I can't believe that you have actually made a video to answer my specific question! At the junkyard I got so frustrated with the dusty thing I just cut through the wires. This video is a godsend - now I know how to actually get the old TCM off my car. Let's hope the "new" one works. Thank you!
pulling the tabs up is the hardest part... if you get them then all u have to do is pry out the sides of the connector with a long screwdriver very carefully. itll come out eventually
dude im struggling to remove the ecu cover to replace the ECU housing as all the bracket are broken.can you please explain how to remove the screws of the ecu cover please
I saw a video showing how to release a stubborn connector (not ECU). It said DO NOT SPRAY! Reason: the dust will turn to mush, making things even more difficult. Instead, tap lightly a hundred times. Bit by bit you could see the grains of dry dirt, dust come out. Magic.
Same connector design for TCM. Had to replace entire 12A581 harness since three out of four of these connectors failed despite taking great care to release the lever.
What about using a can of CRC Electronic Cleaner and just blasting the entire can in there to blow the dirt out? It’s not lubricant but it’s a cleaner that’s safe for all the electronics? Do you think that might work?
hi i have a remap for focus mk3 2011 and after a while the battery light came on so I had the alternatoj replaced but the battery came on again and the power steering also started to smoke terribly from the exhaust and now I can't start it is possible that due to disconnected battery the control unit stopped communicating with devices ????????
Any suggestions on how to remove a circuit board from the dashboard plug in? I’m repairing the instrument cluster and plugged it back in the car to test it, however I did not put back on the plastic shell and now I’m stuck with removing it with my bare hands. Any specific lubricants I can use without ruining the electrical components?
I think the red brackets to loosen the connectors to my ecu are broken how else can I disconnect them from my ecu please help I’ve been struggling for days
Connector will not go back in no matter what I do. What is the problem? It won’t go past the holes on the side of the female connector with the clamp on male in any position

Spray and let it sit for about 1 hour. Just like any penetrating spray lube, it takes time to soak and loosen dirt.
