He should have been awarded several music awards just for this song alone.
How is this the only live footage of Joe playing this song....One of my all time favs by Joe and yet so rare!

In fact, this song was played only two or three times live, he didn't like the way it sounded and never played it again. He said in an interview: the feeling was not there (or something like that).
First and only time I have seen him break a string. Been a fan for almost 40 years!

My all time favorite Satriani song since I heard it in 89. Stunning!
My very favourite tune of Joe. Beginning of the 90's I was lucky to see him on stage in Annecy, France, a very small town. He was hardly known in France at that time, at least not as much as today, so we were just a handful of people watching the show. Almost an intimate and private session !

@@EthnHayabusa Not really. I mean, that's the song, but this is one of those kind of songs where every single note counts because the studio version is perfect like that in that way with those lines played in that those ways.

+Rob Jarvis I asked him about it at the G4 camp last year because this song gets me every time. He said that he stopped playing it because the last time he did it live it brought the mood down so much he couldn't bring it back up. It's too powerful. It seems that live he sticks to the "party" songs more.
Wow, thanks for that, really appreciate that you asked him,and yes he does give me the impression that he sticks to the happy stuff but hey ho ,who am i to complain! if it was me i'd do a whole lot more really powerful tunes like this but maybe thats part of why I'm not famous. Ive followed Joe from the beginning and even though I'm a bit bored now, i have to admit the man is amazing and still after all these years there is a song or two on every album that just hits the spot still for me!, again thank you, i feel humbled to know this.

@@Gry101 is coz of how the live crowd respond to it live.. this i remember he mention in one of his interview about it where he felt the song somehow decrease the audience hype during the concert and having a hard time bring up the hype again and he was kinda having a cold sweat on stage when that happen so he doesn’t want that to happen again….
Sad tho..this song actually is my first ever JS song that totally make me a serious fan of him. The emotion of the guitar screaming in this song you totally can feel it thru ur soul. Is out of this world. To me that is. 😅

I really, really hate the timing of the broken string, right before the part where he makes the guitar scream. Can't imagine what it would've been like without the broken string.
The drummer was going to go into it a 2nd time & Satch turned & looked at him & shook his head....nope! We're gonna finish is out from here.

In the drummer's defense, its not like they rehearse doing a song that suffers technical difficulties in front of a live audience.

Satch is king, but this superb song deserves a better live version. I don't know why Satriani barely played this one live so far.

@@mojopin70 maybe it's very difficult..because there are bendings impossible to replicate live..i try to play it along..in that part the string break ,bending is impossible to replicate ,fingers are tired...believe it

C'est l'une de mes musiques préférées de son registre, c'est cet album que j'ai découvert en premier mais pour le coup ce live (au delà du son est mauvais) le batteur fait n'importe quoi cela enleve toutes la puissance de l'émotion que cette musique a dommage,
