Thank you Jon and Menlo church for speaking vulnerably and humbly about this vital issue in the body of Christ. I agree it's not primarily a political issue. It's a biblical issue. It's a gospel issue. It's very key to our Discipleship and church planting strategies.
Will be praying for you and other churches all the way from Johannesburg, South Africa. 🇿🇦❤

Nice service! I’m only eleven and I enjoyed it very much! Although racism has been around for a long time so it wasn’t just invented.

Sound Biblical teaching, and your sincere emotion is appreciated John. I'm 60, Latino, with 12 grand kids, several of mixed race.
There's a disparity between our distinct racial groups (I have 12 gkds, you have 1) that alone brings about great angst to many.
If Menlo Church wants to truly be an agent in unifying the body of Christ (some call it racial reconciliation), how about expanding into the other side of the Bay. How about, placing in leadership roles some brown faces. John, I'm sure you're aware of the intentional use Homogeneous Unit Principle in the 20th century in worldwide outreach. Unfortunately, it has also become the norm in local church growth outreach. Often predominantly white churches, believe that they are racially inclusive just because they have racial minorities who attend their services. Not true, most likely those individuals who are of a racial minority are culturally similar to the white majority of the church body. It gets mighty uncomfortable when the church members appearance and social demeanor is distinctly different. Wish we could ask the gentile believers, how they felt, when after Peter had befriended them, all of the sudden he avoided them, upon the Christian Jewish believers from Jerusalem. Majority rules. Cultural Hegemony is still alive and well in our local churches. Yeah, sin is the root cause. The remedy is the Love of Christ pour out through us all (John 15:13).
