The mini Mark is finally here… The Mark Five: 25!
The MARK FIVE: 25, like the MARK FIVE it is born from, is really a collection of iconic amplifiers. There are far too many circuits and sounds to think of it as merely an amp... it’s a living history of MESA/Boogie!
In this latest 25 watt incarnation, the sounds and attributes that make MARK Series amps so popular on stage and in the studio are not only shrunk to their smallest possible physical size, but are also further refined and improved. The gorgeous sparkling Cleans and soaring high gain Lead sounds have made the jump successfully across output tube platforms and a new and exciting timbre of the MARK Series voice is created here in the MARK FIVE: 25™’s EL84 Duet. Brighter, tighter, more shredding in the top end, a bit more forgiving in feel and exceedingly more clip-able, the FIVE: 25 is right on time. Whether introducing the MARK heritage to a new generation of low wattage devotees, or fulfilling the ultra-portable Tone Dreams of steadfast MARK Series fans, the MARK FIVE: 25 has got what it takes to inspire and fuel your passion in the most manageable package ever!
The quick specs of the Mark V 25 are 2 channels, 6 modes - 3 per channel via 6 12AX7 preamp tubes, a 5 band Graphic EQ, 3 spring tube reverb and Multi-Watt Power selectability PER Channel, between 25 watts Class A/B Dyna-Watt and 10 watts Class A/B Triode… And the CabClone direct XLR and headphone outputs with Open and Closed back cabinet voicings.

Goodbye car.
Hello Mark Five:25.
João Gustavo de Águida
Hahahaha
PS: whoever is the man or woman behind the keyboard for Mesa/Boogie responding to all these comments - bravo; you're very diplomatic and knowledgeable. It's refreshing to see constructive, critical, and mature comments on a video these days :)
Likewise,Ugly Bunny. Appreciate your contributions as well. The innernet is a good thing...
You can just say "person" these days. Gender is not relevant here.
Ugly pig b*tch you should not be mentioning women I'll make your slutty white sister suck me off. :-) punks looking like little pigs lol. Everyone knows you whites can't fight, y'all have already gotten beat up. I scared you little dumb punks for life

MESA/Boogie Mark Five: 25 Official Demo Video
I can't put in words how much I love my Mark Five 25. Feels like the first time in my life that I own a real amp and all the ones before were toys (Hughes&Kettner, Roland, Marshall). Thanks for keeping up the great craftsmanship and greetings from Bavaria!
I bought one two months ago and it is mind blowing the variety and quality of sounds you can create! So articulate,I’m willing to bet the people that don’t care for Mesa are impatient and lack a clean technique.
Congrats on the new amp, James and thanks for the kind words. So glad it's working well for you and we hope it continues to exceed expectations and deliver TONE!
Love this amp. It's perfect for my small home studio. I get all the Mesa sound without having to crank it up too loud.
Thanks for the kind words, +Robin Jahnsson! UA-cam is a great place to help customers and answer questions. :D. Regarding the CabClone in the Mark Five: 25, it ABSOLUTELY allow you to record without a speaker connected when you have the SPKR OFF switch selected. This engages the internal load resistor that provides for silent direct recording. Hope this helps and thanks for your interest!
MESA/Boogie Thanks for answering my question
Now another question about the footswitching. Is it possible to change channels from an amp control jack (tc gmajor 2/boss gt 100) instead of the one that comes with the amp or even with midi. That would be so useful to me. Im trying to find the amp used so thats why im asking.
And is the headphone jack part of the cab clone, so can you only use the headphone jack without connecting a cab.
Thanks again.
Robin Jahnsson - Regarding footswitching, YES! You would connect your control jack to the amps FTSW input and when you sent switch messages from your floor FX or other devices, the channels would change as you programmed them to on your pedals. The Mark Five 25 is not MIDI capable but you can buy devices that interface the amp's footswitching and turn the signal into MIDI if the rest of your rig is controlled by MIDI. Google RJM Music for some interface ideas if you want to go MIDI. Regarding the CabClone headphone jack, it works with the SPKR ON or OFF, but the headphone and the DI Output cannot be used at the same time (you can only use the headphones OR the DI - but not both at the same time. Hope this helps and thanks again for your interest!
