I used to go to Harrison Mills school in the 60s. It was a 2 story 2 room school. with a big yard. Sadly they tore it down about a decade or more ago. It was about a km up the road of Kilbys museum. At that time it was still a store.

Some friends and I were trying to get to Port Douglas. Came in from the Pemberton/ Lilloet side to the top of Harrison Lake. Never did make it to Port Douglas, as there had been a slide and the road was blocked by boulders the size of a house! So we camped out on Lilloet Lake, lots of fish, kinda small but a nice breakfast. Lilloet River is insane, like a flume running to Harrison Lake straight and fast, sure wouldn't want to get caught in that current!!

I took the family out to Kilby for the day and it was great! Lots of sun, great snacks, lots of very cute/friendly animals, great historical stuff to enjoy, a nice (but very windy!) beach and best of all, Great people!
Highly recommended as a day trip !

I really love the Kilby Store. Such an incredible place. The homemade pie in the restaurant is worth the trip alone. The store itself is so amazing. Lots to see.

Great video. Brought back lots of memories of the best years of my life. I remember so well bagging up those white and blue soaps - and not fondly. I think I must have been alergic to them.

I haven't been to that area yet, so I'm gonna pack up the family and head out there, maybe even this Saturday!
    Thanks for the great video!!!

Yet another awesome and informative video. I always look forward to these and learn a lot. I also must confess I enjoy the quality of your videos. I so much want to do the same kinds of things here in North Idaho but everyplace now (Mid-May) of interest is still under snow. We have 2 seasons here, Winter and August 2-21st!

my older sibling did too for me it was the 80s and the 70s. Went to the old two room school and we went to the Kilby store when it still was a general store open for business.

I stopped by last month at the start of a road trip. Really interesting place I plan to come back to. Did you find out any more about the bootlegging that may have gone on during prohibition times?
