- Owning a Porsche 911 can be the highlight of someone's automotive life. No matter if you buy a new 992 generation Porsche 911 or if you get something like a 996, 997, 964, 993 or any of Porsche 911 generation, things may not be exactly how you imagined it. The driving experience is second to none, but in this video I go over the negative elements of Porsche 911 ownership as well as the main reason that these negatives are still worth owning a 911.

in 2025 we are just looking for a manual transmission car that is fun to drive. that means it feels great at take off, around corners, fast braking, and it sounds so good we motor with the windows open, radio off, whenever we can. And we don't take phone calls while driving...because that is not something we could do prior to 2000.

Hey RL where can I find fix guides for the 996 911????
One place is Pelican Parts. They have a number of articles for various repairs for the 996 generation of the 911. A quick Google search for the issue and often their article will pop up. You can buy some guides, but I find that in general searching and reading a few articles gets you the information you need free of charge.
Hope that helps.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
@@OurRideLife in gonna follow your lead and try the repairs myself, thanx!
seems like most of this can be solved by being friend with people that arent annoying
Very true.

It’s not always about horsepower.
Very true. Sometimes the most fun drive’s don’t have much horsepower.

I have to say this is both funny and accurate - woe be tide the Porsche owner that owns a Ferrari and a McLaren 😀never ever suggest that PDK is just as much fun as manual and most definitely never point out that similar weight Porsche 500 HP cars, on the same CUP2R compound tires, will lap at roughly the same pace in the hands of an amateur driver because physics is real. Nevever point out there is a distinction between fast cars and fast drivers to a GT3 owner. Never ask a Taycan/Tesla owner why he gets an incentive to buy an EV to combat climate change whilst he simultaneously owns a GT3 that will suck down 30L/100km gas on track 🤣 Never ever suggest a Cayman GTS is far more engaging and fun than a 911. I have to say this Porsche owners are often their own worst enemies. Did you know that Porsche had three co-founders, one was bought out - his story is interesting.
You are very correct and it feels like Porsche owners are often too worried about things that don’t really matter.

Dentist car bulllocks !!!
A number of Dentists do enjoy them, but the drive certainly isn’t boring.

The only people I know that own 911’s are an anesthesiologist and a DENTIST 🤣 - I’m neither, just a business guy, but I’m currently looking for one
What a misleading title. 👎
Thanks for the feedback. I’m going to rework it to make sure it is better in line with the content and keep this in mind going forward.

Glad I can be that. Perhaps I need to make a new T-Shirt.
