- So my defender stopped starting, go figure huh.
In this video I pull the injectors out and have a look at the sealing rings. Turns out they were alright, but I changed them anyway.

I’ve always been a big supporter from the E30 days, through to extensive travel and van build, it’s nice to see something new which is always inspiring. I remember me waving like some school girl when you was driving that hilarious sangsongthing back from Poland through the port and the whole mob is hanging out the side waving back. Keep up the good work.
Thanks man. I appreciate the kind words it means a lot. And that ssangyong was literally the worst thing ha
Nice stuff here! This channel will grow more than you think!!
I enjoyed it Steven, I prefer YT as its easy to miss stuff on instagram. Looking forward to more of your content!
Bryn Davies thanks Bryn appreciate the support.
Your Land Rover repair videos are a lifesaver! I've been grappling with a persistent issue on my TD5 involving excessive black smoke and noticeable power loss. Your expertise in troubleshooting and fixing Land Rovers has been evident in your content, so I was wondering if you could shed some light on this particular issue. Your insights could not only help me but also countless others facing similar challenges. Looking forward to your thoughts on this!
Keep them coming. Good content
Good video. This and the torque settings in the Haynes manual make me a bit more confident about giving this a go myself 👍
Im doing this repair now with no locking tool for the camshaft, no special tool for the injector puller and the cust didnt order the 1 time use only tappets and jamb nuts, rocker shaft bolts. Let the fun begin
this helped me - THANK YOU!!!
Very good content. Just came around here from your Instagram post.
It would be very nice of you if you show us more videos like this!
henning_e30 hey thanks man! Means a lot. Got a few little things planned at the moment.
Good video well done
Thanks 👍
This is a great video! I will be removing my cylinder head soon to install a new head gasket; I will obviously have to remove the injectors and may as well install new copper washers and seals. Just one thing, noticed what I thought were swan neck pliers with one arm missing used to extract the injectors?! I was told to use the Land Rover Injector Removal Slide Hammer - but this definitely costs a pretty penny for a once off use! No chance of doing any damage with the modifed swan neck pliers? Any tips?
My td5 does exactly the same thing. Did the new washer and o-ring fix the problem? Nice video very interested to know long term outcome.
Check your crank sensor too. It’s probably cracked up with gunk which doesn’t help.
Finally got round to watching your videos. Which type of O.ring and copper seals have you used? Original LR, or aftermarket? and did you use a new injector harness when you put it all back together again? - as there was no follow up video, was the problem fixed?
Hey. Theyre original land rover ones, as i found theyre a little bit thicker. And theyre so cheap anyway its not worth the toss i dont think. Original harness as it had no issue when tested. And yes, it's all alright now :)
How was the land rover the next day after doing the injectors think is doing the same
I found on a long hard way after replacing all systems the cam gear moved only about 4 mm now it starts like a new one
Hey man I got the same issue with my discovery 2 changed the pump didn’t work changed the fuel regulator and filter again nothing fixed this is the next for me to do did this help at all?
Wondering if it fixed the problem? I have the exact same simptoms...
Me too
Did it sort the issue?
Hi great fast video did you look at the air bleeder valve in the filter housing my td5 dit it had every thing changed only to find that #@!$$ valve
Yeah I’ve read a little about that valve. I’ve got one. Just havnt got around to fitting it yet haha
@@adventuredefender1772 Interested to hear how you got on? Did you find the cause of your hard starting?
My cause whas n little move on timing gear moved it back now its good as new
Hi mate.
Can you post a reply and let us all know if it worked? The suspense is killing us? Lol. A few folk with the same issue all waiting. Thanks.
Did it fix the issue? Keep making them aswell btw
How did you adjust the injectors?
adjust in what way?
You spin the tappet in all the way down until bottomed out, then back 1 full turn and torque the jamb nut
@@matthewmorrone883 That's what I've been told, and for confidence, you can turn the crank a full rotation and it should move freely and not hit any obstructions.
Well I wrench for Jaguar, Land Rover/Range Rover and these are the specs found on Topix.
But it did work or not 🤔
