A spotlight or a torch light is shone into patients galbella from a distance of 33 cm and the reflex of the torch is observed in both the eyes simultaneously. If the reflex is shifted temporally, patient is said to have esodeviation, if the reflex is shifted nasally, the deviation is exodeviation, if the reflex is shifted up and down; the deviation is hypodeviation and hyper deviation respectively. Its starts with important pointers that help in detection of the squint. The video discusses corneal reflex test compared to the concept of angle kappa. The video discusses about positive angle kappa, negative angle kappa and its association with PSEUDOEXOTROPIA and PSEUDOESOTROPIA. We discuss the process , interpretation and clinical nuggets associated with the HCRT test .

I have a question as i am dealing only with adult patients, if the patient presented to me with clear left eye esotropia and paralysis of abduction (2ry to left 6th nerve palsy), what is the point from doing the mal alignment tests like alternate cover, cover uncover or maddox rod?
