Glad it bought some memories back for you I love driving these classics I was born in dec ‘62 and would have loved to have been able to enjoy them back then 👌👌
One of my friends had one of these in the 70s, bought it to my house for some repairs. New master cylinder, wheel cylinders shoes etc etc. After i had replaced it all bled the system got a firm pedal I took it out for a test. Omg the first corner I came too I braked, pressed a little harder then panicked using full leg and arm strength on steering wheel to get around the corner. Wasn't going that fast but what an experience. I should add at this time I was driving my 1275 gt Austin ado with very powerful servo brakes. I called my mate Phil he took car for test drive after i had explained my experience. He came back telling me brakes are much improved. 😂😅😢. Moral of the tail is don't assume any car will drive or brake like your own. Enjoying the vlogs 😊
Exactly you get used to your own braking !! Once I get the car up here itl be out again in between work and nice weather, il or we’l me and my partner and or my brother will do more thanks for watching anyway it was a bit random that one whilst I was at the garage that day 👍👍😊😊
What a beautiful classic you have there. Love the camera work and excellent audio. That engine bay looked so simple to work on compared to a modern car.
Ahh thanks for that 🙌 very easy to work on A30/35 A Series engine’s fun little car to drive when I get chance we just need the ☀️ to do what we enjoy doing ……… Have a great week Phil
and when Morris chucked out the side-valve engine from the Morris Minor it was an austin engine that went in - they were both in the ill fated British Motor Corporation ( BMC) by then. Virtually that same engine turned up again in the 1959 Mini.
Not bad with the 948cc engine tbh it’s like the midget I had, really, breaking is good with the front discs and oh yeah this has the bigger radiator so itl cope with hot weather and sitting in traffic, tho as I said in the video it’s not been far yet with me but it has by the previous owner😊 Additives yes it’s a good idea tho I haven’t used any yet and I didn’t with my midget mk1 just use E5 fuel ⛽️
Hi Nik 948cc personally 803 a tad sluggish A35 has a bigger rear window with indicators and starts at 948 engine size But I bought this one as stated because it had the upgrade And I may fit the indicators, I have them just have to fit them I’ve got the wiring in place .. just having time with work Good luck and enjoy looking This is due to arrive home hopefully at the end of July 😊😊 Phil
How could cars be so simple, so under powered and yet so full of charm back then?
Exactly they are so charming 😍
and food rationing had left us slim enough to fit very nicely into smaller cars!
Beautiful car. And sooo many memories of my Courting Days!!!

Oh sorry I would say a 4 door but it’s all a personal choice
Thanks for watching 😊😊
How does she cope with the modern ethanolic fuel? Do you use additives? 👍🏻

I'm thinking of buying an A30 / A35... Which engine would you suggest. The 800 or the larger and also, 2 or 4 door?
Lovely video, really enjoyed.
