I love that Aziraphale is clearly touched when Crowley said “I lost my best friend” but says “I’m sorry to hear that” in case he was talking about someone else.

Can you imagine people when Crowley's talking with Aziraphale? They just see a drunk guy shouting to air "AGNES NUTTER!!" while pointing a book to no one

I’m imagining one guy at the back muttering to himself, “No, you’re a nutter, mate.”
He'd already been rambling drunkenly for some time before Aziraphale showed up, they'd probably written him off 20 minutes prior.
Pretty normal in a pub in London lol
The way crowley sounds like he's crying is so precious to me. He genuinely is trying to stop crying about how he's seeing his best friend he thought he lost again. And his excitement when he took the specific book he needed!

"...look, wherever you are, I'll come to you." It's small and hidden in the middle of much bigger things being said. But it gets me every time. :)
MaylarArt Read a tumblr post that was Very Good meta analysis - throughout their relationship, Crowley has always nudged at Aziraphale’s boundaries, trying to get him to break free from Heaven’s propaganda and see things his way. He toed the line as carefully as possible without breaking it, and eventually Aziraphale would give in, just a little. From the Arrangement to the holy water to raising Warlock, Aziraphale always eventuality gives in. It’s the game they play. But come the Apocalypse, Aziraphale isn’t budging. Crowley asks him to run away with him, and he refuses, but then he *cuts off everything.* Crowley is hurt, but then when shit really hits the fan, he tries pushing again - and Aziraphale *still says no.* And there’s no time for an eventual yes. But come the Bar Scene, Crowley has learned his lesson - rather than trying to bring Aziraphale to his view, Crowley says he’ll *meet him where he is.* And that makes *all the difference.*

Please don't let us grieve like this.. I mean after 3 weeks of s2 I still couldn't stop sobbing.. Will you make season 3 for us😢.. Indeed I never felt so real before in any kind of movies or series 😐😞😞..
How Crowley looks and sounds when Aziraphale mentions his bookshop and then Crowley carefully says that his bookshop isn't there anymore and it burned down bcuz he knew how much Aziraphale loved his bookshop and he knew this news would hurt him so he waits for Aziraphale reaction with concern is pure love and also I'm terrible at explanations.
Yeah, same thing happens in the last episode when he reminds him that it burned down. He says it so softly sorrowfully, not because he cares about but because he knows how much it means to Aziraphale. They're so sweet.
“Yeh, I took it - look! Souvenir!” That was adorable.
He was so excited 😭💕
You can hear that roughness in David's voice that comes only from a lot of crying and screaming. Well, and being in a burning building screaming and inhaling smoke.... but you know. I'm entirely convinced that Crowley was doing a lot more screaming and crying then we saw. I need to get a copy of that book...
Oh, you do! I hope you have by now!
“Wet and steaming, face ash-blackened, as far from cool as it was possible for him to be, on all fours in the blazing bookshop, Crowley cursed Aziraphale, and the ineffable plan, and Above, and Below.”
Oh, you are going to cry. I know I did. 😭
@@ghostmadlittlemiss oh my heaven, I actually read that line from your comment just now and I couldn't stop myself from crying. I couldn't stop the warbling in my voice. Man.
The way Aziraphale replies to Crowley saying “I lost my best friend” always makes me feel like he doesn’t realise He’s Crowley’s best friend.
I personally thinks that he understand that Crowley sees him as his best friend, but he replied with "So sorry to hear it", bc if crowley was talking about someone else, he still want to show him solidarity. I think this, bc he does break for a second, before speek again.
He isn't. He is his husband
I once read somewhere (though I can't remember if it's from an interview or speculation) that Crowley's heartbreaking scene in the fire was from Neil Gaiman channeling his grief on Terry Pratchett's death while working on the script for the show.
As if this scene didn't have enough feels! 🥺😭