Thanks MESA/Boogie, this helps me alot.
Yes i have found a couple of those (trs/midi or mono/midi) boxes that i could use and they seem to do what i would need them for. But, is the footswitch cable trs or mono (i guess it's trs/stereo because both channel & eq can be switched).
About the CabClone, i would probably never even use both methods at the same time.
Now if i can find this amp used i would buy it immediately :)
Thank you for helping me with this.
Robin Jahnsson
- Nice! The ftsw cable is TRS. Top controls the channel switching and sleeve controls the EQ on/off. You can find you nearest dealer/distributor here: www.mesaboogie.com/US/Dealers/dealers___support.htm
I love my Mark V and when I saw this I knew I had to have one!
This is just beyond awesome! And with the built in Cab Clone it just takes it over the top!
Thanks Mesa!
Thanks txguitarslinger! Much appreciated and glad you dig!
Best Mesa demo video so far, IMO. Nicely done!
Many thanks,Ken Brownfield. Trying to step it up and appreciate the kind words!
I am a long time fan and Mesa Boogie owner, (Mark III) and have always enjoyed the rich intense sound it, and all Boogies produce. This smaller amp has possibilities in my routines and I am considering adding one to my stable. Thanks Mesa Engineering for producing such magnificent equipment.
Thank YOU,Michael DiGregorio! We genuinely appreciate the kind words and hope this mini Mark delivers the goods for ya! :D Let us know if you have any questions - happy to help. Thanks for watching.
I bought this little beast week ago..Love It..One of the best amp ever had!!
yup I *love* small amps and I am buying this amp for sure.... Thanks Mesa more great products
love the demo with the Gretsch.
I have a Mesa MK3 I bought in '89 and a 2010 Dual Rec. Best amps on the planet!
I'm fairly convinced this is the best amp available right now. Unfortunately it's criminally expensive in the UK.
Yeah man , it is not only expensive in Europe it is also expensive in Asia . It costs almost rs120000 in India which is £1200 . But mesa amps sound really great.
@@darklibra2488 £1200 is a bargain, its double that price in the UK!
@@jsullivan2112 In main Europe (I'm checking a fairly popular german site), it's listed as the equivalent of $2200 (usd). That's for the 25w. The full mark V costs $3500. Granted, this is including VAT and 3 years warranty, but still a very hefty upfront cost.
In Canada it’s around 2000 to 4000
@@cookingwithbrady94 I can buy one super clean for 2000can. I'm tempted
By far this is the greatest amp that I have ever played. It is the perfect amp to pair with any rock or metal guitar. It is the ultimate pedal platformer and will bring out the full potential of your pedals.
Those clean channels. Like I don’t like metal or high gain stuff or chugging….when i get real squirrely i might play a few van halen style licks. But i never saw one of these amps and always wrote mesa off as overpriced and high gain. Until i played a used mark v 35w at a music store. I couldnt believe the amazing sounds coming from the amp. With no eq and a humbucker pickup on the crunch channel it sounded like the beautiful sound from a plexi. But the most impressive was the clean and fat channels. With a strat on the fat channel playing with the post eq boosting the mids…..id swear i was playing a steel string singer amplified nation…..or a dumble (though ive never played a real dumble but ive played a few good clones. And then you could run up the gain to just get it thicker and chewier and fatter. Then the regular clean channel just sounded like fantastic fender clean or a v40 duchess clean. On the first higher gain channel i was very pleased that it was like a pushed marshall into jcm territory. The mark iv channel was getting into the higher stuff i don’t typically like, but i found that i couldnt stop playing…..it was a good higher gain sound. Extreme i didnt mess with really.
