Wow, incredible bullshit. He's putting a lot of effort into it, and looks like he's straining. In fact, he's working his ass off. Watch the video again, more carefully!
I played for 10 years as a kid, mostly outfield. People always said I had a “good arm”......on vacation in Florida at 15 I got clocked at 66! People just don’t realize how good these guys are. And you can talk about mechanics all you want, but it’s something you’re blessed with, namely a very flexible rotator cuff, and being tall helps too
Being tall definitely helps. An old highschool friend 6’3 210lbs could throw high 80’s. We were drinking and throwing rocks trying to hit a pond in the distance and you could hear the rocks zip through the air the instant it left his hand. I was like this dudes a freak
It’s not just “something you’re blessed with” I’m a perfect example. From the ages of 5-18 I threw left handed. Wasn’t good at all. Switched throwing arms at age 18 playing Juco ball... in one year fixed my throwing patterns and went from throwing the ball 78 tops to 91 (Outfield, not off a mound). I wasn’t “blessed”. I just improved my mechanics. The guys you think are born with it, just had better movement patterns at a younger age, that’s it.
I caught for a dude in AA while I was in high school. He was maybe throwing 94. Scary as hell. Especially how hard and fast his breaking pitches were moving. I couldn't imagine catching for somebody throwing 100. Forget that.
On the 105, his leg made a bigger circle when it kicked out, implying his hip rotation matched his forward push. So if he tries too hard to muscle it, it makes the pitch slower.
Yes I also see 3 things he SHOULD ADDRESS ASAP FOR IMPROVEMENT AND LONGEVITY AT THAT CAPACITY .1 IS LOOK AT SLOW MO FROM YOUR NECK DOWN TO LOWER BACK ITS NOT POSITIONED CORRECT AT THAT .2 SECONDS BEFORE RELEASING. GOD BLESS GOOD LUCK ENJOY BROTHER
This the progression of major league-potential talent. Once upon a time, a pitcher who broke the 100 mph barrier was rare. Now, it is far more common. A pitched ball zipping along at 100 mph plus and hitting the strike zone is a beautiful thing.

Every other guy with 100 plus velo seems to use all arm and violent arm snap. It's why their shelf lives are crap. This guy reminds me of Nolan Ryan. Full body producing velocity. It's why he looked effortless throwing upper 90s on that warmup pitch. His entire body is using the kinetic chain to produce velocity, so he doesn't have to exaggerate his arm snap or overthrow. He has a bright future and a long career ahead.
Jesus Is King.!!! Jesus Loves You❤.!!! John 14:6 King James Bible Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me..!!! Follow Jesus Take The Narrow Path.!!!!!!!!
What a lot of people don’t realize is how much lottery your body has to win to be able to pitch in the majors. Key factors are being a 6 foot+ giant, and also how far back you can naturally rotate the shoulder to get the snap. Not clear cut in stone but HUGE factors.
So much excursion into a throw that hard. The chances of having a career of any length is slim to none. deGrom's are a super rare breed. I believe it's his 8th year still sizzling triple digits.
It’s going to come a time where it’s more and more guys throwing this consistently and less guys getting hurt from it, just watch. It’s beautiful to see
Incorrect. You should watch the documentary Fastball. It was on Netflix a while back. The hardest fastball ever thrown was decades ago by an all time legend. Faster than 110+. Hint: He’s the all time strikeout king and GOAT in my mind.
Dude got rocked in very low minors (RK) almost 5 ERA. He hit 5 batters. Walked 12 in 11 innings. You can throw 115, but if you don't have a secondary pitch and control, you won't make it in MLB.
Randy Johnson couldn’t hit a barn door but threw GAS they stuck with him he backed off a hair taught by Nolan Ryan got that slider working and became unhittable the greatest power pitcher of his generation. This kid has plenty of time you can’t coach 105
Considering how fast Chapman throws his 4.1 lifetime walks per game really isn't bad as he has had several seasons of around 3 or less than three walks per game
www.teamrankings.com/mlb/stat/walks-per-game using this link as a baseline you can see that for plenty of years Chapman had about average or even better control than whole teams...
Welcome to the northside my friend I wish you and your family nothing but the best I’m really glad the Cubs chose you 💯✌️may you have a great career a HOF at that GO Cubbies
Got this at baseball reference, 20 years old and 6'8 and 225 lb And his brief record last year He averaged 16.1 strikeouts per game but didn't pitch much... Also wild, over 8 walks per game, only pitched a bit over 12 innings
Just came up on my feed "oh this is years old, let's see how he's come along" He reached the MLB this September and off to statcast: He's got 96.9 average through 19 4-seam fastballs.
292 lb 47 years old haven't been on the Mound since my twenties don't work out didn't warm up first pitch 62 miles an hour. Either you have it or you don't right? This kid has something special and he's accurate to!
I played back in the day when RA Dickey was getting ready to go to TN and that was back before his injury and he could throw straight up gas. He was probably clocking in around 95 or 96 when I faced him in the Summer of 93' and I could barely get the bat around in time to make contact. I think I lined out to either right field or the 1st baseman. Granted, I'm no MLB player but I would think anyone who could hit 100 should be a shoo in for the major leagues.
The people posting "mechanics" comments are the same people who have never, ever held a Bat or picked up a baseball in their life. 100 MPH is 100 MPH, regardless of how it is thrown. Gotta love internet "professionals" who are always willing to offer their expertise. 🙄
@@fatdingo8251 Yep. Doesn't seem to matter what the topic, there is never a shortage of those who have no clue what they are talking about, yet, they have zero trouble offering their "expertise" on the matter at hand.
The guy is literally going to the Cubs, for everyone who says bs to this. Also. Watch a documentary called Fastball. Nolan Ryan scientifically was clocked at 108. Back in his era the radar gun had just been designed. He was clocked at 10 feet in front of home plate. Pitch F/X calculated about 50-55 feet from home plate. Stat cast which is used now, calculates the pitch the whole way but the fastest part of the pitch is when it has just been released by the pitcher. Stat cast posts the highest speed it traveled at any point. If nolan ryan were pitching in this modern era we would be seeing 106-108 mph.
I don't see the movement which you speak of. The ball moves when he's late to get around/through the ball and results in a wide/up fastball to RHB. Otherwise, mostly straight as an arrow. He's a thrower, not a pitcher.
I wonder why it was necessary to play music in the background at the beginning, especially with the video being less than a minute, for crying out loud.
Great arm. Now he should work on a nice, easy 95mph, with no grunting, landing better, and keeping that glove hand totally under control as he finishes. Not a criticism--just things to fine tune.
Greg Maddux never threw nearly that hard and was one of the best pitchers I’ve ever seen, I’m a Mets fan so I saw him plenty, a great fastball is good but control and changing speeds defines a true pitcher from just a hurler.
@ 0:35 the look that the other BP session guy throwing next to him gave was epic....that's the look of who the hell threw that BB bc i only heard it and didnt see it...good lord!!
As a former catcher when guys throw this hard especially a lefty the ball gets up on u really quick I used a palm guard glove and!! glued a thin piece of thick foam on the palm of the glove it was cut to fit the palm of my hand this worked until it was time for a new piece of foam