i love how sincere crowley is. he is a mess, heartbroken and wont even try to hide it.
Aziraphale is the best angel
Yes quite right
I honestly love in movies where demons and angels have their own notion of what their Master's plan is, but it tends to end up just a notion of their own narcissism and sense of self-destiny. Makes them...human, just more powerful. Here in Good Omens we have Gabriel, basically the General, who has not much clue on what happens on Earth, but is dead set on the ultimate battle against Evil, like it has to happen right away as God plans. And then we have humble little Aziraphale, a bit clumsy but means so well. Sees the good in everyone, even other demons, which of course gains him a rather unexpected and strong friendship with Crowley. Crowley is still a demon and has an edge of evil, but he also sees that there is absolutely no rush to the Final Battle. People to corrupt and highways to burn, you know.
And then there is God, here narrating the story, showing how She absolutely misses nothing, even Aziraphale and Crowley conspiring with each other to stop the Final Battle and the End of the World, and doesn't stop them. Doesn't even put the slightest bit of blame or judgment upon them, even if Gabriel and her other angels grow increasingly impatient with Az's incompetence and inaction.
If there isn't a better story of the scope of free will that humans, angels, and demons possess, I am sure it is out there, but Good Omens is an excellent and awesome example.
Your bloddy right he is
🥺 Best angel. 🥺🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
Because he is soft😊☺️
can we just talk about the people behind Crowley watching him yell to air
"AGNES NUTTER YES I TOOK IT-"
Local demon was yelling at the air. 5/5 stars would visit again
"Don't talk, Anderson, you'll lower the IQ of the whole celestial sphere."
His voice. Oh the breaking voice.
“I’ve been discorporated.”
*look of concern/interest *
“Ohh”
Amazon why are you doing this to us I didn’t need to cry today
@Kristen Brown Yes, it's based on a book written by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Aside from the series, which you can find on Amazon Prime, there is a radio narration and... uh... a theatre play, apparently (appart from a movie script that is rather... infamous, but wasn't ever made into a movie). Anyways, the most important ones are the book and the Amazon series.
The way his eyebrows go up when he sees Aziraphale 🥺
That's the only instinctive movement we humans still have - eyebrows up when we see a person we know AND like ))) quite strange the demon also has it, but since his body is human enough to drink and drive, so other aspects are also possible ))))
What really makes me sad is that:
Either Aziraphale is a super polite (well, he is English) angel and says sorry to Crowley because of the little argument they had had before; or he doesn't know that Crowley is talking about him when he says he lost his best friend.
I think option two is more probable, and now I'm crying
The acting here is very nuanced and subtle. You have to listen and look carefully, because the words Aziraphale says, "I'm sorry to hear that" to Crowley, are very light and casual, but his expression and tone of voice are very loving, and he absolutely conveys he returns Crowley's affections, but in that very understated British way, while being considerate of how Crowley has opened himself up to be so vulnerable. Such wonderful acting by both actors! They convey such a beautiful depth of feeling here, and Aziraphale is absolutely conveying back to Crowley he feels the same way - it is just very subtly done! David Tennant is just superb in this show and he is matched perfectly by Michael Sheen. So lovely to watch!
@@sueolson8119 completely agreed
Aziraphale discorporates:
Aziraphale: I must find my way back to earth!
Crowley: oh well time for *snakey depression*
This whole scene is funny and heartfelt, but my favorite moment is one not many people talk about. I adore Crowley’s little “Aziraphale!” when his Angel shows up. There’s so much disbelief and hope and love crammed into that one whisper. Crowley, you’re breaking my heart here! 🥹

And Crowley's face... "YES INHABIT ME YOU DORK"
“I’m not going there…”
"But I sure wish that angel would..."
Aziraphale dropping way un-subtle hints for millennia and Crowley trying to play it cool and failing each time. "Probably explode" INDEED.
Clearly Az didn't stop thinking about it as they swapped bodies just some hours later.

The word you're looking for is "husband" Crowley...
He just misunderstood BF you see, it was supposed to be BoyFriend not Best Friend
So they can't be just friends?
@@Maybe_youre_quicksand Well, the thing about those two is that they've been best friends for 6000 years, since the world was created in the book. Crowley fell in love with Aziraphale in the beginning of the book because he gave away his flaming sword to Adam and Eve, the very thing he was entrusted with. And he's been besotted with him ever since. Hopefully that cleared a few things up. 😊 Have you read or watched the series and book?
@@makwa2004 yes, both, but in the book did not tell that they were in love.
@@Maybe_youre_quicksand Ohhh. Well, I know everyone can interpret it differently, but even one of the authors (Neil Gaiman) confirmed that they were in love along with the men who play Aziraphale and Crowley. It's implied in the book, but lightly. In the show, they added more romance and story.

When I first saw this scene, since Principality are mid-ranking angels, I thought that by, "Your whole platoon is waiting," the angel meant that Aziraphale was supposed to *lead* the platoon. Hi!!! I've had a thought for a while but I don't know any fans so I figured I'd post it here. So, I've been thinking that since Crowley couldn't call Aziraphale his lover after he told him he goes too fast for him (BIGGEST 🥺 EVER) the next big name that can describe his feelings for Aziraphale is best friend 🥺❣️ Plus the fact that they used You're My Best Friend in this scene but skipped the bit that goes "I want you to know that my feelings are true, I really love you, you're my best friend" AND the next time they see each other he calls Aziraphale his best friend 🥺
This probably isn't new but I still needed to share my thoughts on this very special scene 🥺
Yes the Authors wrote that they had feelings for each other but had to sneaky about it since at the time the book was written people were not very receptive to same sex partners. I thought they were just friends but after reading the book and looking it up I can see it.
