Love the list! I love how you have BDK Gris charnel in the list! However, if you are a male you can totally rock this as well. I am a school teacher and a male. I wore this beautiful fragrance this past week and to be honest it was totally for myself. I wasn’t trying to get compliments or attention. I just truly love this fragrance. I was in the middle of teaching when I had another teacher knock on my door. She told me that she smelt something in the hallways and followed it directly to my room and asked if I was the one who smelt so amazing! I was shocked because I honestly went nose blind to it. I only sprayed 6-10 times. Just a cool story about this fragrance and to let the guys know don’t be afraid to wear this fragrance!
I totally agree. I love it myself. I have tried it just out of curiosity and it reminded me of Frapin IF by R.K. I have tried IF a few months early and really enjoyed it and then I have found Gris Charnel. Gris Charnel is more rounded in my opinion and I enjoy it a bit more. But if you use both of them you get a really good combination. My gf was really astonished since they have smelled so good together.
I've received numerous compliments on Gris Charnel as well! It's one of those fragrances that I was really taken aback by when I first smelled it. I just had to sit with it for a minute!

Dear Josephine, I keep hearing you mentioning that you love cardamom and I keep thinking of histoires de parfums “1969”. The peach is very pronounced, but cardamom is so strong in this beautiful summery warm scent. I would really suggest for you to try it!

Arabian oud recently released a really lovely feminine leaning fragrance that has a nice cardamom note, along with red fruits at the top, pineapple, jasmine, and tonka bean in the mid, vanilla and patchouli in the base, chef kiss! Love it. 🥰

I found out that Rouge Malachite is not discontinued either, the brand has decided to only release a limited amount per year as they are wanting to keep it exclusive. Where I am, they won't display the bottle and the only way to know about it or buy it, is if you ask or you've bought it in the past.
I love that white blouse! Love Rouge Malachite .There's a note in Lune Feline that smells like Lysol cleaner to me, disappointed I don't get the vanilla or cardamon.

Bought Samples of Gris Charnel, Lune Feline, and Amouage Material and hated all 3, I was so disappointed because I wanted to love them but just did not. I found out that I dislike Cardamon intensely. I did however buy Hibiscus Palm and I love it. I guess I will stick to the floral scents.
I can tell you have impeccable taste madam! I just ordered Lune Feline because I am tired of everyone talking about how amazing it is..lol! I am a lover of Roses and Gourmands. I appreciate tuberose and I am trying to learn to appreciate jasmine- Unfortunately, I am sensitive to indoles..BUT, I recently found a jasmine fragrance that is one of the most magical fragrances I've ever smelled- Midnight Jasmine by Pearlescent Parfums! Kayali Utopia is one of my favs on it's own (not vanilla but reminds me of vanilla bc of the coconut). But so funny bc I love pairing Replica Beach Walk or Aerin Hibiscus Palm with Juliettes Vanilla Vibes too!

Hi Josephine! Splendid video as always! However, I really want to recommend Xerjoff Starlight from the Shooting Stars collection. Have you ever smelt it in your life or not yet? I know you have already sworn to never buy fragrances from Xerjoff because of their crappy delivery system but this particular frag is bomb af! Realistic cardamom with hints of almonds, cloves, cinnamon, and cedarwood. It is so comforting and very well blended. I think you'll like it given your penchant for everything cardamom. Please try it 😭 I would love to know your reaction.

I have loved Tardes but blind bought Lune Feline and to my nose no trace of vanilla cardamon sponge. Burnt tires is how this smells to 5 members of my family and friends.
My fav from this list is Amouage Material and I, too, find it a bit too much for summer, even though I would love to find a combo that makes it a bit lighter so I can wear it all year round. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know 🙂
Hi Josephine! Excited to hear you'll be doing a video on cardamom perfumes. Do you know YSL Nu (pour femme), from their Tom Ford era? It was a gorgeous cardamom perfume, but it is sadly discontinued and I don't know what I can replace it with. Do you know of anything similar, please? According to my old bottle, YSL Nu's notes were bergamot, cardamom, incense, patchouli and olibanum. Thank you!
I tried Neroli Oranger based on your recommendation and it is lovely. I dont know if you tried atelier cologne california clementine I think you would really like it.
When I tried vanilla vibes I smelled absolutely nothing! I know some people experience this with certain notes? Will try it again, would love to layer with hibiscus palm 🌴 one of my favorites.

