I got a bundle of old games for the hell of it not long ago and have been playing some Madden 15 to see the differences in the current product. I can safely say blocking has been an animation issue then and still persists now and it’s ridiculous that it’s been literally 10 years and there’s no signs of improvement whatsoever
All these years & EA still can't get Physics or Collision Detection right smh. Clipping in this game is atrocious yet again! Kills all immersion! Can't even bring myself to play it!

Every player on the field has no idea any other player is on that field until an animation triggers and tells that player that there's another person on the field and where they are and what to do now. They remain oblivious to any other players. The only thing simulated in this game is a football sim.

They really need post-block animations and logic for lineman. It looks so bad when a lineman loses a block then just stands or looks at you, or is in the way not doing anything
This is the reason why in cfb 25 and madden 25 I made a improviser qb because you really only have 1 maybe 2 reads then you have to try to run for your life without using the speed button because that make the d line disengage quicker smh
"500 new animations" means absolutely nothing when you don't have branching path for those animations for different scenarios. A halfback shouldn't be getting pushed while still in a running animation because the game has no transition from running to blocking to shoved. This is BASIC game animation work.
this so called 500 new animations is not actually 500 brand new never before seen animations. they actually record around 20 new animations and depending on the circunstances each can do 20 more diferent scenarios and each of those can do more 30 or so scenarios so multipling those numers they get to 500. they dont record 500 new animations, they record like 5 days worth. and work months on those 5 days or 20 to 30 new animations to get to that 500 number.

As someone in the business calling for firing of ground lvl code monkeys is a bit harsh. They're only making 30k or less a year and having to find work 3 to 4 times a year. All the decisions are made by suits. I heard they only hire for 6 weeks of work.
I definitely think it's time for EA to clean house or for someone to do it for them. This is the type of performance that would get you fired in most corporate jobs. I've seen it myself first hand.
EA pays the NFL for exclusive licensing rights. That's just a free money in the nfl's eyes. EA is probably paying the nfl 10x times the amount another game company would pay for licensing rights to make a game alongside Madden. They know it's not their product that people want, it's what their product represents. People just want to play football games that replicate what they enjoy watching on TV. No one cares who actually makes the product. If Ubisoft had exclusive licensing rights sales would be the same, the brokenness and lack of depth games would be the same and people would still complain that we need more than 1 company making simulation football games because we do. That's the only this type of game will improve is through competitive development.
For PC Players: M25 is a massive upgrade from M24 and M23, with the former being practically unplayable with button delay and extremely poor porting (the entire game is basically being processed by your CPU while the GPU remains untapped) On the other hand, all the points you made are valid and still present. I've only played 2 games so far and noticed several inconsistencies, bad-block coding, strange physics/collision detection. Notably, the new kickoff system seems pretty flawed in the game, there really is no winning for the kicking team beside hoping to put it on the 1 with a deep kick, otherwise it seems the receiving team is guaranteed 25-35 yard start- in addition to the kickoffs, squibs are really in a bad spot, where outside defenders will continue to run straight for at least 15 yards or so- causing them to miss tackles they would have otherwise been able to close up the field on.
It’s honestly kinda funny how people call Madden 25 a CFB 25 Reskin when the whole plan all along was to make very similar games even made by the same dev team 💀. Both games are a waste of space.

You can tell the reason the pursuit angles suck is the AI just pushes the players to run directly at the runner, which is why you get those pile ups as all of the players are coded to just go after the player with the ball and not even look at their surroundings. The coding is a joke and it is obvious the AI is not nearly as complicated EA would like you to believe.
Pursuit angles make no sense in cfb25 Guys will just run right by you they want to chase you instead of making a proper tackle. I could have Malachi starks or even a random bum from southern Mississippi and they'll do the same bullshit
You get better actual football action out of those old school, electric, table top football games. The ones where the guys were on little stands and the field table would vibrate to make the players move. There were selectors on the stands of the players so you could dictate which way they were supposed to move.
The one thing I hate about madden games is half the pass plays you’re dropping back 15 yards to pass. The pocket doesn’t matter at all and is non existent after 1 second so the normal and most effective way to pass is dropping back like 20 yards to compete a 5-10 yard pass. Would feel so much more realistic if they changed that and made it somewhat difficult
EA tells u they will be doing this or that or add in this or that....... to get u to buy the game and then when half the stuff doesnt work, they can fall back on patches, but they already got your money...... no i know ive made alot of comments were i was defending madden to, cause i wont lie i did see alot of nice cool things to that made most of my games fun, and i want a good game, but yaaa idk... the college game has issues to at times but it feels like its been playing better, I do wish we could see what another company would do...
Offensive line blocking in this game has sucked for years. It's always just a bunch of guys being sucked into a giant confusing mass of humanity. Running plays for the most part have to be run to the outside in order to work. Holes most times tend to close within fractions of a second and when you run to the inside you wind up running into your own guy a very high percentage of the time. What's even worse is when you're supposed to have a fullback blocking for you to spring open a run and once the play initiates your FB immediately runs off somewhere else leaving you to run on your own rather than running with you.
Here are my annual grades for the last few installments 20 was passable. 21 through 24 were almost unplayable. 25 (current gen) is satisfactory, but old gen is also unplayable.

EA gave me 10 hours, like many others. I was REALLY tempted to buy it, as it’s my first Madden I’ve been tempted to buy since Madden 06. Staying strong though, refusing to give EA my money until the NFL opens up the competition to other teams to create better football products.

