering wheel at the same time and wiggled the steering back and forth.
Youll never see it. Flysky teased different protocol support over 2 years ago for the NB4 pro version only. That was 3 firmwares ago. Id assume futaba/sanwa proprietery programming protocols arent easily interacted with. If anyone will do it, its flysky as it benefits them the most by having cheap and readily available recievers directly on amazon. I keep my 4pm plus for gyd550 programming, i move the r334sbs reciever to the car to dial my gyro, and then plug back in the flysky reciever and go back to ch3 gain only on the 550 after my adjustments are made. When your up to 10 drift chassis, thats 1200 dollars in recievers, its less than 300 on flysky with the same response time as futaba.@@RoadsideRC
@@alexcherewyk4412 Good tip! Maybe I will try it!
It is about time thr rc land world gets that nice newish fpv tech
That telemetry lost thing is a setting. My Zorro quad remote dies the same thing. It's a edge TX setting
Thanks for the tip!
Hi I just received my radio I would like to know if it works with my fms trucks please let me know I've been trying to get help with this I would really appreciate it
I don't know if it works with your FMS truck. Why don't you try and see since you have it right there?
Curious on the drift part 👀
Also troy do we know if they have waterproof recievers ? Those would be perfect for crawling if they do 🤔
I use conformal coating on my receivers to waterproof
Drift part is upcoming!
For the waterproof question - it does not discretely say they are waterproof, so I assume not. As Anthony said, my go-to is to conformal coat receivers anyway. I don't trust the factory waterproofing. :)
@@anthonyjohnson3690 true 🤔 i just hate opening them up they rarely go back together the same 😅
@@NFEzantiszar yes that's what super glue is for hahaha joking
@@anthonyjohnson3690 lol ron would agree with ya there 😂
👍🏼
Can you please test it to your rwd rc drift car. ?
I really want to see how it works on rwd rc drift.
I want to buy one.
Here you go:

@@RoadsideRC thank you so much.
everytime i want an info about Rwd rc drift i always check your channel.
i forgot to check first. Hehe
1:45 There is a guy named Wezley Varty who took ELRS to 100km with a plane(that's 62 miles). He had to take the video down after the Australian air administration(CASA) busted him on it, but I hear you can still find the video out there if you look hard enough.
Wow!!!!
hi i have the LB how to put on fcc ? the radiomaster12
I am sorry. I do not understand your question.
ok i have radiomaster 12 so my is the LB model how to swich to the fcc ?
Should be pretty good for crawling and switching sevos
Yes! Should be great for that!
Looks like a nice radio, for when you need something more than a dumbo RC
It may be even better than that. It may go toe-to-toe with Futaba, Spektrum, Sanwa!
Mustve been an NDA, ive seen this all over today. This seems ok, im not sure id give up a futaba, sanwa, or even a Noble for drifting.
Radio was released last week sometime. I guess it is just now getting out.
I plan to set it up with my drift car jet for a test. There is a chance it would be great for most people, at a fraction of the cost of a Futaba, etc.
Definitely stick with futaba or sanwa....im not sure the ground crowd is ready for the speed of advancement and flexibility of elrs and edge tx.
Does it work well with gyros? How fast is it, radio to car? My 2 questions about it so far.
Great! I plan to put this on my drift car for testing. Should help answer those questions!
The menu’s will take a while to get use to , unless your coming from drones! Lol
Latency is about 3ms. I have a demo video on my channel if interested.
Elrs can do up to 1000hz. Crazy fast.
Latency test is up at ua-cam.com/video/QYxj2KP2ANI/v-deo.htmlsi=KmPwz9iW6l5bfUUN
Are they going to have a US distributor? $30+ for shipping is kinda steep.
You can purchase it on Amazon already.
@@RoadsideRC Awesome. Thanks again for the great content.
Try the FPV suppliers. Race day quads, get FPV, pyrodrone
Waiting for test with rwd drift car !!!!
I'm on it!
not sure if you are on the higher power it starts at 25 and goes to 250 check that out
Yes!
I think a FPV run needs to happen for a distance run 😁
It will now - or otherwise you won't be able to see where the car is at this distance!
Oh brother wait till you learn what EdgeTX can do. You can set channel one to be any input you like. So you can set turn on 1 in about a second. Each ELRS tx and rx has a built in wifi chip. Most people running ELRS build the firmware for their rx, it has the option to set a binding passphrase( think wifi password) that gets built into your firmware. So when you get a new rx that you have built the firmware for you simply flash the rx over wifi, a cell phone works great and now that rx will bind the moment it sees your receiver. On the computer side you can backup and reconfigure the radio. So even if you hit the limit of cars for the radio. You can have as many cars as you want just load back the configs for the cars you are driving. Even better is if you run the same config for two different models you can just use one saved slot. A bunch of the drone guys setup one basic config and run it on multiple drones. Using the 'model' for different configs not different models. The rabbit hole goes really deep here.
The binding passports really is something I should figure out!
Im trying to see if this radio has throttle exponential does any body know?
It has literally everything you could imagine. Edge tx can do anything you can think of. Your brain is the only hold up. Ground edge tx and elrs is a game changer ground vehicles.
It has the curve-setting area. I will mess with that specifically when I set this up on my drift car to see if I can figure it out.
There are multiple settings that allow you to manipulate the input and output values. You can create and save custom curves or use preset exponential functions.
Tele on elrs is only like 10 or 25mw or something. Thats why it gave up first.
So mt12 vs a noble nb4?
GREAT question.
What application will you use it for?
@@RoadsideRC probably everything but bashing. Drift, carpet race, and crawling. The noble size is appealing. Figured since you had both a budget head to head might be appropriate. 😁
@@arthopfer Yes! I know the Noble is good for those. I will test this controller soon with my drift car. Assuming it works there, it may be a tough choice!