But i guess its like 4-6 amps in one really. And especially with the eq, You can really make it sound like anything you want. Boost the highs a bit and drop the lows for a clean vox, use the pre eq and post eq together and youll never need another amp, ever. I think i just found my desert isle amp. Who woulda ever thought me with a mesa?? Everytime i see someone getting ready to play a dual rectifier on youtube i click off their channel cuz i hate that type of music typically. I always associated mesas with high gain. I was wrong. These mark v’s are a swiss army knife amp.
I've always wanted a Mesa..I've had the pleasure of trying a few. Well, hopefully before I leave this Earth I'll be able to come up with the money. Great presentation !
Mesa Boogie has been my Dream Amp ever since I could remember. There's just something special about the spongy crunch that I can't find with any other amp.. One day!
So happy to see this product. AND it includes the CabClone DI! You have out done yourself Mesa/Boogie. Well done!
Might I say that all of the licks and riffs were played AMAZINGLY!
Just bought a Mark V head from Wildwood Guitars in Louisville, Co. AMAZING AMP! Mesa makes a amazing amp, very pleased!
Thanks for the support and kind words, Dylan Steiner - So glad you're digging it! :D
For Pricing and Availability, please contact your local MESA dealer or distributor. You can search via the Dealer/Distributor Locator here: www.mesaboogie.com/US/Dealers/dealers___support.htm
Greetings Mesa. It's there any chance to add the cabclone option on your current line of amplifiers? Congratulations and excellent product
Hijags1103 - Thanks for the kind words. The original, standalone CabClone is what we recommend for our amps that don't have the circuit built-in. Hope this helps and great question!
MESA/Boogie thanks for the answer. I have a Stiletto Deuce stage II head and a Roadster 2x12 combo. Hope to buy soon the Cabclone for my rig
I'm in awe! I want to demo one. I'm checking local (San Diego) guitar shops.
Ey bro, your Mexican authorized distributor doesn´t even have a functioning web page at this year of 2015. You should choose better.
I just got my 525. After owning the Mark IV. I was looking for an amp that had more versatility for the bedroom but could still give me the Mark tight high gain sound I enjoy. The 525 fit the bill and also has a nice clean with options for more vintage style of tones in the crunch setting on channel 1. The Mark IV had tons of tones available, but was a lot more difficult to dial in. I'm a hobbyist, so the Mark 5 is great, it's a lot more simple and straight forward when compared to the IV. I made a huge mistake and got rid of the IV to a buddy of mine and tried a good grip of different amps before getting the 525. And nothing inspired me, or gave me the enjoyment that Mesa has. The IV was the first Mesa I personally owned and gave me a smile even a naked picture of Oprah couldn't get off my face. I owned a Rectifier afterwards, tried the Trans Alantic, Dyna Watt and Stilletto. They're all great amps. I can tell you Boogie has an amp for any style you want!.
Thanks huge for the amazing kind words,Johnny Six! So glad the Mark Five: 25 is going great for you and we genuinely appreciate the glowing review and your enthusiasm for Mesa in general. Keep on rockin' and let us know if there's anything we can help with!
@@mesaboogie Mark 525 is still my favorite amp, #000204. going strong!
This is almost my story as well. There's still a few things my MKIV does that I can't totally replicate with the MK5:25 (which I've nicknamed "Grogu" lol) but this doesn't detract from what a fabulous little package this and I love it with the mini 1x12 stack I have as well. Once I added the Jens Bogren IR's to my DAW, I was really sold. I appreciate the Clone Cab effort but it still ain't there compared to the Jens Bogren cabs.
That Les Paul tone in the Mark V :O:O:O
Eat your heart out Gibson/Marshall combo
Your engineers are very literate! Or someone lucky with hearing and a sense of sound or both together). I've just broken my head how to get it!) The sound of your amplifiers really deserves respect!
You should get John Petrucci to demo this! He gets amazing sounds out of the regular Mark V, so I'm interested to see if he can get tones that are just as good out of this thing!
Also, I was hoping you guys would make this. This is next on the gear acquisition list for sure!
HeyAaronmac404 - This is a great idea... AND - a distinct possibility! Stay tuned. ;)
MESA/Boogie This would be ULTRA awesome !
