I loved how the season ended, despite the complete heartbreak it gave me. Thing is, had their relationship been consistently soft throughout, a confession between them wouldn't land so powerfully as it did when the kiss was done through hurt and desperation. All it means is that, if S3 happens, their reunion will be that much more powerful. Neil's trick- plummet us into the morbid earth to teach us how beautiful the sky will look afterwards.
Very accurate. Aziraphale is like Jane Austen's heroines. Romantic, virginal though feeling emotions (hence the ball in the bookstore) and very naive. Crowley is the "manly", determined, energetic. You're right, it was an act of desperation but also of great love, because he knew he was losing Aziraphale.

The ending makes sense, yes. Az was very consistently in favor of Heaven, its purpose and his own duty. My guess is in season 3 he will reconsider what Heaven truly is (as an organization that exists solely to carry out God's orders and not necessarily to do good to humankind). I hope Aziraphale finally understands that the division between angels and demons, Crowley and himself, is nothing more than a concept than can easily be blurred.
I hadn’t looked at it that way. I was so brokenhearted that didn’t occur to me. But the angst that tears everyone apart is precisely because because of their inability to admit to their feelings for each other until the end.
The shocking thing is how Aziraphale tried to convince Crowley to go to heaven, Crowley thought they were on their own side, but he broke down the moment he realized he was alone in the "US".

This was so heartbreaking like Crowley finally decided to confess and was worrying about it just to hear "let's go to the place you didnt like and left long time ago" 🤡 Anyways they both acted pretty selfish like how Aziraphale didn't care about Crowley's choice not to choose heaven or hell cuz he doesn't fit there and kiss scene too but altogether it made this ending look really emotional and dramatic time to prepare for more suffering if another season comes out hehe
Imvho, Crowley isn't alone in the US. Azi is there too. He was always there. This video is evidence enough. Azi has been in love with his friend and aware of it for a long time, just denying it, lying to himself. Because it's *wrong*. Throughout the entire show, it is stressed just how stubborn, rigid-minded and conservative a person he is. Of course, he's having a hard time accepting that everything he was taught, everything he ever believed in is hypocrisy.
I don't think he means to change Crowley. Deep down, he knows Crowley is right. But Crowley was originally an angel and became a demon as a punishment. Azi genuinely thinks he's offering the best gift ever. Let's not mention that it would mean being together WITH God's blessing. "Wrong" would become "Good". From Crowley's point of view, though, after seeing Gabriel chose Beelzebub over God, it must seem that Azi just doesn't love him enough to break free. Yes. He must feel lonely and betrayed and miserable beyond words. That picture of him standing by his car. Still hoping? To the very last second.

This is so gorgeous! Definitely got a bit teary; theirs is such a beautiful, emotional love story and there's so many layers to it.
In a way the kiss amuses me because Crowley did say he thought one kiss between Nina and Maggie would fix everything, so he tried it too. I'm sure it was more than just that... That he really wanted it and maybe thought this would be his only chance, but still.
The acting in these scenes from both of them was stellar. Lovely video and this version of the song is stunning! Very fitting.

I love this show sooo much, everything, they are so good, everything is so perfect, like even the ending, a sad ending doesn't mean bad, it's actually the contrary, their relationship isn't perfect, isn't healthy enough to not have this sad confession separation thingy, cuz they are still struggling with heaven hell and everything, it's not as easy as gabriel and belzebub, they've been in love for 6000 years and i just know season 3 is gonna be the whole inverse of s2, heartbreaking, frustrating, soul crushing all through the season and then the sweet DESERVED ending can't wait for it
This 6000 year slow burn is making me crazier as each day pass. I love them more than everything. This separation/space between them is needed even if this hurts so bad.
I know the heart wants what the heart wants but Crowley deserves better. He’s literally been Aziraphale’s biggest supporter and champion forever and it just doesn’t go both ways 😢
I believe Az loves Crowley just as much, but fails to understand what he really wants. They’ve just experienced the world in such fundamentally different ways, and they keep trying to protect each other in whatever way *they* think is best instead of communicating properly. But despite the sad ending, there’s been some progress and I’m sure they’ll get there, eventually.
What I hate the most about their relationship so far is that : Aziraphale lied and told Crowley he had the opportunity to send him to Hell... and yet, Crowley acknowledged that Aziraphale would be miserable there "Nah, you wouldn't like it" so chooses not to denounce him. Meaning that Crowley knew Aziraphale enough to know he was meant to stay an angel... Meanwhile, while given the opportunity to reciprocate, Aziraphale stayed trapped in his own point of view (Good is Good, Bad is Bad, blah blah blah) an completely disregarded Crowley's own wishes. Worst, he seems to not really have been AWARE of them : as much as Aziraphale would be happier an angel, Crowley IS happier as a demon. He knew both sides and made a choice. It KILLS me to see how BLIND that insufferable, ineffable angel Aziraphale is. Also, how selfish. 😭😭😭
I still am a little bit intrigued and hopeful about that last smile of Aziraphale on the elevator. It could very well mean that he has a plan and it needs to be performed in complete secrecy. At least I hope he does.

I physically cannot with the ending. The amount of emotion in the scenes, and the sort of nostalgic sadness the quiet version of such an intense song brings had me on the verge of tears.
This song is slightly sweet and bitter at the same time, but it soothes my heart after epilogue of season 2 but only a little

Agreed, but the passion and desire (lust of the flesh/carnal desire) is a more natural state for a demon. Aziraphale loves him but it is a more ‘pure’ and genteel kind of love. It’s probably the first time he has experienced love that way. Crowley as a former angel would know both. 😊They need to be able to meet in the middle.

But, if you watch Aziraphale's hands during that scene he's doing some holding on to Crowley which shows that at some point Aziraphale was into it and wanted it.

i think aziraphale wants crowley to go back to heaven with him because them not being on the same side technically was the very reason why for a long time they cannot admit their relationship. and for aziraphale, as an angel, still sees that the only way to be with crowley without risking their existence is in heaven 😭
I see it more like Aziraphale just like Crowley doesn’t really fit anywhere (including current heaven) but he can’t admit it cuz he needs to be a part of something and there’s no “in between” for him. And well the only way for them to be together is either change things in heaven or leave it but we all understand that first thing probably won’t happen (yay make another season) and he declined the other option :( Anyways the whole thing is really depressing because Crowley doesn’t feel comfortable coming back (and he’s right about it) and Aziraphale isn’t ready to go as well so there was no other choice for them :’)
