    I love the whole introduction. Very good looking watch but I’m sure I can find something similar for a bit cheaper.

      For real. I respect the watchmaker's hustle; he set a goal and worked towards it. But I ain't here to buy someone else's dreams.

    Though it will assuredly be different for all of us, there is most definitely a price that defines a line of what we will
    and will not forgive. I agree with you that this watch is harder to forgive. "$700 is expensive", amen brother.
    Thanks for the video.
    Also, a huge thanks for reviewing things you buy. I cannot express how refreshing it is to watch a video
    that doesn't start with "This video is sponsored by [insert name], but that won't change my opinion."

    • @degenerateWA
      @degenerateWA  8 місяців тому

      I appreciarte that. Watch reviewers provide a useful service of showing watches better than any online picture, but I agree, one simply cannot give a review that I care about if they didn't buy it themselves.

    Great review as always. I think your standards are justified- that’s a hefty chunk of change so the quality should go along with it. That lume was really sad looking also 😅

    I have to agree with you bro. This is an adequately meh watch. It's really nice to look at, don't get me wrong. Nice sector dial, knurled crown and functionally fun bracelet. It's just missing missing that $750 thing, ya know.

    Ok, this is what I like about your reviews! I've been eyeing a Hellcat for a minute and then some. Cool Name = sells itself. I don't own a Dodge so I wouldn't buy as a default by the name. That said, I could have purchased a few Hellcats made by Dodge if my watch addiction wasn't so unchecked 😅! Thanks for the honesty in your review

    So...I don't know where to start.....crystal ok, size ok , no drilled lugs-bad, polished sides and bezel-bad, screwes at the case back- poop, accuracy of Miyota- double poop-very bad,
    there's absolutely nothing that watch is doing any better than 15 USD analog quartz Casio, or my 50 years old mechanical Sturmanskie, and definitely there's nothing there to justify that extremely spicy price tag.
    Anyway, god job, as usually

    I have the Orion Calamity Void. It's so different from the Hellcat in this video that it's hard to believe they are from the same brand. Yes, the Calamity is twice the price but a staggering difference in quality and finish.

    • @degenerateWA
      @degenerateWA  8 місяців тому

      Not an unsubstantial pricetag on the Calamity either. Orion's pricing model is a head scratcher.

    Some of these microbrands are just plain trying to take advantage of the market, while giving us nothing special in return.
    Even JOMW’s entry into the game is just another name slapped on the same boring offerings as everyone else; no thanks. You can only have so many non-name brand watches, and I’m full-up.
    Until Helm comes out with another new model 😅

    Well... I am not sure about this one. I think that 700 bucks is a lot to ask for this. It doesn't look bad at all but at that price I would expect a bit more. Kudos for you for supporting the little guy but I dont understand a lot of the design choices. Hope you have a great day man!

      For me there's an emotional response for anything over $500. Anything north of that needs to really be a cut above the $400 and below watches. All I can say is I didn't get that organic emotional response from this one.

    Most of the watch game relies on the illusion of variety, which is particularly true in the microbrand space where there is the very real potential to end up incessantly buying the same watch, with only minor variations in dial, case shape, bracelet, etc. This ridiculous consumerist hamster wheel process is the origin point of degeneracy (yes, I speak from some experience). There are a few exceptions of course, but this piece definitely isn't one of them.

      @@degenerateWA The pandemic kicked it off for me. It made some kind of sense---in the early phase there was this ominous feeling that our time might be even more limited. Watches seemed like the perfect way to symbolically celebrate the end of the world.

    Man if you made a video about watches in film I'm guessing it would actually be degenerate. That's based on your one little comment that had me giggling my little head off. At least viewing hellcats on the Internet won't give you a disease, but I still hope you were viewing a hellcat watch rather than watching actual hellcats at play. I've been away from your channel for a while as I've been going down the rabbit hole of fundamentalist Christian channels, Satan in the music industry etc Anyway, I can now appreciate your channel with a new set of eyes. As usual you deliver the goods with this review. I don't know about value etc but I still like the look of the watch.

    • @degenerateWA
      @degenerateWA  8 місяців тому

      That's one "hell" of a rabbit hole to go down😎. Always good to see you in the comments section🍻

    • @skipinkoreaable
      @skipinkoreaable 8 місяців тому

      @degenerateWA Yeah. It's always refreshing to watch your videos and live out my imaginary watch life through you.
      The various Christianity and related channels are very interesting. The Bart Ehrman channel is a total headspin. Did Jesus claim to be God etc. That's a rabbit hole worth going down. It's genuinely interesting if you're interested in the history of various religions.
      There's another channel about esoterica where they talk about the history of magic books from an academic perspective. Whether or not any of the magic stuff is actually true, there really was a whole tradition of people who were secretly passing on magic books right throughout the middle ages and surely a lot of the people doing it were Christian clergy. That aspect of it was actually interesting. All the various witchhunts that we know of as total paranoia and crazy imagination have some basis in reality in the sense that there really was a whole lot of people around doing some kind of "magic" and some of it was definitely not wholesome in its intent. Imagine being a fundamentalist witchhunter in medieval Europe and then you come across an actual book on how to control demons or something nuts like that. I think just playing with watches makes more sense than any of this.
      As for Satanism in the music industry, I have no idea about that, but it is a recurring theme. I think I'd rather be playing with watches than go anywhere near that.
      Playing with watches even if you're doing it naked is probably not that degenerate in the grand scheme of things. Just don't eat the forbidden Apple watch.