MESA/Boogie John Petrucci is the best advertising for you ;)
Here you go: ua-cam.com/video/gjkfArHfV6Q/v-deo.html
Compliments on the product video. So many videos are hit or miss. I nearly felt like I had played the amp myself after watching. Seems like the most versatile and tone rich amp ever made. Watch out dumble
Hi Tien, this is absolutely an amazing innovation by Mesa Boogie. For $1299, this is a great amp at a great price!
My next amp!
Thanks,GuitarToneFreaks. Appreciate the kind words and look forward to hearing what people do with this amp when it starts to land in stores (and gigs and players hands) in the next week or two!
Come on tax return!! :)
$2400 in Australia. Terribly overpriced.
Got mine a week ago. Its everything I'd hoped for and more! And I'm still exploring
Just ordered this last night with a Fillmore 19 inch cab. I regretted getting rid of my Dual Rectifier. My ex wife loathed all my guitar gear. I am very thankful to be part of the Boogie family again.
Great amp. Saving up for one.
I like this very much.
Must decide between this or the new 50/25 watt PRS Archon they just released.
This is so amazing mesa! This is exactly what I needed! Please don't discontinue this for years! In a few years I will buy this if its still around ;)
hope u bought it
Thank you Mesa Boogie , just got mine and I LOVE IT !! I also have the RV combo and roaster head and I love them both but this little mark just seems to get me !! Very happy customer
Thanks,jetrecords11 - Glad you're diggin' it! :D
I haven't used an amp in years. I run through an amp emulator and rely on pedals for various tones. My entire band runs totally direct and we have zero stage volume. We have a fantastic sound that's fully controllable. As such I haven't had any need or desire for an amp for quite some.
This amp, however, given it's size, portability, functionality, direct options, and tone is the first amp in a long time to give me a bit of G.A.S. I've never really been a "Mesa guy" per se but this thing is a beast that suits all of my gigging and recording needs at a reasonable price. Well done Mesa. You may have just won a new convert.
Now I just have to convince my wife. :)
Thanks,spalmer718 - Given your approach, this is a ringing endorsement and we appreciate the kind words. Let us know what you think when the wifey gives you the green light! :D
Wonderful amp - its almost too wonderful - so many good sounds its hard to dial in for live use....you need three of these amps on stage!
literally who disliked this video. you guys are absolutely killer and im so proud and happy to have even the one piece of MESA gear i have (mini recto 1x12 slant) and i cant wait to get better and pick up more, hopefully without gibsons grubby mitts having been on them. KEEP IT UP Y'ALL
Good lord! That's a great sounding amp. Hope it's available soon worldwide... Have to get my hands on it!
Wow, this is so awesome. Might be just what I've been looking for to add to my arsenal.
SO FREAKING AWESOME ... NOW I KNOW WHAT I'M GETTING FOR CHRISTMAS !!!
at last!! a boogie I can afford!! superb ...
Ive had mine for about 2 weeks - finest amp ever!
Congrats, Paul! :D
Congratz, this is going to be a huge hit for you guys. wow
Thanks,satch72 - hope you're right! :)
Just a great, well described and demonstrated amp, and kudos to the manufacturer for answering questions. Love the versatility.
Awesome amplifier! I glad I waited for it to be released, to ad to my mountain of other various amplifiers!!!
Never been so convinced to buy an amp since the big Mark V!
I can't turn mine off. I have a Mesa 1x12, 2x12 & a Bogner 4x12, sounds great into all of them. 10w/25w switching is handy for getting a monster tone into a 1x12 at low volumes. Great cleans too.
Another masterpiece by Mesa!!!!!
These things look and sound amazing.
Many thanks, +James Cooper ! Glad you dig... :)
I LOVE MESA BOOGIE FOR EVER AND EVER !!! THE BEST OF THE BEST'S !!!
