I'm not defending her, but this is pretty standard. Cosmetic products cost next to nothing to actually manufacture whether its Elf or Dior. That 96c does not include the research and development, design or marketing costs. There is a lot more cost involved in an end product than just the manufacturing price so this is just fake outrage tbh.

It's when you hear they filed chapter 9 that you know they're not doing well. A lot of products, especially makeup, is cheap to make. That’s not really new or a shocker. Even Jeffree talked about it in his series with Shane Dawson. It’s called margins. Company’s always price their products higher than what it costs to make…that’s how they make money

A “small business” would probably not be able to get the costs that low. I think Morphe ordered it for them bc they already have an existing partnership with the lab. That being said, it should be a 10 dollar lipstick at most.
It’s actually quite common for a company to pay for another company to get off the ground and be paid back by that new company without them being a parent company. So morphe could have paid for everything and “sold” everything to JH. Morphe may have had a better customer relationship with oxygen and would have gotten a better deal on pricing than if JH went by herself. At least this happens in the automotive industry, idk

It’s almost more like my company is giving this new company a loan but as they need it? I’m not entirely sure the logistics of it all lol. And it could’ve happened that way, but then the lipsticks bombed and JH needed a partner and went under Forma or whatever it is. So she might’ve not technically lied when she said she was owner and CEO because she very well could have been, in that moment. No one will actually know unless they talk about.

Jen Luv compared order dates and basically concluded that this batch of lipsticks would’ve been shipped and delivered about a week before launch, meaning it couldn’t have been the PR batch. So I think they most likely ordered these lipsticks thinking they were gonna sell out, but then when they had to refund everybody they just didn’t bother to finish paying the lab.

I was scammed once like this. The original price of something I want to creat is only cost 2$ from a factory for sample ( the can't run machines for one sample) . And the whole sale price (over 200 amount) cost only 1.5$ . I'm creator and din't know nothing about those factories, someone came to me and said like she owns the factory. She asked me 15$ (10× of original price) . And I have to sell those for 18$ since I need to pack them. When my products arrive, damn the worst quality I've ever seen. To clarify she didn't invest or have to work anything !!!!.She just need to place order and it's easier than amazon purchase. I'm the one who have to invest, creat and put all of effort just to get 50 cents- 1$ . And she is lying between me and the factory when I complain about damage. The factory is mad at me ( we didn't talk directly, she didn't let me talk with the factory, she only admit that she is not owner nor relative of the owner only after I complain ) . Factory think I'm wanting good quality for 1.5$ worth product ( she lied to factory that I only gave 1.5$ , may be to get some discount as promoter) . A lot of products, especially makeup, is cheap to make. That’s not really new or a shocker. Even Jeffree talked about it in his series with Shane Dawson. It’s called margins. Company’s always price their products higher than what it costs to make…that’s how they make money

A “small business” would probably not be able to get the costs that low. I think Morphe ordered it for them bc they already have an existing partnership with the lab. That being said, it should be a 10 dollar lipstick at most.
It’s actually quite common for a company to pay for another company to get off the ground and be paid back by that new company without them being a parent company. So morphe could have paid for everything and “sold” everything to JH. Morphe may have had a better customer relationship with oxygen and would have gotten a better deal on pricing than if JH went by herself.

@@ellasledge8785 I work for a company that is “sponsoring” another company to get started but my company isn’t the owner of that new company. They have no say in what the new company does. It’s almost more like my company is giving this new company a loan but as they need it? I’m not entirely sure the logistics of it all lol. And it could’ve happened that way, but then the lipsticks bombed and JH needed a partner and went under Forma or whatever it is. So she might’ve not technically lied when she said she was owner and CEO because she very well could have been, in that moment. No one will actually know unless they talk about.

It is interesting though because the lipstick orders say “extended order” which makes me think is that what they were ordering after the initial order, anticipating they were going to sell out. No way did they only buy 2,000 lipsticks of each shade. Or was that the PR batch.

Jen Luv compared order dates and basically concluded that this batch of lipsticks would’ve been shipped and delivered about a week before launch, meaning it couldn’t have been the PR batch. So I think they most likely ordered these lipsticks thinking they were gonna sell out, but then when they had to refund everybody they just didn’t bother to finish paying the lab.

If y'all are this mad about the markup for the lipsticks, you're really gonna be mad when you find out about pharmaceutical markups. It literally costs them nothing to make medications but the markup is often 1000% or more. I remember one company was making a COVID treatment, it cost them $10 to make it but they were trying to charge people $5k out of pocket and $1k with certain insurance companies

I was scammed once like this.
The original price of something I want to creat is only cost 2$ from a factory for sample ( the can't run machines for one sample) . And the whole sale price (over 200 amount) cost only 1.5$ . I'm creator and din't know nothing about those factories, someone came to me and said like she owns the factory. She asked me 15$ (10× of original price) . And I have to sell those for 18$ since I need to pack them. When my products arrive, damn the worst quality I've ever seen. To clarify she didn't invest or have to work anything !!!!.She just need to place order and it's easier than amazon purchase.
I'm the one who have to invest, creat and put all of effort just to get 50 cents- 1$ .
And she is lying between me and the factory when I complain about damage. The factory is mad at me ( we didn't talk directly, she didn't let me talk with the factory, she only admit that she is not owner nor relative of the owner only after I complain ) . Factory think I'm wanting good quality for 1.5$ worth product ( she lied to factory that I only gave 1.5$ , may be to get some discount as promoter) .
