I had no problem installing it on a DS1823xs+, or the system recognizing it, but it shows up as 1000 Mbps. Is that normal?

It should definitely show up as 10Gbps. Try to update the firmware on your synology.

Physically install a card is simple. But system did not recognize the new card is frustrating! Any software setup needed?

I had no problem with the system detecting it. Make sure you push the card in correctly, if it still doesn't show up, maybe you. have a defective card, test it in a computer.