It's a bummer Tien Lawrence isn't with Mesa Boogie anymore. He did a great job in the product demos!! I actually bought the Mark V:25 based on this video. Excellent job with the video production and presentation. Let's hope he lands with another amp company!
Well, this seems to be a great option for the ones that want something smaller with all the options the mark series can give.
Very nice guys!
Thanks, Christian Overland - exactly what we were going for, there. ;) Appreciate the kind words.
;)! Im hoping one day you will have a dealer here in Chile hehe.
ALL CAPS EPIC WIN!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS MESA BOOGIE WE ALL HOPED AND DREAMED OF THIS DAY AND YOUR TEAM DELIVERED THE GOODS!!!! THANK-YOU THANK-YOU SOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!
ThanksKelly Jackson - much appreciated and glad you dig!
Love this demo up to 7:40... then it starts to go haywire, going full djentard at 8:36. You NEVER go full djentard! :) Excellent amps, I can't think of a single feature that would be missing, action packed with switches and options!
HAHALeon Žunec - full 'Djentard', huh. Gotta go big at the end, though. ;)Thanks for the kind words!
MESA/Boogie
That was a bit mean of me, I don't like Djent that much. But this amp cooks! I have an old Studio .22+ and I'm thinking of upgrading... is there a mini Mark combo in the making as well?
I thought it was very funny, actually. No offense taken. ;) That's why there are so many different styles represented throughout the video. Studio .22+ rocks! There are currently no plans in the works for a Mark Five 25 combo. Thanks again!
Just ordered one, really excited to try it out!
Very very versatile sounding amp!
Yes agree this I'd the best demo of an amp I have seen. I used to have a rectoverb and had to sell..but if funds are there would like one off these:-)
The most beautiful amp ever.
Possible to do a "Plus" Version
With a 3 Position Footswitch allowing
1)Clean .
2) Crunch EXACTLY like Crunch Mode on Clean Channel.
3) Lead Channel.
As you have heard -many could just use the Existing Clean Channel Modes .
If at extra charge the above could be done - would be great for Gigging.
The Crunch Mode is great as are the Cleans- amazing Engineering Feat.
This Randall Smith guy has a Future in Amp Design - lol.
+RobertK Scorpio I'm with you... I wish there would be an option to footswitch between clean/fat and the crunch mode... I wonder if it's possible to build in an option like that?!?
Just got my hands on one, with mini recto slant cab.
What an amp, and LOUD!
heard lots of good steve vai tones in there, i'm getting one!
Just tried the 1x10 Combo, and was wowed by the tones in that little monster. Very helpful video, thanks.
GREAT amp ! I've been using mine for 6 mos now ...best, most versatile amp I ever used. The one thing that would make it even better is having the Channel 1 modes footswitchable - there's SO much just in Channel 1 ! Thanks, MESA
Thank YOU Phillippo - so glad you're digging it! :)
Anything on the horizon for that extra mode switching capability??
Philippo Franchini
Sorry to say, but no. :/
As long as the guitar signal isn’t passing through the mode switch itself, adding a foot switch for it probably wouldn’t be a difficult mod for an amp repair shop.
Still haven't found it in Mexico, I might have to import it or bring one on the plane next time I visit the U.S. I really need this amp, lol. All the features and tone in a head I can actually carry with one hand, I'm in love.
HiAristowi - Thanks for your interest and the kind words. We don't currently have distribution in Mexico so please contact the factory directly to discuss purchase options: mesaboogie.com/support/contact-us.html
We are so close, and at at the same time so far, lol. Thanks, I will contact you.
Just preordered one at Sweetwater.com with my rep, Joe Schafer. I’ve been going back and fourth for months on the EVH 5150III 50w head or the Mesa Rectoverb 25 Head. I’m glad I waited. Can’t wait to get my hands on this little bastard! Thanks!
How much is it at sweetwater?
ProgRockMetal2112 Sweetwater has it for $1,299. Call Joe Schafer at extension 1393, he can pre-order one for you.
Thanks!
I'm so sick of hearing my guitar through headphones and a DAW; it's time to move some air.