Wow, I'm envious that you've nailed down your little polyamorous, "olfactory harem" of sorts to 10 lovers. I'm currently building my capsule collection, so I'd have to get back to you. I swoon over many but am yet to confidently settle on 10. You're inspiring. I have a question for you: which fragrance houses do you tend to have more 'misses' with than 'hits'? And the most important component of your answer: why do you think this is? I do realise that you cannot answer this question off the cuff, you'll need to really think about this so if you have the time or inclination (or already know! :D) then I'd be most curious to read more or hear more in a video. What is the common theme or issue you have with the creative directors or even perfumers behind most of the output of these fragrances houses? No shade intended on any company, as the kids say, but I find this fascinating because the answers will be fundamentally intelligent, idiosyncratic and absolutely unbiased-- just your straight up instinct, taste and evaluation of SMELL only. I'm very curious.
Thanks for your question. I want to stress that fragrance is completely subjective and there isn't really a "bad" house per say. Also, I've found that my preferences in terms of fragrance notes and what I'm looking for in a scent evolves over time. For instance, I used to wear a lot of Byredo scents a few years ago whilst today I haven't really been drawn to the new releases and don't wear the fragrances I have in my collection as much. If I'm in the mood for minimalistic modern scents then I'll wear them but these days I'm more into opulent super strong perfumes. Tomorrow that could change. A note on your question about creative directors and perfumers. The one issue I do have is with designer brands pumping out fragrances that all smell very similar so there isn't much room for creativity. That's why I turn to niche fragrances, because there is a wider olfactive spectrum. Back to the designers - the reason they do this is because when they launch new fragrances they will bench the juice being developed against a popular perfume and see which performs the best (in terms of how people perceive the fragrance in focus groups). This will lead to the development of scents that aren't too dissimilar from one another. Of course there are huge financial interests here and brands need to reach their targets. The perfumers aren't to blame - they just receive the brief and have a specific budget to keep to and that's it. It's the way bigger corporations do business that ultimately affects the type of scents we see on the market.
Yesterday I was at the mall and I fell in love with Jo Malone’s Mimosa & Cardamom and Jasmine Sambac & Marigold. I couldn’t buy them though because my hubby is with me 😂 Anyway, have you tried Rose Omeyyade? Is that similar to Scherzo?

Didn’t like Scherzo at all. Smelled old and nothing impressive. They don’t carry it in the US so purchased it from Uk and had to pay an arm and leg for shipping.
Fragrance is SO personal. If you can get a sample of it or decant definitely go down that route first. You need to test the fragrance on your skin and see how it works with your skin chemistry

I love all of your edits in your videos. Excellent visuals. Beautiful productions. What do you recommend for people who work in the office? I have..... not allergies, but, a weak sense of smell, so, I feel bad when I overspray! However, when I wear a cpl different perfumes, my co-workers don't mind. However, I did wear DELINA & my co-workers instantly went to our boss! I wore it lightly. But, I don't know why they hated Delina?

In the US, Rouge Malachite is randomly available at Bloomie's, Neiman's, and Berdorf's online. It sells out in 2.5 seconds, but it does exist!

Bought Samples of Gris Charnel, Lune Feline, and Amouage Material and hated all 3, I was so disappointed because I wanted to love them but just did not. I found out that I dislike Cardamon intensely. I did however buy Hibiscus Palm and I love it. I guess I will stick to the floral scents.