The O-Line is OBLIVIOUS. They don't double when the need to, get stuck on another animation, and terrible schemes. The HB counter doesn't work correctly.
How are u an nfl offensive lineman and cant fix blocking! I have had games where my offensive lineman blocking nothing, just lets the dude run by and kill my qb, games where i finish with 8+ sacks 2 ints and both of them from getting hit when i throw. This shit is so sad
I’ve been playing the free trial because why not, I have constant freezes and game breaking bugs in superstar mode to the point of basically being unplayable.
I started a Franchise. I played the first game, Ravens @ Chiefs. I was the Ravens. After 3 Qrts I couldn’t fucking take it anymore. Chiefs had 46 Offensive Plays, 41 passes and only 5 Runs, 2 of which were Mahomes running to get away from pressure. So there were only 3 fucking handoffs. The Chiefs average almost 40% Run plays per game. What morons does EA have working on this game. I’m 65 yrs old and have purchased every Madden game that has ever come out, and I figured I’d try it one last time, and this will be the last time I buy it.
Can you play every game during a season or is it that stupid sim engine where you can’t play any other games in the week without having to simulate them.

Don't worry, bud. That day 1 patch where they fix nothing and use market speak to explain their patches (enhanced dynamic gameplay) is going to fix everything like it always does for these games.
You can tell the reason the pursuit angles suck is the AI just pushes the players to run directly at the runner, which is why you get those pile ups as all of the players are coded to just go after the player with the ball and not even look at their surroundings. The coding is a joke and it is obvious the AI is not nearly as complicated EA would like you to believe.
Facts, The pursuit angles are HORRIBLE in CFB25… Players literally running past the play to block air while the LB/DE smacks your QB/RB

You get better actual football action out of those old school, electric, table top football games. The ones where the guys were on little stands and the field table would vibrate to make the players move. There were selectors on the stands of the players so you could dictate which way they were supposed to move.
My QB was injured for the season but the cut scenes and announcers kept announcing him and showing him running out on the field.
The one thing I hate about madden games is half the pass plays you’re dropping back 15 yards to pass. The pocket doesn’t matter at all and is non existent after 1 second so the normal and most effective way to pass is dropping back like 20 yards to compete a 5-10 yard pass. Would feel so much more realistic if they changed that and made it somewhat difficult

EA tells u they will be doing this or that or add in this or that....... to get u to buy the game and then when half the stuff doesnt work, they can fall back on patches, but they already got your money...... no i know ive made alot of comments were i was defending madden to, cause i wont lie i did see alot of nice cool things to that made most of my games fun, and i want a good game, but yaaa idk... the college game has issues to at times but it feels like its been playing better, I do wish we could see what another company would do...

Offensive line blocking in this game has sucked for years. It's always just a bunch of guys being sucked into a giant confusing mass of humanity. Running plays for the most part have to be run to the outside in order to work. Holes most times tend to close within fractions of a second and when you run to the inside you wind up running into your own guy a very high percentage of the time. What's even worse is when you're supposed to have a fullback blocking for you to spring open a run and once the play initiates your FB immediately runs off somewhere else leaving you to run on your own rather than running with you.
Does anyone know if it has the crappy sim engine where you can’t play every teams game during the regular season? Hate how they changed it years ago.

I was REALLY tempted to buy it, as it’s my first Madden I’ve been tempted to buy since Madden 06.
Staying strong though, refusing to give EA my money until the NFL opens up the competition to other teams to create better football products.
As someone who was blindly putting faith for college football 25, I said to my self maximum footballs done for, now I’m looking back to them for a new game.
It's not perfect but it's a fun arcade style football game 😎

If the nfl take the rights away, 2k makes a nfl football game forcing Madden to do better. If ea has to compete in madden they’ll look to make an nba game to counter losses forcing 2k to make their nba game better. It’s all starts with the nfl ! I’m glad players like MHJ are starting to realize they are their own brand and need proper representation for their name. MHJ should make a public statement with his lawyer about EAs depictions of him in madden 25

I'm not mad at EA developers for College Football 25 , they gotta handed the tools Madden has and was as innovative as they possibly could be....
But Madden has no excuses... I literally will like playing Madden still cause 24 satisfied me and lack of passing trajectorywas my main issue abd there's no other NFL game... Slthough I don't expect sports video games to be perfect , its 2024 Madden should be way more advanced by now .. I can't believe no NFL game compares to NFL 2K5 yet , its been 20 years 😩

The O-Line is OBLIVIOUS. They don't double when the need to, get stuck on another animation, and terrible schemes. The HB counter doesn't work correctly.
How are u an nfl offensive lineman and cant fix blocking! I have had games where my offensive lineman blocking nothing, just lets the dude run by and kill my qb, games where i finish with 8+ sacks 2 ints and both of them from getting hit when i throw. This shit is so sad
If EA had any sense, they'd hire someone like Ryan to QA this game before it's ever released.

I’ve been playing the free trial because why not, I have constant freezes and game breaking bugs in superstar mode to the point of basically being unplayable.
Feels like running in quicksand. They gotta patch up the speed and tackling. The tackling is sooo clunky though online

I started a Franchise. I played the first game, Ravens @ Chiefs. I was the Ravens. After 3 Qrts I couldn’t fucking take it anymore. Chiefs had 46 Offensive Plays, 41 passes and only 5 Runs, 2 of which were Mahomes running to get away from pressure. So there were only 3 fucking handoffs. The Chiefs average almost 40% Run plays per game. What morons does EA have working on this game. I’m 65 yrs old and have purchased every Madden game that has ever come out, and I figured I’d try it one last time, and this will be the last time I buy it.
Can you play every game during a season or is it that stupid sim engine where you can’t play any other games in the week without having to simulate them.
@@mikes7446 You can play any game on the schedule, providing you setup your Franchise, controlling all 32 teams. It doesn’t take long to do it.