Hallelujah, Walt Chalmers - We're with you! :D
haha same for me !!! Can't play through headphones !!!!!!!!
Wow. Just getting ready to buy an Express 5:50+, but may have to rethink that - and opt for the Mark V (25) route. BTW Mesa Dudes, nice job on the newer-larger graphics of your tone examples in this video. Easy to read! Great video and great job by Tien Lawrence on this demo.
Thank you kindly,Bob Venegas. Appreciate the feedback on the graphics as well. Mesa's graphics guy has outdone himself on panel art once again. ;)Much appreciated!
I would love to add this to the stable. I'm currently running a dual recto half stack but I love the mark series sound. Closest I ever got to owning one was my mesa studio preamp that I ran into a peavey classic 4x10. Guess I'll just have to save my dollars up...
we need that extreme-mode-duo-demo in a full video version right away or my heart and brain will simply refuse to keep working..mesa, boogie it for me please, do it, i swear it will work, please!
Pe Peroni Working on it, mate. Hang in there. ;)
MESA/Boogie
it will be the longest hanging-in of my life! XD thanks guys)
We need a file of that duo as well haha : )
AutonomistBand
nice work guys)
I have a lot of amps... I'm still waiting on a boogie. The sound is excelelnt but it looks like a lot of work for a live player that has more than one sound. Other than being able to control the features remotely I would give it 8/10 based on the sound. I have reference monitors I'm listening to this thing from this video. It is spot on with a diversity of tone however -2 for ease of use.
I don't know if any other company does this but what i love about MESA/Boogie is that they actually reply to people's comments on youtube and answer their questions and help them if they have som problems.
One question about this amp, when using the cab clone feature for silent recording, does it work as a dummy load or should you always have a speaker connected.
Btw, it sucks to live in europe because this amp costs like 1750€ (about $2075 incl. tax) here new even tho it has the cab clone built in.
This video was very helpful for dialing in a variety of tones! I found one that was not called out that y’all should try with the Fat channel with the Master cranked and minimal Gain! It is shimery, spanky and beautiful!
Those are some ferocious tones! And extremely versatile! Awesome!
I was thinking that this amp would be great for studio visits, I have had a 5:50 Express for the longest time but its a bit large to lug around...but watching this video, it sounds like it tries to be master of every possible genre with very high gain emphasis. I probably wouldn't use 70% of the sounds in it....a bit disappointed as I was all set to love it...
Hi +TheCrystalyne - Nearly all Mesa amps try to be very versatile, which is a mantra of the company to provide amps that playters can find many sounds with as well as grow with the amp as their styles, gigs and needs change. Our video demos try to showcase many different styles so that you can see the variety that this amp (and all of the others offer. Our Founder, Designer and President Randall Smith calls it "Value for Your Amplifier Dollar"... meaning that you have an amp whose Gain & Tone Controls are capable of a wide range of adjustment and sounds. It's important to keep in mind that... well... there are knobs on it and you will set those knobs on it where you want them... and the next guy who plays it will do the same. Maybe you're working on a Blues album/song one day, and the next day is classic rock, and the next day is metal. This amp will do ALL of those sounds - you just have to turn the knobs and find them. Compared to amps that are often referred to as "one-trick ponies", this is just ther way we do it and the way we think our amps should be. Your mileage may vary but hopefully this response will encourage you to check out the amp in person for yourself, turn the knobs where you want them and find out if it has the range of sounds you want/need. At the end of the day, no demo can encompass everything everyone will be looking for. It just gives you ideas and if it interests you, it;s time for more research. The best research is playing it for yourself - nothing beats that and usually the first couple of notes will tell you one way or the other. Hope this helps and thanks for your interest! :D
+MESA/Boogie Thanks for the very detailed reply :-) Went into the dealer today and arranged for them to get one in from their HQ to try. One thing I do find very useful is the Cab Clone feature. I use a Cab Clone with my Maz 18 for recording at home and its excellent.