I appreciate tuberose and I am trying to learn to appreciate jasmine- Unfortunately, I am sensitive to indoles..BUT, I recently found a jasmine fragrance that is one of the most magical fragrances I've ever smelled- Midnight Jasmine by Pearlescent Parfums! Kayali Utopia is one of my favs on it's own (not vanilla but reminds me of vanilla bc of the coconut). But so funny bc I love pairing Replica Beach Walk or Aerin Hibiscus Palm with Juliettes Vanilla Vibes too!

Hi Josephine! Splendid video as always! However, I really want to recommend Xerjoff Starlight from the Shooting Stars collection. Have you ever smelt it in your life or not yet? I know you have already sworn to never buy fragrances from Xerjoff because of their crappy delivery system but this particular frag is bomb af! Realistic cardamom with hints of almonds, cloves, cinnamon, and cedarwood. It is so comforting and very well blended. I think you'll like it given your penchant for everything cardamom. Please try it 😭 I would love to know your reaction.

I have loved Tardes but blind bought Lune Feline and to my nose no trace of vanilla cardamon sponge. Burnt tires is how this smells to 5 members of my family and friends.

Hi Josephine! Excited to hear you'll be doing a video on cardamom perfumes. Do you know YSL Nu (pour femme), from their Tom Ford era? It was a gorgeous cardamom perfume, but it is sadly discontinued and I don't know what I can replace it with. Do you know of anything similar, please? According to my old bottle, YSL Nu's notes were bergamot, cardamom, incense, patchouli and olibanum. Thank you!

I have a question for you: which fragrance houses do you tend to have more 'misses' with than 'hits'? And the most important component of your answer: why do you think this is? I do realise that you cannot answer this question off the cuff, you'll need to really think about this so if you have the time or inclination (or already know! :D) then I'd be most curious to read more or hear more in a video. What is the common theme or issue you have with the creative directors or even perfumers behind most of the output of these fragrances houses? No shade intended on any company, as the kids say, but I find this fascinating because the answers will be fundamentally intelligent, idiosyncratic and absolutely unbiased-- just your straight up instinct, taste and evaluation of SMELL only. I'm very curious.
Thanks for your question. I want to stress that fragrance is completely subjective and there isn't really a "bad" house per say. Also, I've found that my preferences in terms of fragrance notes and what I'm looking for in a scent evolves over time. For instance, I used to wear a lot of Byredo scents a few years ago whilst today I haven't really been drawn to the new releases and don't wear the fragrances I have in my collection as much. If I'm in the mood for minimalistic modern scents then I'll wear them but these days I'm more into opulent super strong perfumes. Tomorrow that could change.
A note on your question about creative directors and perfumers. The one issue I do have is with designer brands pumping out fragrances that all smell very similar so there isn't much room for creativity. That's why I turn to niche fragrances, because there is a wider olfactive spectrum. Back to the designers - the reason they do this is because when they launch new fragrances they will bench the juice being developed against a popular perfume and see which performs the best (in terms of how people perceive the fragrance in focus groups). This will lead to the development of scents that aren't too dissimilar from one another. Of course there are huge financial interests here and brands need to reach their targets. The perfumers aren't to blame - they just receive the brief and have a specific budget to keep to and that's it. It's the way bigger corporations do business that ultimately affects the type of scents we see on the market.
Yesterday I was at the mall and I fell in love with Jo Malone’s Mimosa & Cardamom and Jasmine Sambac & Marigold. I couldn’t buy them though because my hubby is with me 😂 Anyway, have you tried Rose Omeyyade? Is that similar to Scherzo?

Didn’t like Scherzo at all. Smelled old and nothing impressive. They don’t carry it in the US so purchased it from Uk and had to pay an arm and leg for shipping.

Fragrance is SO personal. If you can get a sample of it or decant definitely go down that route first. You need to test the fragrance on your skin and see how it works with your skin chemistry

Different concepts. The holy grail had to do with holy grail notes in fragrances and this one is my all time fav perfumes :)

What do you recommend for people who work in the office? I have..... not allergies, but, a weak sense of smell, so, I feel bad when I overspray! However, when I wear a cpl different perfumes, my co-workers don't mind.