Wow, incredibly effortless delivery. Looks like he's just playing catch!
Wow, incredible bullshit. He's putting a lot of effort into it, and looks like he's straining. In fact, he's working his ass off. Watch the video again, more carefully!
@@craigh.9810 yeah I don't think you really get what "effortless" means in this context.
I’m guessing if people said you had a good arm at 15, you were throwing 76 or 86?
Idk the kid to his left was throwing absolute darts as well.
that guys in college im pretty sure
or minors

Wild Thing! You make my heart sing - you make EVERYthing groovy!
He seems pretty tall!!! He throwing some serious heat!!! Man!! God bless him.

Boom!
My pocket radar told me i was throwing 35 and 25 when i threw one as soft as possible and one as hard as possible. I was throwing like 75 ;-;
Furthest home run I’ve hit was against this dude….. he remembers me.
did you get drafted yet?
Doubt it
Sure you did uncle Rico! Bet you hit it a country mile.

The dad on the left is hitting atleast 99mph
Throwing gas and he's just getting loose lol
What a lot of people don’t realize is how much lottery your body has to win to be able to pitch in the majors. Key factors are being a 6 foot+ giant, and also how far back you can naturally rotate the shoulder to get the snap. Not clear cut in stone but HUGE factors.
Luke little might be the most inaccurate name for someone I've ever seen
Nice tailing fastball from a tall LHP. GREAT POTENTIAL! Good luck and God Speed! ✊
That's some cheese!
With some parmesan cheese on top of it