Awesome, TheCrystalyne! Hope you dig and glad to hear the CabClone is working well with your Maz (great amp!). Let us know how the tryout with the Mark Five: 25 goes... :D
So many thoughts...
Absolutely gorgeous little amp - especially the nice wood one. I think its only selling point for those of us that have the big daddy V is the built-in cab clone, unfortunately. I guess it'd be great for people that were on the fence about getting the Mark V but were put off by the price. I almost never use channel 2 on the V so this might be nice. However, i use channel 2 on my Mark IV exclusively, so take that FWIW.
Anyway, M/B - as always, great work and nice vid. I don't think this is gonna become a classic, but it's a great compromise if you REALLY wanted the V. Hell; I might pick one up just cause I'm addicted. I'm being pushed out of my house by all my Boogies!
Thanks for the kind words and thoughtful comments,Ugly Bunny. Interesting to hear you prefer Ch. 2 on your Mark IV. Cool. Thanks for being addicted to Mesa stuff and we'll keep making smaller stuff too so you don't get pushed out of house and home... ;)
Hi +No M - This is probably one of the more impossible questions to answer since
there are so many variables to consider beyond the amp... Like, what
kind of cab will you be using, how loud is your drummer, do you play
INSANELY loud, what is your monitor situation, etc...??? You'll have to try it out to be sure with your other elements (guitars, cabs, etc.) but with the right cabs/enough speakers, there's probably very few gigs the
Mark Five 25 can't pull off. Hope this helps and thanks for your interest.
I'm thinking about replacing my Dual Rectifier with this one . Looks better for playing at home. Looks great.
Yes.They say the didnt find faulty issue.Ive sent to them video as well. That faulty is not happend always.First time was after 3 days use amp and another one was last sunday.I just turn off the amp (wait about 20 min)and still the same. When supplier get amp yesterday- they said working fine but today tell me about verdict.
OK - good information, +Greg Zet - Again - sorry for the hassle. INtermittant problems can be difficult to find sometimes but I trust that your supplier knows what to do to make things right. Keep me posted and feel free to email me with questions.
Thank you for not starting the video with "Hey, guys". I just bought one of these.
This is the amp I've been waiting for ever since you first dipped your toe into the lunch box style amps. Very excited.
It would be awesome if you did a video comparing the roadster and mark five combo tones side by side. Maybe I should just buy em both. Wife would freak!
Personally, I have been using the Mark IV for the last 25 years and wouldn't have it any other way. I like utilizing the warmth and sweetness that can be obtained from the amp, whether through the clean channel or the overdrive. Most of the tones in this demo are not my cup of tea. I don't say that as a criticism of the amp or those demoing it, but just that my personal taste is different from the sounds I am hearing on this video. That being said, the amp has unlimited possibilities combined with effective use of whatever guitar you are using,
Many thanks for the kind words, +Jeff Felderman ! We do our best to cover a wide range of sounds and styles that the amps are capable and continue to try and evolve our video demos to suit a wide range of tastes. Let us know what you'd like to see/hear! We'd appreciate your thoughts as we try to appeal to everyone through this medium! Thanks for the kind words and the comment. :)
+MESA/Boogie Thanks. Your awesome amps have seen a lot of gigs over the last 30 years and it keeps on crankin' it out. Best thing I ever did when I got the Mark IV.
Been Waiting For An Amp Like This 4Ever.....\m/....
excellent! I'm just waiting for a new version of Triaxis or Mark Series preamp/ Rack version.
I dont use the gain channel. so its good to know i can run my distortion pedals thru a sparkly clean channel. but its nice to be able to use the fat sound to add some thickness.
As much as there is no doubt that John Petrucci is amazing and he gets absolutely tight tones out of the big version, I was hoping that mesa could, for once, focus more on the 'not-so-progressive-or-djent' side of the amp. I know, there's the mini recti if you want that, but in my head right now, it's almost as if 'Mark V = Dream Theatre'. So I like where they're going with this particular demo...
Shh shh shh my friend come over here and have some Kool-Aid don't worry it's in a barrrel heres a dixie cup-go ahead refresh yourself :)
JP is really a great gear-seller and having him do amp demos is great (do you know of other guitarists that do such things?). This demo was far from being progressive/djent it was more about classic rock, blues and clean tones, they barely touched the high gain super tight aggressive tone...
vicsnake I agree with everything that you said, that's why I said 'I like where they're going with this particular demo'
i wish i could afford one, sounds unreal
You guys should get Mark Morton to demo one of these beauties.
And for anyone who gets one of these amps, READ THE DAMN MANUAL, because most of my friends who get a Mark say "oh, mesa sucks, I can't get a good tone out of my Mark", and that is because the Mark series has so many options, that you must read the manual in order to get the most out of your amp. With my rectifier I just plugged and played, but with my Mark IV I had to read the manual, and damn, totally worth it.
Thanks, Juan José Fonseca Godoy - great advice about the manuals. Lots to know about the inside details of Mesa amps, settings and best uses. Plus, our manuals are written by guitar players, for guitar players. Well worth the read. We'll give Mark a call and see if we can get him to come out and play some for us! ;)
MESA/Boogie
That would be great. And If you get Mark to demo a mini Mark, I bet that I'll probably get one.
That last set of notes that were chorded were very distorted in a bad way;but got better when he played the singular notes. Loved the high gain power chorded sounds
Tien is awesome at these demo's. I want one.
Too kind, Mark Boogie. Thanks!
My New Amp Is HERE!
I wanted this amp but my wife thought that getting solar panels installed was more important.
Monoprice shares many of the same features like knobs, a square shape, a plug.
Great innovation Mesa! This minI version has all the things that I need of the original one. But I'm wondering if It has the same sound quality. It would be great if you guys make a comparison between both amps with hi gain leads. Thanks.
What an amazing amp for this price! I'm just in LOVE with it!! And IMO, your best demo video so far. Question: Can I assume that the 'Speaker On/Off" switch activates an internal load box when in the 'Off' position? To be able to use the integrated CabClone D.I. without the need to connect the amp to a speaker cab, like with the original CabClone? (it'd be great to hear a demo of the amp recorded from the CabClone D.I. by the way) Thanks in advance, and again, what an amazing amp!
epic!
Hi Jerry Baez - Thanks for the kind words and you are correct! Switching the Mark Five 25 CabClone SPKR switch to OFF engages the built-in load for silent recording or headphone use without the speaker. In the SPKR ON position, the speaker is active and the CabClone is using your speaker/cabinet as the load while the internal load resistor is bypassed. Still wrapping up the sample videos but hope to do a comparison video between the mics and CabClone in the near future. Thanks again for the kind words, glad you dig and hope this helps!
when you read the reviews that the dumble amps got when they came out [as in the book A DUMBLE BOOK] they compare the sound to the mesa boogie amps of the same time i wonder if mesa did what dumble did and hold back on making a lot of amps would we be talking about mesa the way we speak of dumble i guess we will never know?. what we do know is they make KILLER amps!
sounds much more convincing than the mini rec.
MESA/Boogie I swear I saw Mike Taylor jamming in that video... Boss AMPPPP!
Anthony Salazar - You DID! :D
Una sola palabra EXCELENTE !!!
Mi favorito, definitivamente
Thanks, M Valencia ! :D
Dreams eventually comes true 8)
I don't know, folks... Let's say that this will cost around 1200 $ , well, that's the Price of a used full Mark V. A thing like this, was awesome with the Rectifier models, but the greatness of the Mark V, especially, is that... it's not a recto! Don't get me wrong, it sound amazing but i like more the full 90 watt version. At any rate, as always, great job in this demo and in innovating a bit. Folks at Mesa, i bid you farewell, until the GAS attacks me, again ahahahahahaha ^^
This is 4 yesrs later and you still can't buy a mark v for 1200 used
Another good idea : mark v 25:5, yeah a power switch like on the 5:25 from 25,15 to 5 w or even the power soak to have a true bedroom volume. Just an idea.