So much excursion into a throw that hard. The chances of having a career of any length is slim to none. deGrom's are a super rare breed. I believe it's his 8th year still sizzling triple digits.
Dude on the left looks pretty good too.
It’s going to come a time where it’s more and more guys throwing this consistently and less guys getting hurt from it, just watch. It’s beautiful to see
Kids today are throwing HEAT, 20 years ago nobody, even in the big leagues, touched 105
Incorrect. You should watch the documentary Fastball. It was on Netflix a while back. The hardest fastball ever thrown was decades ago by an all time legend. Faster than 110+. Hint: He’s the all time strikeout king and GOAT in my mind.
@@Crystalblaha not accurate like today
@@Crystalblaha Nolan Ryan did not throw that fast.
Tommy John has never been so proud!
Dude got rocked in very low minors (RK) almost 5 ERA. He hit 5 batters. Walked 12 in 11 innings. You can throw 115, but if you don't have a secondary pitch and control, you won't make it in MLB.
Thank you. Finally some reasoning.
Randy Johnson couldn’t hit a barn door but threw GAS they stuck with him he backed off a hair taught by Nolan Ryan got that slider working and became unhittable the greatest power pitcher of his generation. This kid has plenty of time you can’t coach 105
What Chapmans pitching would look like if he could actually hit the strike zone consistently.
Considering how fast Chapman throws his 4.1 lifetime walks per game really isn't bad as he has had several seasons of around 3 or less than three walks per game
www.teamrankings.com/mlb/stat/walks-per-game
using this link as a baseline you can see that for plenty of years Chapman had about average or even better control than whole teams...
Welcome to the northside my friend I wish you and your family nothing but the best I’m really glad the Cubs chose you 💯✌️may you have a great career a HOF at that GO Cubbies
Got this at baseball reference, 20 years old and 6'8 and 225 lb
And his brief record last year He averaged 16.1 strikeouts per game but didn't pitch much... Also wild, over 8 walks per game, only pitched a bit over 12 innings
A real life Ebby Calvin ‘Nuke’ Laloosh
Wait! Stop everything! ….Luke Little?….never heard of him…..note to self…..Luke Little is a beast!
Who’s here after his cubs debut?
Honestly, who doesn't just love the sound of that heater when it hits the catchers mitt?
That ball comes out faster than Angel on a Good call.
Big boy. Would be great to see a side shot to check on the mechanics but they look darn good. The 105 looked more relaxed than some of the 100s.
ignore the username idk how to change it
But when it said 59mph at the beginning, that was me...not to flex
Just came up on my feed "oh this is years old, let's see how he's come along"
He reached the MLB this September and off to statcast: He's got 96.9 average through 19 4-seam fastballs.
Hopefully he does well for the cubs in the future
maybe the stros..
we need him
He will get rocked at Wrigley.
Cubs are going to be LOADED.
Wow. Very impressive, somthing rarely witnessed
“Lefty with juice is great” million dollar arm movie
The guy is literally going to the Cubs, for everyone who says bs to this.
Also. Watch a documentary called Fastball. Nolan Ryan scientifically was clocked at 108. Back in his era the radar gun had just been designed. He was clocked at 10 feet in front of home plate.
Pitch F/X calculated about 50-55 feet from home plate.
Stat cast which is used now, calculates the pitch the whole way but the fastest part of the pitch is when it has just been released by the pitcher. Stat cast posts the highest speed it traveled at any point.
If nolan ryan were pitching in this modern era we would be seeing 106-108 mph.
nolan ryan didn’t throw 108
108 was the estimate... Some interpretive math involved...
Good control. Has movement. And is left handed.
I don't see the movement which you speak of. The ball moves when he's late to get around/through the ball and results in a wide/up fastball to RHB. Otherwise, mostly straight as an arrow. He's a thrower, not a pitcher.
and he's a lefty, he's been given the gift that keeps on giving, I hope he does something with it
I tried this and fell on my keys.
0:22 102 with movement, insane.
I wonder why it was necessary to play music in the background at the beginning, especially with the video being less than a minute, for crying out loud.
read the description
This dude is lethal. I mean literally. Imagine a truck pulling up with him on the mound in the bed and he just start throwing heat at the mall.
Great arm. Now he should work on a nice, easy 95mph, with no grunting, landing better, and keeping that glove hand totally under control as he finishes. Not a criticism--just things to fine tune.
95 gets eaten a lot...let's say a nice and easy 97/98...but you're right though!!!!
@@tima.478 lmao imagine if he could shoot a 101 fastball and then throw an 80mph change
@@landonbrown8482 I'm almost certain he can!
Always look fastball, adjust for the change/curve. 8-)
Greg Maddux never threw nearly that hard and was one of the best pitchers I’ve ever seen, I’m a Mets fan so I saw him plenty, a great fastball is good but control and changing speeds defines a true pitcher from just a hurler.
@@BLAZENYCBLACKOPS Plus he had the biggest strike zone in MLB history.
@ 0:35 the look that the other BP session guy throwing next to him gave was epic....that's the look of who the hell threw that BB bc i only heard it and didnt see it...good lord!!
That Mitt on the last one sounded like a literal gunshot
As a former catcher when guys throw this hard especially a lefty the ball gets up on u really quick I used a palm guard glove and!! glued a thin piece of thick foam on the palm of the glove it was cut to fit the palm of my hand this worked until it was time for a new piece of foam
105mph and he's not even in the majors yet? Damn he has crazy potential
Yeah i would imagine he goes thru the minors pretty quick
In the mlb be MUST hit corners consistently because even mlb hitters can rock 105mph If down the pipe
Call him the the atomic arm cuz he blowing up everything with that 105 good lord
I'm impressed. He's getting up there near Nolan Ryan's record of 108.
I don't buy 108. That was back in the 80's correct?
He never through 108. The fastest was 105.3 by Aroldis Chapman
@@isak8072 Wrong. Look it up
@@nunya7319 people don’t know anything about it, the announcers knew when Chapman broke it record, the fans knew it, and the entire league knew it
